Yep Ampadu has made a few first team appearances in the League Cup plus has been on the bench in Premier League games and has also made he senior Wales debut, at the age of 17.

It’s a shame Chelsea still haven’t paid us for him though, the tight arsed bastards. They offered £400k and we wanted £3M, so it’s going to tribunal.

Don’t tribunals give really shit compensation figures usually? Remember we got hardly anything for Matt Taylor. That was a good few years ago but other figures I’ve seen seem to show they haven’t really kept pace with the market.

Tbh, no I don’t think so. I know I am biased but you could see from day 1 that Ampadu was a cut above when he made his debut at 15.

It’s all hearsay but I have heard since that the club now want nearer to £5m for him but that’s never going to happen. He’s made a real impression since going to Chelsea and I don’t think anyone expected him to get near to the first team so quickly.

Our only other recent experience of the tribunal system was when James Dunne and Troy A-H left us and we got a reasonable deal then.

I’d be pleased with £2m for him and suspect that may be the best we can hope for. Just hope it’s sorted soon so that we can use the money.

Problem with these tribunals is that although he's done well at Chelsea so far, none of that is taken into account when setting a fee. It's only to do with his time at Exeter.

As will the robbing so-called "super agents" demanding an 8 figure cut in the game which League Two footballers almost certainly won't have. On the other hand, lower league clubs are still in the same world of hardship and strife as they've always been however, and the top clubs will have them right where they want them. Unless the lower league clubs get lucky with a bidding war for a player's services, they're gonna be given sweet fa. Lower league clubs are also reliant on player sales to balance their books, so gone are the days when they can squeeze the top clubs for every penny and, thanks to good old Mr Bosman and the shorter contract lengths in the lower leagues, the player has the power to force through the move as it could financially harm the club, so clubs will often settle for less as it keeps them in business for the foreseeable future.

Besides, fourth tier defenders will never go for £3 million unless inflation becomes astronomically bad in Britain. It just doesn't happen. The odd goalscorer at this level might (as Nick Powell did with us) but it's a common fact that clubs won't see the value in a defender compared to a goalscorer. If Andy Robertson cost £10 million from a relegated PL side in Hull, do you really think a League Two side could command a fee that's 30% of that? Maybe 10% at best with a nice 20% sell on, but nothing more...

Just a few points

• He's a defender/midfielder
• He is widely regarded as one of the best players for his age in the country
• All of the top clubs in the Prem wanted to sign him
• He was being called up to the Wales squad while he was still an ECFC player

Calling him just "a League 2 centre half" is incredibly disingenuous. Chelsea knew in the Summer they weren't signing just some 16 year old kid from a League 2 club. He's played 7 times for their 1st team this season, that doesn't just happen if you're only a young player with potential.

Those at Exeter and Chelsea know his worth, despite the "huge disparities" in what has been offered, and what we would like. Have to wait and see what the tribunals decision will be.

Was probably Chelsea's best player when we played them in the checkatrade semi. Big future if he keeps his head in the right place, good luck to him!

Surely you sign him if he's available/wants to sign regardless of how many midfielders you've got? Regardless of whether you go up or stay down, it's all about improving your squad and there is no doubt Barton is a better player than what you've got currently in that position

Cowleys have been offered new contracts, it seems. Could be the biggest signing of the season if we increase/remove their release clauses and the them down for longer. Current deals signed in January last year run til 2021, release clause rumoured to be £1m-1.25m.

If a team offered £1m for your management team (or any management team at this level), you should take it. Success won't last forever and the manager is always the one that gets the blame.

Looking ahead, unsurprisingly Leeds et al are looking to sign Jack Marriott in the summer from Peterborough for around £5m which would be quids in for us with a decent size sell on fee, reportedly more than 20%. A £4m bid was rejected in the winter.

If it was 20% of the profit, we would receive around £900,000.

Doing very well on sell on clauses last few years. Three strikers - Gray, Vassell and Marriott. Cost us £30,000 between them for us to sign them + wages. Combined transfer income, potentially going to be over £5m. Incredible numbers.

The Beast has signed on for another season wether it will be in League 1 or 2 IF we go up his expereince will be a real asset with the way he looks after our younger players on and off the pitch.

There will be a fair amount of interest in Stockley soon I imagine. He’s only 24 and has scored 21 goals in all comps this season, which is excellent considering he didn’t start a game till mid September.

I’d say his only flaw to succeed in the Championship is his lack of pace so perhaps a top end L1 club with a decent budget could be more realistic.

From our point of view he’s still got over 2 years on his deal and we paid £100K for him so I’d imagine a bid of over £1M in today’s bloated market would be required. He’s a great striker though and is dangerous in the air as well as on the ground.

It would take a long long time aswell as sustained success before you could even merely consider that the pendulum had swung your way...

Really? I used to live in Edinburgh and follow Hearts a bit. Their current strike force is Kyle Lafferty and Steven Naismith, both internationalists. I would have thought Uche Ikpeazu is a serious downgrade!!

He's continuously getting better though whilst they're both on the way down, maybe he won't start for them straight away next season but I've no doubt he'll benefit from better coaching and better facilities up there and end up doing well.

Disappointing but not surprising he's going and a shame we're not going to get anything back financially, but he's been a great asset for us and very, very entertaining to watch. Glad he's not ended up at a bottom end League One team or even worse someone else in this division.

Was highly rated as a youth player with Reading and joined us but never got a chance .

Pleased he had done well since for you guys and got a move to a club playing at a high level - they must see him as likely to improve once more .

I liked Uche at Vale but he was very up and down and we got shot after his red card for diving against Burton.

When Enoch Andoh was fit that he and Enoch were unplayable but once he got crocked ending his career Uche was never the same for us after that. Should do OK in the SPL as most teams are of League One standard.
