Yeah. I can’t believe you’ll sign them, tbh.

I'd have Doyle back in a heartbeat

It's also being reported we want a million for Edmundson

So the CB from League 2 is Tom Parkes of Carlisle who we signed today. Looks like he’s the typical brick shithouse lower league centre half and someone we’ve lacked since Troy Brown got injury after injury. Carlisle fans, is he a solid signing?

And in other news Hiram Boateng has signed for MK....Never saw that coming. Great player and will need to be replaced somehow, but having said that he did miss half of last season so it’s not the end of the world. Losing Stockley was far more damaging.

Believe he’s a CB, but could be anyone.

Gillesphey at Carlisle has been mentioned but don’t know much about him other than he came through Newcastle’s academy

It's Tom Parkes. Good solid defender, likes to bomb forward.

Gillesphey has indeed left the club but people seem to suggest it will be something like a move abroad. He said it was for a new challenge and I guess people are assuming that's genuine rather than a euphemism for 'it's shit here I want to go somewhere better'

Our own transfer activity seems to have dried up. We've probably run out of money... oh well, at least we've got a goalkeeper (two in fact) on the books for next season.

Cheers. Sounds like a solid signing and will head everything and basically be a ‘Matt Taylor’ type of player...

Based on what? Saw someone post about it on Exeweb but is there anything more substantial?

Apparently we're interested in Luke Gambin, released from Luton and on loan at Crawley last year.

I megged Tom Parkes in a school game once and hit a worldie of a shot that hit the Post and somehow stayed out. Had it gone in I reckon I'd be FL now and Parkes playing for a 6 a side team called Werder Beermen...

Exeter have signed 2 players who were with us when we went down when last in League Two.

To be fair to them both, we had our problems off the pitch. Plus I thought they were two of our better players in the beginning of that season, Atangana in particular. But both by the end stopped giving a shit (Like most of the senior players did), with both claiming to be injured once our idiot owner decided not to pay any of his staff...............

In other news - We've been linked with Josh Wright for the third time in a year, we need 2 central midfielders.

Hopefully they won’t be as bad as Lloyd James....

I think both are solid enough signings but we need better if we’re going to improve on last season.

Be a good move for all parties, that. He’s disliked around these parts.

Poor season or not, but some of the abuse he has received is embarrassing.

Surely Day is off to league one or the championship?

I very much doubt we will get him. Think it’s just another silly season rumour but more than happy to be proven wrong as he’s a great ‘keeper.

Rumarn Burrell, one of our striker youth graduates that we offered a pro contract to in April has gone to Middlesborough for an undisclosed fee.

Radio Humberside reporting it as 100k
Missed that one. Interesting stuff. If it's a 100k with a sell on that's a right deal for someone who has played what...four times off the bench?? A shame that we won't get to see what he can do for us, but at that age and with that lack of experience it's kind of a no-brainer if that fee is correct. More evidence that our academy is moving in the right direction too. Hopefully, we'll see some of that going back into the wage budget or the academy.

I thought Gambin had an ok season with us (Crawley) and we are, apparently, trying to sign him too. Energetic, little winger who can do well at a no10 role. Like all our players from last season there seemed to be something missing.

Oh, I do mean little too. Knee high to a grasshopper.

Not a bad signing but fact we released him says where he is at, runs around a lot, lacks end product is probably the best description.

We really lacked energy in the wide areas last season which left our fullbacks exposed at times so no surprise to see CC has brought in a player who has lots of energy and can give the fullback some extra protection.

Against us your front three were full of energy? Caused us loads of problems, Hepburn Murphy, Brown and Amoo IIRC?

Hannant isn’t a bad player. Don’t expect him to pull up too many trees but he will do a solid job for you. Personally I would have kept him as a squad player.

Hepburn-Murphy was on loan, Amoo left and Brown may well be sold if a bid from a higher division comes in.

I don't mind signing Hannant, far from a terrible signing but also a difficult one to be excited about. If our budget is limited this summer that may be a recurring theme.

Very few signings at this level are exciting tbh. Not terrible is pretty good going.

Hoping Derby cash in on Jayden Bogle. We’re due 20% of any fee, believed to be £10-15m.

Whether that would be spent on the squad is another matter.

Yeah great going forward but Amoo and Brown on the wings left us exposed when we weren’t on the front foot so CC has recognised that by signing a player who will be up and down.

Hannant being released was a surprise as he was a regular and unlike some who’ve gone or been listed he wasn’t pushed out the side.

We don’t know which players Askey was referring to when he stated he has seen things unprofessional that hadn’t seen in his 30 year career before but the rumoured ones were again pushed out the squad.

This issue with Hannant I would say from our point of view is we have a work horse engine on the other flank who’s far better in terms of David Worrall who we’ve quickly tied up thankfully. What we need is pace in attack and a powerful winger seems to be the requirement especially on our wide pitch to improve our home problems. Hence the link with the likes of Cowan Hall. I assume he’s gone purely to accommodate a more pacey, tricky winger or two to compliment Wozza.

Hope you see more of it in your squad than we did the Hugill sell on money (1.8 million)

Hope this is correct. Would cover our playing budget for the season if it's 12 million upwards.

Probably be paid in instalments over 10 years or something silly mind.
