Would you believe there are still Cheltenham fans who don't rate him. An old guy who sits by me is adamant he's useless.

Then again, I'm always disagreeing with him on players - he still maintains Danny Wright is of Football League standard (he isn't btw).

He has been outstanding for us, i'd go as far as saying without him we'd be preparing for life in the National League this season.

I know that, but I’d heard you’d bid £75,000 for him.

Where did you hear that?

Not saying it's wrong btw, all I'd heard was £25k rejected.

Anyway we've just announced triallist Dom Bernard has signed on a 1 year deal. 22 year old versatile right back, released by Birmingham was on loan at Aldershot last season. Local lad who used to come and watch us, which is nice.

Can’t remember. May have been on our forum. Vince upped his ‘derisory’ initial offer.

They wanted £250k, not sure how much they'd be willing to drop their price, McAnthony and Fry are hardly known for being reasonable or realistic in negotiations.

Michael Harriman and Jon Obika are apparently on trial with us.
So Obika got bombed after trialling at Stevenage.

The Swindon Obika would be way too good for L2. Unfortunately, after being tainted at Oxford (spits) he’s now a sick note.

Been away on me hols. I made it rain in Malta! Things have been busy down in Crawley. Here's what I can remember.

Goalkeeper Michael Luyambula signs in a season long loan from Birmingham. They've given him a new contract so they must rate him. Glenn Morris was our player of the season so I'm not sure how much he will play.

Nathan Fergusson signs from Dulwich Hamlet. Central midfield. We are definitely full up there.

Jordan Tunnicliffe central defender who was at Fylde last season. Turned down a contract offer from them to come to us on a two year deal. A top of the conference defender last season trying to make the step up. That means we have three proper centre defenders.

Ricky German is on trial at Hendon, as is Ibrahim Meite. That's two of our host of forwards we are, at least, trying to move on.

Another of our forwards Reece Grego-Cox signs a contract extension. A busy bee forward who spent most of last season on the bench.

Coach Nathan Rooney has left the club. He wanted to be closer to his family in the north...expect him to join Melbourne or some such. Incoming is part time goalkeeping coach Dean Lightwood and full time coach Edu Rubio who has left MK Dons under 23s and has a uefa pro licence to his name.

If I've forgotten anyone I apologize.

Thats the issue, Scott Brown has been so good and so reliable essentially your coming in as a number 2 and only a number 2 which is a hard sell I guess... hence why Hornby left.

But Hornby is and will be number two here.

Looked like Jose Baxter was a trialist for the Stags tonight against Blackburn. Thought he was still at Oldham.

Slight difference being Vale number 2 or Bradford number 2 i reckon.( wages, size of club )
You might be surprised by him though i guess if the other keeper is number one in the friendlies that is a gauge

Hurst has said he still wants 3 more signings, will mean we need to get rid of some players though very quickly. Can see Van Veen on the chopping block, Hurst doesn't rate him and he was relegated to playing with the u23s last night. Cant said I would shed a tear if he was let go.

Turns out the lad from Coventry who told everyone how rich he was whilst off his head is an absolutley terrible footballer. Hope Dempster isn't going to sign him.

Michael Harriman and Jon Obika are apparently on trial with us.
The Obika rumour probably isn't true or at least if it is it doesn't seem like he's trialing with us right now.

Interestingly George Maris is training with the team again. Obviously he hasn't received the amount of interest he expected.

Someone on our forum put a picture of Big Jon playing for Stevenage. He seems to have put on a bit of beef over the last year or so. Ironic that he had 'Burger King' on his shirt.

Michael Harriman would be a solid signing, so I hope we make a quick decision on him. Sounds like Hoolahan is a done deal with him having a squad number already and Calderwood claiming it will be confirmed next week.

We still need two strikers and a left back before the season starts. If we can get Maris to sign a deal too that would be an added bonus.

I imagine he is on quite a wedge as well, it was rumoured one of our top earners when he was here. Said that hes better than League 2 so cant see him wanting to stay anyway.

We’ve now got some striker who has scored about 2 goals in 100 games in non league.

We really are in a desperate state. No strikers whatsoever, still trialling low quality ones.

I honestly think we might end up relegated with a record low amount of points. The squad is that weak and in particular once hope is sold I can’t see where any goals will come from to even make a relegation battle into an actual battle.

Probably on a little bit yeah. I remember when we originally sold him to you, our director came out and said we couldn't afford what Northampton were paying him. Interested to see if he had to take a wage cut to come back or we agreed to his demands. Either way it's a waste.

What’s the problem at Carlisle at the min - financial constraints?....as there’s plenty of OK strikers for this league available at present.

A defensive partnership of Webster and Knight-Percival seems on the face of it to be good additions (compared to our defence at the moment) + Bridge who I think can be a great signing. Carlisle fans were like this last year and they were fine.

Ideally we need another winger to replace Amoo.

A sporting director (David Holdsworth) who lives in a different world where apparently players will run up to Carlisle for a 50p an hour wage and a 1 year contract.

The number of targets we’ve been “close to signing” who’ve all of a sudden ended up elsewhere is ridiculous.

That’s the main problem.

The manager Pressley isn’t great in my opinion but this seasons relegation will not be down to him. He’s been badly let down by Holdsworth.

We've signed Theo Vassell. Wonderful.

No keepers yet. Could be interesting when we play Carlisle and their plethora of front men.

Steady enough, didn't quite seem EFL level and wasn't consistent but had some decent performances.
