Elliot Whitehouse aside, it sounds like we've got a fully fit and available squad to choose from this weekend for what seems like the first time in ages.

Cup final :fl:

We had Neal Bishop when he was in his prime for well over 100 games :ohy:

Ask our bish what he thinks to that, because he will tell you ya wrong. He’s a bit of a freak, didn’t properly start football until late hence why he’s 37 and is still easily a good L1 player.

Is that what the 37 year old is telling his current club fans? Lol. Don’t tell me you think he’s at his peak now ? This season?

Look he’s quality, he’s always been top quality in L2, was for Barnet, was for Notts. No doubt he was at Scunny too probably better.

Peak ? Prime ? Ok:thumbs:

Just imagine bish at county now. A cracking player in a sea of shit bottom of the league. A player like him doesn’t deserve that. He’d be going back next week shaking his head wondering how they’ve self destructed to where they are now.

He seemed to have a good laugh on Twitter at the Alan Hardy flaccid penis and balls in bath debacle.

Had a good laugh about getting away with that red at our place too. Seems like a bit of a classless twat to me.

We were the same. First transfer window back we were about 50/50 between old and new, then by the close of the August window last summer, we had two left - Rhead and Habergham.
I would guess that by next season there will only be three or four of our promotion winning side left, assuming Norwood leaves: Davies, Monthe (who was only on loan last season), Jennings and perhaps Buxton as a squad player.

The strange thing is, it has been difficult to second guess who would cut it at a higher level. I thought Harris would be a reasonably solid League Two midfielder, but he has been out of his depth. On the other hand, I had severe doubts about Caprice, but he has been our best full back and his pace is a real asset in this division.

He oozes class! Definitely hot headed though, hence getting sent off in the tunnel at Carlisle!

Be nice to be at SB for a change tomorrow against Northampton. Both games we've had this season were close and I'm expecting the same tomorrow.

We had a few niggles after the Notts game last week - Anderson, Bolger, Bostwick and Vickers but I think they'll have cleared up.

Currently doing my Masters at Lincoln Uni but am so apathetic about the Cobblers I can’t be arsed to stay another night and go to the game...0-4 Wobbs

Harris has improved in recent appearances, though agree that he’s unlikely to be given another contract. Caprice’s pace in a generally pedestrian side has perhaps led to some of his defensive frailties being overlooked, though there was a spell a couple of months ago, when Rovers were doing better, that he was doing well all-round. Buxton is arguably the better defensive right-back.

Two of our promotion side Andy Cook and Oliver Norburn have shown they are capable at a higher level than L2 and I expect Norwood will too. Cook has really been missed.

I don’t think he’s classless, he’s a good guy by all accounts. He’s just your stereotypical footballer committed but not very bright.

In fact he’s as daft as a brush and definitely easy to wind up so that probably comes across as lacking class. Great player at this level as he has been for ages

Many ex players will unsurprisingly. He’s like
Doyle isn’t he? Not as good obviously and his career peaked noticeably lower than Doyle but same position of the field and very similar player, attitude and approach.

He’s 37 too......... pssstttt Conks he’s not at his peak either :shifty:

Any player that gets away with assaulting an opponent and then goes up the other end of the pitch, scores the winner then baits fans and played for Scunny is a twat in my opinion.

An understandable viewpoint SoC. But I can’t emphasise just how dim Neal is. Blame lack of IQ rather than anything else.

Surely guaranteed a place in the all important L2 team of the year!

We don't hammer teams as a rule, be surprised if we score more than 3.
Must likely a narrow win 2 1 to us and Curle will be claiming you were the better and we only won by cheating and conning the ref.
Bit windy

Our season tickets are going up in price by 30%.

So much for “affordable live football” - doesn’t effect me in the slightest but Tranmere need to remember they are a working class football club and not based in London.

We certainly got away with it that day tbh, though in fairness we should have scored 3 or 4, we were far too wasteful again

What to? Ours around £330 wherever you sit in the ground, which is bizarre. We have the most expensive cheapest season ticket and the cheapest expensive season ticket on offer in the league apparently - work that one out

Cheapest is £350.
Most expensive is £1200.

For adults that is. Lots of cheap kid STs.

Yeovil today which will show if we have the faintest chance of mounting a last minute push for the play offs. Highly unlikely but we need to be winning games like this now.

A game remembered by Grimsby fans for when the worlds worst getaway driver Ashley Sestanovich took on the entire Yeovil defence and scored. A great moment for him who went on to have a successful 8 year career at HMP Belmarsh.

Could do with Grimsby and Bury wins today, coupled with our own. We're yet to have a weekend where all results go out way, would be very useful if that's today.

Cambridge away which is the start of a run of fixtures against teams around us.

Askey has gone two up front with a return from injury for Tom Pope.

Interestingly not one of the deadline day signings makes the squad! Including Howkins who is decent.

Oyeleke missing is a blow but good Whitfield and Monty on the bench.

As I said before the forum broke (again) I think you will stay up. As odd as he is, Big Sol has really turned it around, looked good against us and has turned an impossible situation into a good chance of staying up.

No doubt he’s using it to earn his divine right to manage a top level club but if it keeps you up!

Moxey out today which is a blow. On the plus side, Randell Williams starts for the first time and hopefully can bring us some pace up front

Mellon picks the same side which disappointed at home to the Cobblers. A surprise that.
