He did very well in his time at Sixfields, probably a better player than League One at the time.
He rejected a new contract from us then signed for Gillingham, which surprised us but...

Can't really blame him to be fair.

Zak will do fine in League Two, he's a great pro who just wouldn't have got into our side this season unfortunately, but still has the desire and ability.

Good luck to him.

 We were surprised because we were expecting for him to go to a Championship club, not one that had finished below us in the league.

Never good enough with his feet for the Championship. Incredible head-it, kick-it, brutal-two-footed-lunge-on-the-dangerman defender, but we laughed* our tits off when Fulham stumped up a million quid for him.

*Admittedly we stopped laughing when we realised that Clayton Fortune was his replacement.

I see Sam Hornby has gone on loan to Fylde from Bradford.
Genuinely expected him to challenge for the number one spot at Bradford too.

Didn’t even play in the last JPT game whatever it’s called, was never going to start in front of O’Donnell but good on him for wanting games.

Surprisingly only 33 years old

Great first season with us once Davis left but his 2017-18 season showed how badly his legs had gone compared to the rest of the side. I know he's had a lot of injuries in the last few years but I think non league is genuinely his level. Couldn't make much of an impact for Bury or Tranmere last year.

A good honest pro though and I hope he does well.

Talking of players with 'faults', saw that Liam Noble signed for Morpeth the other week. Still only 28, what a waste.

No it is a weird one. Definitely good enough in my humble opinion. Can't profess to know a lot about O'Donnell ( ex Wigan ? ) but he was never going to dislodge Brown at Vale either.

Mind you as i said at the time , Bradford bench is preferable to Vale bench all day long.

You won't find an argument about Jimmy Smith here....well the quite good bit. Thing is he needed games after a career threatening injury that kept him out for the whole if last season and the thing about cruciate injuries is you never know until it's tested.

The fact we have him a new contract while in the middle of his rehabilitation says what the club think of him too.

Get fit at Yeovil and he will be like a new signing in January. :)

Yeovil fans seem happier since they went out of the football league. I don’t just mean you, I see them on twitter, they seem to be loving conference life.

Is it not the hell hole these days that we all fear?

If you're winning, a season in the Conference is reinvigorating. To be fair, until this season, the 15/16 season was our best since 11/12, or 12/13. And I include all 3 of our seasons since then as well. After promotion we basically struggled for half a season before pulling ourselves out of the shit.

I imagine if you get relegated and are then shite in the Conference then it is a hell hole, but for us it was bloody brilliant.

Well we were in the conference for 1 season back in 2005 and I absolutely hated it. The football was shite, the grounds were shite, the away followings were shite, even the playoff final was shite. The only bit of it I enjoyed was the final whistle and the feeling of relief about getting out of the cesspit.

The following season back in League 2 I enjoyed about a hundred times more.

It is (especially for northern sides), but I’d imagine the Yeovil fans are just happy being back in non league where they belong, doing their bit for the Natural Order.

I saw Yeovil at Aldershot a couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday night, they won 3-1 with a noisy following of nearly 400. A lot of familiar ex League players including four exCobblers!!
I think that that was their sixth or seventh win in a row?

Not a massive fan of that signing at all. Clearly a dickhead.
