We are seemingly interested in Tyler Walker

It's refreshing to see players turning down these big-money transfers for footballing reasons. Neymar, take note.
How many games is he actually going to play for Sheff Utd? Surely in footballing terms he'd be better going somewhere he will play. Must be galling that they accepted a bid for him.

I genuinely hope Isaac doesn't become another Tyrone Barnett - gets a bit seven figure move after 1 good season in the Football League and then his career takes a nosedive. But I suppose we've done our money...

Transfer fees inbound in 2017...

Cameron McJannet - £150,000 plus add ons, brought through the youth system.
Freddie Hinds - £150,000 plus add ons, brought through the youth system.
Andre Gray - £400,000 final payment, bought for £30,000 (grand total transfer around £2.1m)
Cameron McGeehan - £850,000 plus add ons, bought for £180,000.
Jake Gray - £25,000, bought for around the same.
Jack Marriott - £450,000, bought for nothing.
Isaac Vassell - £1,750,000, came in as a TRIALIST.

Grand total around £3,775,000. We might actually make a profit this year.

I trust that money won't disappear like the last big chunk we got for a set of players a few years ago...

Don't Luton do undisclosed figures then?

Kenny knows all fees and all player wages, do you not read his posts?
I thought it was common knowledge on here and Outlaws.
I didn't realise that it was against EFL rules to disclose transfer fees.

:eye:

Maybe it'll just go towards covering the tens of millions of pounds that the investors have already put in over the years and continue to do so with the new ground? How can you even begin to compare the situation to Jayten?! Baffling.

I know... it was a tongue in cheek post.

It's not except most clubs keep it undisclosed including Luton, so you don't know the fees and are just guessing like everyone else.

It was in our CEO's programme notes last week. Apparently it is an EFL rule.

I see nothing in the EFL rules that a transfer must be undisclosed (let me know if you have a source) . Only that the EFL will only approve the transfer once they are satisfied any fees have been paid, and they will keep the fees private and confidential.

Clubs keep fees disclosed for many reasons including not wanting to show they paid too much, sold too low, or because they are complex deals that are not all upfront fees, signing on fees, agent fees, sell on clauses etc. Etc. or even just long contracts (£1m transfer or signed contract for 4 years so worth £250k a year?).

Enough of this Vassell talk, the biggest transfer saga of the summer has just been resolved....Ex Argyle trialist Tyler Harvey, who's been knocking around our training ground for a few weeks, has decided to join Truro City.

I'm absolutely gutted.

It's a club's choice as to whether they disclose a fee or not. Most do not for business reasons - i.e. When purchasing a replacement the selling club doesn't know how much you've got to spend.

Others don't disclose so the fans don't know how much money the owner has siphoned off and not reinvested.

It's a murky area, for me, and one reason why some smaller clubs are used for money laundering.

All fees should be made public and verified

Just watched Jones' interview. He sounds thoroughly pissed off with the way that transfer was handled.

I think he sounds a bit disappointed in Vassell that he wanted to leave and that his level wasn't anywhere near it on Saturday. You could tell he just didn't want to be here.

We don't use the FA rules when talking about transfer fees here, we use the Kenneth E. End rules.

Section 1.7: Publishing Transfer Fees Received
If a Luton fan plucks a number out of thin air for a Luton transfer then add £250-500k on top of it and take it as gospel that this is the amount.

If a fan of any other club takes an amount for a transfer fee received from an official club source, then they absolutely must subtract any add-ons from said fee and only quote the initial payment.

QPR, Charlton and possibly MK Dons are now after Akinde. Looks like it's a matter of time unless his injury is genuine and he fails a medical.

We've allowed centre back Callum Howe to join Eastleigh on loan until January.

Seems like a bit of a risk given all the speculation surrounding Raggett.

Must mean we've been got a replacement all good to go if he does leave. Unless he's planning on using Bostwick as a 3rd choice CB, but I doubt it.

Good day there young man... What do you know about the rumours that Mansfield might bid for you from PSG before the window shuts?

Such a bid would make me sad for the fact they didn't bid before PSG did mate.

I find it most amusing there were one or two who detected no sarcasm whatsoever in comparing Hanson to Mansfield with Neymar to PSG. Maybe I was wrong to mock, perhaps Mansfield truly are the giants of the English game.

I think you are the confused one, the sarcasm was impossible to not detect!

And the latest name mentioned in our quest for the ultimate striker (who when we sign probably will only score 5) is Jonson Clarke-Harris

If that sarcasm couldn't have been picked up, i'd have been quite concerned.

Anyway, we've Danny Rose. :)
