Following on from the L2 forum's disgraceful overthrowing of a vote, rejection of democracy and decision to follow dictatorship values thus shunning divisional enlightenment in favour of laziness, I thought it would be interesting to highlight which sets of supporters are making this most pitiful match threads.

These ones with under 10 replies are what we will classify as "critical failures":

Newport vs Mansfield - 2 replies
Stevenage vs Accrington - 7 replies
Cambridge vs Yeovil - 6 replies
Accrington vs Coventry - 9 replies
Accrington vs Coventry (Part II) - 3 replies
Yeovil vs Crewe - 8 replies
Crewe vs Stevenage - 8 replies
Yeovil vs Colchester - 5 replies
Exeter vs Morecambe - 3 replies
Accrington vs Cheltenham - 5 replies
Cheltenham vs Colchester - 1 reply
Exeter vs Newport - 7 replies
Crawley vs Yeovil - 2 replies
Cheltenham vs Stevenage - 0 replies
Morecambe vs Swindon - 4 replies
Luton vs Colchester - 2 replies

Unsurprisingly, we see the likes of Yeovil, Cheltenham, Stevenage Accrington and Crewe appear numerous times. I would propose that supporters of these clubs are immediately banned from creating match threads, however as JJ, Mowgli and the admins are not concerned with the collective and would rather just organisine the forum to suit their own personal preferences, this would be a futile request.

What we can do though, is use this thread to perhaps coach the aforementioned supporters in how to create interesting content regarding their clubs. We can also perhaps lightly berate those such as the Cheltenham and Stevenage fans - 0 REPLIES!!

Maybe we can assign each Crewe or Cheltenham supporter a Lincoln, Notts County or Grimsby supporter to mentor them in how to use a forum? Perhaps we can introduce a buddy system whereby a Forest Green supporter introduces the world of banter to a Yeovil fan?

Hopefully some of you will have some additional thoughts.

If this thread proves to be a success we'll move onto the "primary failures", aka those match threads that didn't make it onto a 2nd page.

I don't see why it would be locked mate, all I am doing is trying to improve the forum.
I'm not campaigning to eradicate them, or even complaining. More trying to garner discussion about what to do to improve a failing system and maybe begin an analytical process. Plus it is not very busy at work today.

It's great to have both, as we've got.

It's a shame when some threads don't have much interest on occasions, I think we all agree on that one.

What I don't get is when someone is called/slagged off etc for voicing their opinion. It's a thread on 4th division football for god's sake.

Agreed. Would you be willing to sponsor/mentor a Crewe fan? Just £5 a month gives lordofthepies the necessary dictionary and thesaurus apps on his phone to help him learn more words and thus contribute better to match day threads.

I welcome your flexible, creative and sensitive approach to this issue. Clearly you've finally recognised that many of us want threads that leave the E Midlands / North Lincs banter machine and Luton train spotting and navel gazing to their/your own devices whilst we have room for sensible conversations about Roman Britain, Vanarama reminiscences, etc. alongside our less insightful match analysis. Indeed the fans of some clubs are clearly intimidated from contributing alongside such towering intellects, feeling inferior and in danger of being pushed into the background, even on individual match threads.

Now we need to move on and build on that emerging consensus.

What might make the good folk of the Globe Arena, Huish Park or the LCI Rail Stadium are more likely to contribute to threads?

Clearly not my pathetic effort to create a multiple match thread that even had you thinking it was a Cambridge v Yeovil thread (although it did capture the interest of one Grimsby fan).

On this date in 2009, U's travelled to Church Road to lose 3-0 to Hayes & Yeading United in front of 744.

The level of interest in tonight's match against Yeovil seems only slightly higher on here and on our message board - so I invite the fellow fans of similarly stuttering clubs and Newport to express their views here, away from the distractions of trains leaving stations and new manager bounces.

Is this where I'm going wrong?

To be honest, I still don't know what the hell is going on with this one. I just assumed it was about Cambridge because you started it but I did think it strange that Cambridge would be flagged as having started a critical failure thread.

The question of how to get these fans posting is indeed the pressing issue here. If we can fix the Crewe fans then I do think we can fix all of them.

Some fans of teams can't even be bothered to start a thread for a game!! Pitiful. Surely it only takes one forum member from either club to start the ball rolling with a one liner.

I know it involved two small clubs, and it was midweek but still...

Depends really, most of our threads are busy before we have a decent number on here but Colchester have one or two so is difficult one as a single thread would still get dominated by one or two games.

Perhaps the answer is to be found in collectivism and dare I say it communist ideals. If you’re a fan of one of the super busy and well supported clubs then perhaps do your bit and help out with the less busy threads. A witty quip or a well timed gif could give a faltering thread a new purpose.
George Whitman once famously said “ give what you can and take what you need”
Apologies for coming into your sub forum to give my ideas but I don’t believe in borders and prefer to think of us as one great big, dysfunctional collective.
Peace

I’d say if you want to start a thread then do it but just think first ffs - if you’re playing someone like Morecambe or Stevenage then just use the match thread, otherwise you’re not going to get any replies, especially if you’re playing out drab 0-0s *cough cough*.

I think both look stupid. Forum looks a mess. If they've not got at least 10 replies by match day can't they just be merged into the General match thread or something? I understand some games will get a few pages worth of posts depending on how big the game is or how many posters the team has representing them on here. That said I think Barnet and Mansfield have a fair few and don't think a thread was even started, If I'd have had anything to say about that shit show id of posted in the general thread anyway.

We could always offer coupons towards a prize for contibuting to designated PCFTs (potential critical failure threads) - perhaps a Nintendo.

Of course for Crewe threads it would probably need to be

On an only slightly more serious note, Vanni , Dirk and myself could always re-focus our wider football interests closer to home and adopt a deserving L2 club in place of the now improving Foresta Suceava and boring leaders FC Hermannstadt from our sister league, Liga 2 in Romania.

https://www.onefootballforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/the-acs-foresta-suceava-thread.15928/

I have been known to post about Morecambe in the past when their number of active fans on here were "0."

The game involved 2 clubs of such massive proportions, the posting would have crashed the server.

We agreed in the summer not do create one for this very reason.

Maybe if the football in this Godforsaken league wasn’t so shite people may well post.

There’s only so many times you can say hoofball.

It's odd.

We even have a stalker so obsessed with our manager, they post more about him than their own team.

Sad times

Ahhhhh so you are posting about me again Adam?! Crowbarring it in to yet another thread! Yikes! I love the irony of each any every post young man :)

But seriously, should I be worried? When will it stop? At least my self confessed obsession is with someone in the public eye lol.

You live in Manchester right? (I think you've mentioned that once or twice before), so hopefully that means there is circa 80 miles between us. Phew!

Thank **** Mansfield play at home on the same day as the Stylish Magpies.

Though to be fair half the posts on our match threads are jokes about meat.

No they aren't. Had a look through and can see hardly any, in any of them. You made that up.

As one of the clubs with enough fans on here to keep match threads going I say keep it as it is. Couldn't give a fuck about what other threads do.

Anyone who doesn't like it needs to pipe the fuck down. No time for rabble rousers. It's been decided that this is how things are done, get on with it.
