Did Notts County forget their shorts and socks at the weekend, or was that actually part of their kit?!

If a team wants to make a tactical substitution towards the end of a game when chasing an equaliser, are they allowed to take their keeper off and put a striker on?

Its a mix of their third kit and home bizarrely, not sure why they didn't wear the blue one they had on at Vale Park? We did the same at Chesterfield with yellow shorts and socks with the white top (although looked decent with our yellow trim on the shirt)

Not a problem but someone has to be nominated as keeper and wear the keeper's shirt, wherever they decide to play.

Carlisle v Chesterfield

I thought Chesterfield were a pretty decent team to watch. They were poorly organised and unsophisticated on the ball, but they seemed to have a desire and determination that makes me want to see them stay up, and probably one of the loudest away followings we've had this season, which is impressive given it was far from the biggest and the club are in serious trouble.

As for the game, it was a big improvement on recent performances. Despite that, there was still more negativity than positivity in the tweets and texts to Radio Cumbria after the match. They seemed to think it was another dull performance, I'm not sure what they were comparing it to, perhaps they were thinking of years gone by where we've played exciting football, but if you compare it to any of the last few games I've seen us in then it was a huge amount more entertaining. In either case, even though we're condemned to mid-table this year and so three points doesn't really make a difference, I can still enjoy a win for what it is.

Chesterfield's goalie was a pretty good humoured chap. Is he a loanee? Doesn't seem like a player who is expecting to play in the Conference next year. He was smiling and laughing with the Carlisle fans behind his goal when he had to turn back from running to join in what he thought was celebration of an equaliser, and then applauded the Warwick Road End after the game.
I thought we were poor again, although if that disallowed goal had stood i'd have been happy with a point and we may have pushed on.

Keeper is on loan from Bournemouth so likely he doesn't really care that much, he even pulled himself a bird in town Saturday night so I guess he's had a decent day regardless.

Good day out though, enjoy going to Carlisle it's a long way but plenty of good pubs and a proper football ground.

Sometimes one referee can consider something not a clash and another consider it a clash, though suggesting blue shorts would clash with Newport's black ones is a bit of a stretch.

I know we had similar at Bury once, we had Black Shirts and Shorts and Black Socks against them in Brown and sky Blue halves and the ref somehow deemed it a clash resulting in our assistant rushing to sport direct to get white socks and having to wear our white training tops!

Got to give a round of applause to Trevor Kettle, not for being a bad ref because he gave a decision against us, or because I think he's "biased" but because he has to be the most whistle happy ref in the game. 7 yellow cards, and endless fouls called in a game that wasn't actually that dirty, I thought.

Let us watch the actual football, Trev, not some middle aged accountant interpreting the rules of football. Atrocious.

Jeez is Kettle still going? Thought he'd hung his whistle up years ago. By now he probably has to stop the game every 5 minutes just so he can have a breather.

Must be a Bury thing, we once had to wear Bury's away kit down there.

He pulled a lass from Chesterfield? I guess you've got to keep your chin up after something like that.:fish:

County lost which is a good result for us. Crewe bottle it in stoppage time and Exeter come away with a win. Good response from them.

Tranmere wore our away kit at our place a few seasons back. I remember Notts County doing it too around the turn of the millennium.

We've had to do this multiple times it became a bit of a joke around the club.

Recall we had to play at Huddersfield 15 years back in their red kit (red!), then wore Grimsby's away shirt (Red!) in a cup match, the training shirts at Bury to name a few!

Morecambe at home for us today a team who ruined our chances of promotion in 2015 and 2017,i'd take a lucky 1-0 win as they don't lose by many goals in their games.

I've found enough excuses to catch Stanley v U's on the radio rather than top up my tan on the open terrace at the Wham. Wish I was there and sampling the meat n tatie pies but won't miss the 400 mile round trip - especially as I'm expecting a disappointing end to the winning Dunne Fun Run for the Bobble Hat Army.

Anyone we play can expect a battling play-off standard team and performance these days (too late to be relevant to the actual play-offs). Unfortunately Stanley have an "Automatics" standard, hard nosed, team and a canny scouse manager. May be too soon for Mingoia, Legge and Corr but we'll have a decent bench; Nor did Leon or Piero - saving them to throw at Lu'on next weekend.

A battling draw is a possibility but I'm expecting a 2-1 defeat in front of a decent crowd (although Burnley are at home), with perhaps 320 travelling U's.

Forde
Halliday, Taylor, Taft, Dunk
Deegan
O'Neil, Maris
Brown
Ikpeazu, Waters

Subs: Mitov, Carroll, Darling/Legge, Amoo, Phillips/Mingoia, Ibehre, Elito

Edit: Actual team Elito in for Maris, who presumably hasn't got past the concussion protocol and didn't make the bench; Nor did BBC, Leon or Piero - saving them to throw at Lu'on next weekend.

OK, not League 2, but "General Chat" - why the hell has this forum suddenly become inundated with adverts?

Hmph, getting shat on 3-0 by HT was not quite what I was expecting.

A kick up the arse every now and then to avoid complacency is no bad thing, but this is not what we needed. Anyway, everyone has a bad day at the office now and again - Ainsworth needs to pull one hell of an HT team talk out of the bag...

Chesterfield 2 up is pretty big.

I’d take a 0-0 as it stands. In fact I’d snap your hand off even though we’re playing decent.

Edit: I am a jinx. We are now 1 down.
