Looks like we've resigned Zoom Bakayago. Was on trial with us last couple of friendlies.

Not sure what he's like now, its been a few years since I last seen him, but its a position we needed strengthening. I don't rate Ridehalgh and he's suspended first three games anyway.

A few trialists in for us today.

"The Imps fielded trialists Juan Luque, Toby Edser, Adam Crookes, Choz Charlesworth, Sean Murray and Alex Clark.

Winger Luque, who starred for Heybridge Swifts last season, figured in the Imps’ previous friendlies, as did midfielder Edser and defender Crookes, who are part of Nottingham Forest’s Under-23 Development squad.

Charlesworth was released by Forest at the end of last season.

Midfielder Murray, 24, left Colchester United this summer after failing to agree a new contract, while young winger Clark was let go by Southend United at the end of last season."

Seemingly we are signing midfielder Diagoraga from Fleetwood. We had him on loan as a kid yonks ago. 31 now, but should be a solid signing.
Cracking signing that for Swindon.

He totally bossed the game at MK when playing for Plymouth, then a month later did the same for Fleetwood when we played them at Highbury

We played Heybridge in the FA Cup and Luque was their stand out player that day, so could be worth a look.

As in you know the specific reason and it wasn't what was released in the club statement/his interviews? Spill the beans??
Seeing as I can’t PM you, I’ll just say that his wife hated it in Grimsby and wanted to move back home. If he didn’t, it would mean them splitting up. According to a players family member anyway.

Ridehalgh out injured currently as well.

Zoum seems to have done reasonably in the pre-season games. Crewe didn’t think he was worth another deal, interested in any thoughts their fans have as to whether he’s good enough for L2 level now?

He's alright. Wasn't flat out terrible in many games for us, but also didn't have many standout moments either. He can put in a decent cross every now and again, but a lot of his deliveries would sail over the ball despite him being in a good position. His defending is also suspect at times. Can't say I was disappointed to see him go, very average L2 defender.

Carlisle are holding open trials this weekend in a desperate attempt to put a squad together for the season ahead.

Ex pros looking to get back into the game and young Sunday league players are what the club are looking for but anyone can turn up and try their luck as long as you don’t mind a salary of £400 a week.

So if you still have dreams of being a footballer, get yourself down there on Saturday morning. Bring boots (studs and moldies), shin pads and a packed lunch.

Admittedly I only saw him the once last season but Bakayoko was dire at SJP back in September. His positioning was awful and Lee Holmes took the piss out of him all game. I’m sure that was a really off day but he was awful

All we've heard this way is that Posh made an offer of £1m, but it was made up of loads of add-ons more than an up front price, Pompey had made 3 offers, all of which were under £1m and Sunderland have offered £1m but no idea of the breakdown or whether it's all up front.

The simple fact is we value him at £1.5m, he's on contract until 2020 and we don't need to sell. Whether he's worth that much or not is irrelevant. We also understand a number of Championship clubs (Brentford and Bristol City are two I've heard mentioned) are interested and he wants to play as high as possible.

As for how good he actually is - I'm in two minds on this, and I'll be the only Cheltenham fan with this view. He scored 25 goals in a poor team. No doubt his goals kept us safe from any real danger last season. However, I only saw him in home games and he only scored 7 at Whaddon Road - 3 of which were in one game against Port Vale. He is clearly a very talented lad, however, he appears to do very well when playing off the defender's shoulder and struggles when facing up to a defence. I don't think he's at Championship standard and he's 24 now, so isn't going to improve dramatically over the next few years - then again, was his lack of goals at Whaddon Road down to his supporting act?

If Pompey have offered £1.3m with the vast majority (£1m at least) up front, then I would make them faves for his signature. I still see the club holding out for £1.5m though.

Brentford may be waiting for Watkins to be sold before they sign Eisa. Rumours are a couple of Prem clubs (Palace and Watford) want Watkins for 10mn plus.

We have signed Christian Oxlade Chamberlain from Pompey. Right back or right midfielder

20 year old, competition for the always consistent ‘slug’ Toots at right back.

Surely no more Mr Chairman? Nolan has been fully backed and must be delighted

Oxlade Chamberlain really stood out when we played Oxford City in the FA Cup so presumably we’ve tracked him since then. Was the last position for me that was a must with only Tootle as a recognised right back, probably be us done.

Hope Watkins stays 1 more year with Brentford and scores 15 goals plus as this time next year his value will be huge and if we have a 20% sell on we will be laughing.

A lot of good feelings about this signing. (and 2 more close apparently) I was beginning to think we were going to drift around mid-table this season, but I think Diagouraga should be able to boss the midfield and i reckon he'll make a big difference as our 'enforcers' last season were Dunne and Linganzi and they just didn't really work. We also have Jak McCourt and Martin Smith added to our midfield so if PB can get them playing I think we should be comfortably around the top half. Whether or not we challenge is down to who we can bring in next. We are short of centre and right backs so I think we are prioritising those positions to bring in real quality. Kaine Woolery and Marc Richards are our injured so we may also need another striker.

Sneaky playoff push from you lot, I reckon. How long is Richards out for?

Tranmere pass on a player due to finances and he goes to Salford, but people here probably still don’t think they’re spending much.

Adam Rooney 5k a week there. Danny Lloyd on a pay rise from £1.6k + bonuses at Peterborough

Easily spending £3-4m which is double their turnover.

As much as i would love my club to be splashing the cash, this lot just don't sit right with me.
Never really heard of them till the Man Utd lot jumped on board now all of a sudden i expect them to be in League one within 3 years.
Hopefully the next Rushden and Diamonds.

We are done for permanent signings now. I think so too, excellent first 11 and good competition.
Maybe a loan left which I hope is Bennet.
Very happy with the squad. Just hope with the pace we now have we use it better.
