We have two.

One is 36 years old, injured with no expected date for return.

The other is Bodvarsson, who you were happy enough to sell despite it leaving you with one striker.

Going after ten different strikers in the Summer was all well and good, but you have to actually sign some..

We did the same thing, linked with an endless list of strikers and ended up with none of them. Still we are the 3rd highest scorers so far so it's not of paramount concern at the moment.

Home tie vs palace for us. Another premier league team that I think we could beat.. dissapointed to again miss one of the bigger teams though.

Probably beat them if they don't have their first 11 out, decent draw.

Palace at home.
Uninspiring but winnable for the third round in a row.

Rather amusingly had Rovers won, they would have been ball 3 in the draw instead of Palace.
Wolves winning denied them of their cup final.

-------------------------------

Can't wait for our game away to City. We're taking around 6k fans up there so going to be a great atmosphere in our end. Even City's reserves are better than most Premier League sides so unless a miracle happens we might be on the wrong end of a 3 or 4 nil. Still our own reserves have beat Yeovil, Southampton and Bristol Rovers so far so have proven they can hold their own. If we can by chance keep it to 0-0 at half time I think we may have a chance to counter in the 2nd half and snatch a goal. We're 20/1 to win the game which even considering how good Man City are is still quite generous, I'll be having a fiver on it anyway. No idea on the team, I think we'll make a few changes from the Preston game though.

Norris
Boly - Bennett - Hause
Marshall -------------------- Vinagre
Price - N'Diaye
Costa --------------- Zyro
Enobakhare

Prediction: 4-1 to Man City.

I got my ticket for our defeat tomorrow night, but might be needed as a volunteer somewhere that evening, so don't actually know yet if I am going.

Yep you'll lose 5 nil tommorrow and definitely get relegated this season I mean you're on an absolutely shocking run after all a big run of 1 defeat on the bounce, certs for the drop and out the cup.

Not sure it really matters but Leeds playing tommorrow may give us a tiny advantage for Friday night but as professional footballers in the championship I should hope they can play twice in 4 days

No way are we going down this season (think you have me mixed with JJH).
But we have a habit of letting teams end their bad runs when they play use (though I'm sure most clubs fans think that of themselves, bar the top few clubs)

They ended there bad run last week by beating the champions. You've got a great chance of reaching the quarters tommorrow, something I can't recall you doing in a while.

It is about as good a chance as we could have been given.
Rather face Palace than Wolves.
Our last QF game was late 80s, we played a good Forest team in the Semis that year, losing in (I think) extra time.
But in my lifetime we have almost always been useless in cups (JPT aside)

Saw somewhere we've sold 18k tickets for this game? Assuming it's potd (hoping it is as I haven't got my ticket yet) we should get around the 20k mark

Was "approaching 18,000" on the clubs Twitter earlier.

Expect it will be POTD, Upper Lansdown has been opened, but get there with time to spare, POTD queues at this stage against Hull were massive.

Yeah they were quite long with the stoke game to be fair, haven't learnt my lesson! Should get there in plenty of time, might go in the lansdown upper for a change actually didn't realise it was open tomorrow night.

Will be similar to the Burnley game j guess, especially as we have a big game on Friday. No reason we can't go there with a chance though.

Wiedwald

Ayling
Jansson
Shaughnessy
Borthwick-Jackson

Vieira
Klich
Anita

Sacko
Grot
Roofe

Or something.

Think we should rotate and save the legs of the players we intend to play on Friday in the league. It'd be nice to go on a cup run but would prefer us to try and keep some momentum in the league.

Similar team as the above:

Weidwald

Ayling (can't think of another right back)
Pontus
Shaughnessey
CBJ

Anita
Klich
Sacko
Roofe

Cibicki

Would imagine Leicester will shuffle the pack too for the same reason.

Aye you tell him Blade, City169 is a right negative bastard and for no apparent reason.

Steele
Vyner Flint Wright Magnusson
O'Dowda Pack Brownhill Eliasson
Diedhiou Taylor

Could be any result.

Only 2 points of contention with that team, whether LJ has the trust in Vyner, if not then shift Wright to RB, Mags to CB and Kelly at LB. LJ has said that he trusts Kelly for any one off game but not sure he could handle Saturday/Tuesday regularly. Taylor depends on whether his suspension will be upheld if not it will be Reid in, Djuric potentially on the bench, although after that we're very light on striker options should we get an injury.

If Taylors red isn't rescinded we could see Arnie in the squad.
He's been on fire for the u23s recently.

Whether he gets on the pitch is another matter.

Expect Kelly to play, from what I hear he is one of our brightest ever academy products and has potential to be better than Bryan. Vyner not so highly rated though.

Somehow I'd feel more confident going with 1 striker and pushing the wingers on then bringing Garita on if a striker were to go down early.

Boro at home tonight. I see they've not had the best start to the Championship? Middling without being too far out of contention, in as congested a division as ever!

Normally Howe makes at least 9 changes for a cup game, often all 11 (much to our annoyance sometimes). However at the moment we're really short on numbers due to injuries, mostly in defence. So at least in defence he might be forced into playing full strength. Or if we do change it it'll be a youth team backline, which could go very wrong.

At the weekend we have Chelsea, where we'd most likely lose regardless. So why not make tonight's side as strong as it can be and give ourselves as good a shot at Boro as possible.

Any Boro fans coming all the way down for tonight - absolute fair play to 'em. That trek for a night game deserves a pint.

Fuck me the arrogance from some City fans on 5 live this morning. One says "I hadn't heard of Wolves until Sunday morning when I saw on TV we were playing them in the cup". It's a shame as Man City used to be a decent old fashioned respected club. Now the arabs have taken them to the next level half the fuckers wouldn't even remember what Maine Road was.

A lot of their fans have always been arrogant. Even before they got their money.
