Not sure how credible the source is but hearing George Ray will sign for the Vale this summer.

Bishop always looks quality whenever I have seen him play but can only see him signing if Jones leaves for a bigger club. Since his Preston deal fell through, I would be suprised to see a L1 or Championship side take a punt on him next season, been poor by his standards.

Yes, he's prone to making a mistake once every couple of games and he usually pays for it.

However, when he cuts that out he's an excellent centre-back at this level. Can pass the ball comfortably but fancies himself as a ball-playing centre back so will sometimes try to play his way out of trouble. Typically league 2 player I guess with consistency.

Ben Whitfield from Vale is a rumour

As is Bishop from Mansfield

Bish is not going anywhere, and if he did I would be horrified, I imagine we gave him a two year deal anyway.

I dont envision any deals done early until the take over is complete, assuming it goes through.

Been keeping an eye on Ashley Nadesan's contract situation at Fleetwood. He hasn't signed an extension yet, be interesting to see how that goes. There's no obvious reason for him stalling as he's playing games and doing well, and Fleetwood aren't exactly stingy with contract offers but he wasn't happy at Fleetwood before being recalled this season, Rosler had ignored him, Barton is the one who saw his potential and now Barton is embroiled in all sorts of trouble. Could be that if Barton goes then Nadesan will also want to go. One to watch.

Local papers round here are saying we have shook hands with Mr Nadesan. Nothing official though.

Could have wings as he is originally from around this way. He used to work at the Gatwick Airport McDonald's if I recall correctly. Mind you, he also has family in Blackpool.

I believe we will be looking for a new strike force as rumours are Palmer is off to Southend and Poleon just hasn't done it for us.

Luke Gambin spoke to some fans and said he is hoping to get a contract here. I don't know what his terms are with Luton but, with the best will in the world, he isn't a Championship player so could be true.

Didn't know he had family in Blackpool, just assumed he was at Fleetwood because they were the ones that spotted him. Can definitely see Crawley being a draw in terms of location, I remember when we played you he made a point of visiting Horley Town, but I thought he would have better ambitions than to drop back down to League Two. I only ever imagined we might have a chance to sign him if we somehow got promoted to League One.

Technically a year extension as was under contract another year (yes unbelievably we've been pro-active for once)

Huge news though as he has been unbelievably good. Best keeper in the league IMO.

Exactly...

Tideswell tweeted last night about following Baggely as its a big week for Vale and KTF so hopefully its close. Rumours all over the place of Tuesday being the day but what if any substance we will have to see.

Excellent news that Brown has signed an extension. It's not an exaggeration to say without him we'd be kicking off next year in the Conference. A great professional and also a really nice bloke as well, really pleased with this. As noted above if we are agreeing extensions and also the player is willing to commit it's a good sign the takeover may be close to being done hopefully.

When Nadesan was scoring for fun for Horley Town there were a number of clubs trying to get him. Us, Wimbledon and Gillingham spring to mind but he chose Fleetwood as they offered a better deal.

This could be one of those " spotted in town, 2+2=5" scenarios though.

Paul Green has had a 12 month contract extension 'triggered'. He's been magnificent this season. Even at 36 and breaking his leg mid-way through the season. We're probably milking the last of his career but his presence is as important as anything. We've got the players for him to only play a bit part next season if needed but no signs yet of his legs going.

If Ray ends up at Vale that'd be hilarious. Cutting his ties here as if he was destined to move upwards only to make a backwards step. I wouldn't have thought Vale are currently in a position to be tying players down at the moment. It'd be surprising if he doesn't sign for someone currently above us, the P'boro rumour is strong.

I'd hope we snap the hands off anyone who offers money for Jones. Not only poor and in the team purely as he's a saleable asset, but I don't think he's got the pace for anyone to take him. Green is more mobile at 13 years his senior.

to be fair, our new owners should be announced in the next few days, and we will be a different proposition next season, but I don't think we will be bothering the top 7 or even close. We have already extended Scott Browns contract earlier today.

Yeah hardly a backward step going from Crewe to Vale. Shit league two club to a slightly shitter one which is about to be free of the shackles of its main cause of decline.

If rumours and expected outcome is true this time next week we should be finally looking forwards and having owners actually wanting to progress the club and not their wallets.

We’ve already started new deals with Brown today and more news to come this next week apparently (assume the sale, Askey then hopefully new deals)

That said Ray doesn’t excite me, need strikers really. Got a sufficient enough defence if we keep Clarke and Crookes, probably just need a left back and maybe another centre half as cover for Legge and Smith.

Exciting times for once.

Like I said, I'm not sure how credible the source is about signing for Port Vale but also hearing the Peterborough rumor is gathering some momentum. Shame really as Posh tend to pick up any half decent prospects from the lower leagues these days.

Paul Green - Delighted he's staying on for another 12 months. Clearly enjoys still playing and puts 100% in every game, even when he has the occasional stinker. I would be happy with the midfield of Wintle, Lowery and Green next season. If Jones goes then that's fine, but can't see anybody coming in for him after this season but will mean we will need another addition as we will not get 40+ games out of Paul Green next season. Hope Hunt signs for another year too!

Mitch Clark has tweeted that he has been let go by Aston Villa... Vale are keen to keep him after his season long loan and been outstanding for us. Hoping we can get this one done.

Still grates now that Johnson wasn't prepared to meet Wycombe's £5k valuation of him in 2017!!!

Don't get me wrong, Flinders hasn't let us down, but Scotty was on his way to becoming a Cheltenham legend.

Rumours this afternoon that Ricky Miller has left the club/is leaving, has a year left so assume a mutual agreement.

Ricky Miller a big loss for you? I know he doesn't have the best goal return looking at the stats but everytime I've seen him play, he's always been a handful with his work-rate.
