Indeed the concourse was rammed pre match and at half time, the lack of toilets was causing chaos too.

Thank fuck for that, Bored of seeing it on twitter

Serious question though, why build a stand that can seat 5500 if the concourse isn’t big enough to hold that many on it?

Good question and I don’t know the answer

My guess is that stand was originally designed for home fans which it housed for many a season . Naturally that would never be 100% full so never an issue . Whereas the Spion Kop originally housed the away fans visiting Meadow Lane and I assume the concourses are fine there even when sold out as they often were .

Chaos :fl: it’s 4th tier football how precious has the average football fan become ? Compared to what I've experienced at opposition grounds , it’s a palace

It’s chaotic everytime we go aswell to be fair so it’s understandable that we can’t have more because of that.

I guess at the time the ground was redeveloped the health and safety rules weren't quite as stringent as they are now and the number of seats reflects that. Part of the problem with that stand is that County Road is built over a brook running into the Trent (which is why Meadow Lane is historically more susceptible to flooding than the City Ground), so the stand couldn't be extended a few extra feet towards the road.

The facilities in that stand really aren't sufficient for 4300 fans - the bogs under the block I was in were absolutely rammed, only space for about 6/7 at a time. Opening the doors at the back is a good idea though.

Legroom is a bit shit as well. You'd think it would be better to put fewer seats in and give a bit more legroom, but I guess it was built in the early 90s when 'customer experience' wasn't really a serious consideration at football grounds. Just after Taylor, it was probably built to terrace specs, but with seats added.

Less than 50 tickets left for Macc on Saturday now. The fans are turning up, just hope the team follow suit.

Just go for a piss during the 90 mins and it won’t be rammed . A rare inconvenience for away fans

I like to watch the game when I go to football.

The people that are up every five minutes for a piss drive me nuts. I had the seat on the end of the row on Saturday...up and down like a whore's drawers.

That’s what the combination of plenty of beer and a football match produces .

I can’t believe the complaining . Huge away section , plenty of tickets , good view , decent facilities . Queue for the toilets , queue for refreshments kiosks . Nothing new

This coming from a guy who doesn’t accept football history lol. I’m not the one quoting others teams disappointing or pathetic away followings in order to get hard

Are you just avoiding the fact you’re bottom of the league. It’s alright dear.

I suppose groups of lads under the age of 30 would stick out obviously in the home ends lol. Get buying some flatcaps, walking sticks and talking about how things were good in the 1950s and you’re sorted!

All 1500 tickets sold out for Macc. Only 200 available as pay on the day. I know a few going without tickets so could be abit of a scramble for them.

I know it's a novelty but surely people can go longer than a couple of hours without going for a piss?

It's a shame because I seem to remember Mansfield having 4000 + in the Kop mid/early noughties and the facilities were pretty good, I think.

Edit - It was actually 2007, when a plane with a 'MTFC For Sale, Haslam Out' banner flew around Nottingham for a bit

Seems we've been given 400 extra for Macc as opposed to 200 extra. We'll definitely shift another 200 and come very close to selling out. Probably be our biggest away following since we last played Macc when we outnumbered them in our promotion season (think we had 1800 to their 1600 that day) .

All this talk of Crewe and their big numbers is hurting my head. I just don’t understand

Club's been an absolute mess for years with a good 1500 fans turning their back on the club over the last 5 years of solid regression but it feels like we've finally turned a corner after half a decade of false dawns and shite. Staff, players and fans are finally on the same wavelength for the first time in years and this optimism has showed by everyone getting behind the lads tomorrow. We'll probably lose as we usually do in these circumstances but it's just great to be buzzing about an away game like this again.

Hang on mate, we were probably saying this when we won the playoffs and JPT, hardly a false dawn was it just standard progression with our off field issues and lack of Gradi. The position we’re currently in isn’t that great, few defeats and the fans are in delirium again. Pretty standard following all things considered but you’re right in saying we have definitely lost fans over the recent years, double 1,500 i’d say.

Massive mate, can I chuck in nearly 1300 earlier in the season from Mansfield despite being nearly a extra 30 miles away if we are windmilling?

**Breaking News** Fans tend to come and go depending on success or lack of success. This disease appears to have spread to the all important away followings in L2 :ohm:

I know I can’t believe it either, makes no sense
