You could argue, if you have the intelligence, that their average was vastly inflated by that MK Dons following.....

Good luck in the Conference, hope the club gets sorted and you don't hang about down there too long.

Of course it was, and the game at Meadow Lane . Everyone know that each season . I’ve done some research and I believe it’s the lowest play off away following in EFL history Southey . Incredible

Thanks could be anything down there with us being such a mess off field . Average is 2-5 seasons for so many who have fallen before us so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same for us .

No it’s easier obviously but don’t you still have to take half a day off work to get to the game ? So that’s the main reason you couldn’t fill a modest 400 away allocation because it’s a Thursday not a Friday ?

The excuse list is building up to an impressive total, so far we have

On TV
Thursday not a Friday
Full day off work to travel the whole 3 hrs?
We’ve been let down so often so couldn’t be bothered
MK Dons match and impact on fans
Bad for self employed
Cost

Anything else lads ?

You could of alternatively just said , yeah it’s a bit shit and saved yourself time and looking foolish but keep defending the indefensible .
Could have not of you docile tit.

You're too stupid to debate with. The correct wording could have not could of, were you born stupid or do you practice at it?

So in short the away following was meh.

Could have been better could have been worse.

Its nice to know that if we don’t win the playoffs we’ll still be a league club next season.

That’s so weak , all away followings could of been , could of been worse . It’s not meh it’s historically the worse ever .

It’s laughable how your viewpoint has totally changed since earlier in the season . Funny that .

That’s a great dig if you hadn’t already been a non league club . Apart from that fact , good one

Maybe that but probably more to do with the fact I was 6 years old . What the hello has the Miners strikes got to do with football ? Do you still shout ” scabs “ at selected games ? :ohm:

How many years down the pits had you got under your belt when 84 strikes happened ?

It’s short notice for fans every year and the followings are never that shit

Are they ever at Newport away after taking 5,300 to MK on the last game of the season and absolutely bottling it?

Funny how differ views are on this, like I said it was a bit lower than I expected but what did others expect? 1,000?

Even thought Mansfield average away following was nearly 1000, the median was only about 400 due to the MK and County games skewing the average.

As most games are played on Saturday’s and with Saturday away followings generally 50% higher than midweek games, a figure of 286 at Newport on a midweek night compared to a median of 400 was what I was expecting.

Are you sure about those numbers? What’s the mean average without the 9500 for the two big games? After all we must be precise in this all important thread!

It’s lovely a example of attendance maths but once again , the fact it’s a play off game, 1 of only 2 or maximum 3 games is conveniently being completely ignored. The last time I checked the play offs, if lucky enough to get there, represents the whole seasons efforts for the clubs involved. It’s a knock out tournament with Wembley and possible promotion as the prize, not an away game at Crawley in November (no offence Crawley fans, could of picked one of many as you know). Winner takes all. A tad different don’t ya think?

286 is about 5% of the MK following. Surely with Mansfailed’s often quoted impressive away followings all season that is a dare I say pathetic total. I would of expected at least 10% of that total for such a game.

I didn’t necessarily expect 1000 Conks but who didn’t think they would sell out just 400 tickets to see such a momentous game? It wasn’t even close to reaching that figure.

But then again, who cares only the result matters right? The amount of away fans who saw it? Means nothing right?

But it's not your average game, it's a play-off semi-final. I get the reasons why some wouldn't travel but I still would have expected 500 at a minimum.

I’ll discount that because like I said, you have no idea how deflated and fed up the fan base was after our choke.

We literally lost our last three games, convincingly, nobody in Mansfield thought we stood a chance.

But at Mansfield this season the play offs were a massive failure considering that we lost their last three games and even a draw in last game would have given automatic promotion.

What was nice to see on Thursday night was that the folk there were the genuine followers, the diehards, a bit like the 65 of us who saw the Stags beat Newport at Rodney Parade on a Tuesday night in March 2015 with a Reggie Lambe late winner.

Just to put into context the last time Newport came to Mansfield on a midweek match - last season - something they will have had months to play for they managed 57 (this isn’t a go at the Newport fans btw). Just seems there’s quite a lot made of a following of nearly 300 with 5 days notice on a weeknight

State of this thread again. :lac:

Also have Enzo and Viking Magpie morphed into the same person these last couple of pages?

#pathetic

You do know they’re the same person using different logins?

Enzo and viking walking hand in hand with himself to the conference :brill:

Let’s put it in proper context . It’s the lowest EFL play off away following since their inception ! Adam that was way before you started watching football , trusts me . Which part of that don’t you understand ?

It’s not meh , it’s not could of been better it’s ... in your words pathetic from the Supporters of Mansfield . The word you love so much . Fair play to the 286 hardcore though :)

It’s nice to be in the playoffs and the league next season.

How about you?

“ Nice to be in the playoff? “ - that’s not what you’ve been saying the past few weeks Adam . You’ve been saying the complete opposite as it was either automatics or play offs pretty much all season for Mansfield . There hasn’t really been a 3rd option as you’ve had such a good season playing some of the best stuff Stags fans have ever seen . Now it’s nice to be there haha . At least keep your story consistent .

I would of loved play offs again two seasons in a row and had a change of promotion alas we had our worst season in our club’s history and for first time ever have been relegated to non league football . Of course seeing as you posted almost all if not all Notts match threads throughout the season you already know this .

BTW it also kind of helps when you haven’t already been a non league club yourself before you make digs about that subject ;)

Could have you thick fucker not could of.

Do you correct people who put loose instead of lose on forums too ? What a fun job that must be .

We’ve got a championship football fan in the league two forum regularly commenting on away attendances , whilst correcting poor grammar and spelling and mentioning the 1980s miners strikes ?

Safe to call that post the nadir of this thread .

That’s the problem though, folk have work on Thursdays, I’m a die hard but unfortunately conferences for work in Edinburgh were already in place, to get nearly 300 or so in that time down there was a good effort. Would probably be a sell out today had it been reversed.

Only 8,000 in the conference playoff yesterday! Just imagine being back down there. Urgh

Yes I would correct the idiot that cannot differentiate between loose and lose, you had a free education that you've basically failed.

As you said, you can’t argue with stupid.

Why one would take such effort to post in a league forum when not in one I’m not sure.

It’s what chesterfield did when they went down, they clung to attendance figures and how they got more than mansfield (they didn’t - as they announce STHs who didn’t attend) as it was more appealing than looking at the failure of a football club they’ve got stuck in non-league.

You suspect notts are doing the same. Why face reality when you can try and make yourself believe something about another football club? Ha

My monthly salary suggests otherwise .

Do you still chant scabs at football matches ? How many years did you spend down the mines you never did answer either .
