There'd be a big changeover of managers most weeks if fans were given the opportunity to vote for or against their managers keeping their jobs...

Its easy to call for a manager to go but its tougher to replace them with someone who all the fans agree on!

Strange; an owner asking fans what they want. Isn't he aware such a referendum can be messy? Suppose they vote to sack him, will they then spend 3 years discussing how?

On the promoting from within point, our manager used to look after the youth and he's doing just fine

When are you allowed back Fish?

Apparently 62 of Stoke's 80 arrests last season came in the Checkatrade Trophy when their reserves played Vale. And people say it's a meaningless competition.

It was absolute chaos, but hey 62 arrests watching their U21s get schooled by their hated rivals shows how much it still means to them.

Lucky enough to still remember the proper derby games and that was even worse at times!

What’s interesting from the overall stats is that the highest percentage, by far, of banning orders come in the League Cup. Almost 5 times more than the next (League 2).

Aye poor 45 again, second was the same until a good individual goal by Robson, who only took it on himself because nobody else was in the box!

After that we controlled the game and Wright was constantly fouled everytime he had the ball and was very unlucky not to score a good volley that came back off the post.

Wasn't great but a win and controlled the game when 1 up.

Must say though I've give him 10 games before judging but I'm not impressed with Green, don't know if it's the system or what but he is poor and offers nothing up front. He has had two well taken goals but other than that I'm not impressed. If Rose was fit enough I'd love to see us play both Rose and Wright either side of Hanson. To be fair to Green he's not alone in having poor games but he's not changing my my mind in the Green vs Hearn debate!

Yeah we’re definitely a second half team, much improved and after we scored I never felt like they would equalise, really comfortable which was surprising given how poor we were first half.
And finally the Macclesfield Blundell Park CURSE is lifted!! :woo:

Yes we pass the ball a lot but we are toothless and hopeless defensively. Danny Mayor the only bright spark. Best start clicking soon because we were absolute bollocks. Stats will look good but we are so wasteful

Fuck me, we’ve started winning away as well as at home.

This all feels a bit surreal - going on what I’ve read we’d have been battered last season by putting in the same type of performance, but we’re so resilient at the moment and we seem to be scoring goals for fun now.

Definitely going to enjoy it while it lasts.

We were unlucky at times.. Joel Grant hit the bar and Aimson scored but Tozer threw himself to the floor and the ref wrongly gave a free kick.

We missed so many chances. Mayor tore you apart but fired wide when it mattered. Fair play though, you dug in and got the 3 points.

The ref was hopeless though. Worst ref we’ve had at Home Park for a long time.

Keep creating the chances like we did today and it’ll click soon.. just need our strikers to stay fit.

I’ve read it was our worst performance of the season but we took our chances.

Things tend to even themselves out so I expect the opposite on Boxing Day.

Reading some of the Argyle fans on Twitter has been bloody hilarious though. How dare they lose to little Cheltenham

Yeah we have our fair share of idiots on Twitter. That’s the trouble with having a bigger fan base than nearly every team in this league, some of our fans get a bit entitled.

I liked the little blonde lad you had in midfield, got himself on the ball a lot.

If you think that's funny you should read pasoti (their forum). The entitlement and egos exuding from that lot is hilarious.

That may well be true, but you have DEVON LAD on here who takes the entitlement and ego to new levels. :)

Denzel is another one who while not being on Devon Lads level, will never accept a bad word said against his team of angels and will never accept when he’s wrong.

‘We will get better’

Dempster was right, today was better and the only two proper chances all game were Mansfield 1v1s which we both obviously messed up. Plymouth scored a beauty outside the box, it was tactical naivety and poor finishing that cost us today.

Playing better but still our form is basically relegation so a change is desperately needed before it’s too late.

Sounds and reads like a nitty gritty well battled 3 points today, which we’ll take. After playing a lot of good, pretty football, it’s nice that we showed abit of steel and won.

Man managed the game well, you were fortunate to win but that’s purely down to our inability to score absolute sitters and like I said you managed the game well and obviously got the result. Referee was ridiculous with his whistle but it did not affect the score.

CJ Hamilton went through 1v1 in the first few minutes and his touch literally passed it to the goalkeeper, the lad looks like he cannot play football anymore and we turned down £750,000 for him last January :gmc:
