Fuck me it's worse than I thought. The apathy among our fans has hit a new high.

I just hope people go into the shop/ring up and buy tickets tomorrow morning after our win this weekend or we'll be an even bigger laughing stock than we already are. I'm bringing a couple of Nobbers with me so I'm doing my bit to help

What next. All third round matches will kick off at 12pm on the Tuesday and Wednesday so everyone in Asia can watch the matches in the evening.

Another nail in the coffin of the league cup, every chance it will no longer be a competition in 10 years

Needs fucking off getting stupid now, just have the FA Cup and do it right. ie endless replays, Semi finals not played at Wembley (Maybe Millennium), the winners gaining entry to the Champions League and the final played at 3pm on the Saturday after the Premier League season ends.

Until the latter rounds no one cares about the League Cup and even the FA Cup has lost its sparkle in the earlier rounds compared to what it once was.
Years since they both meant something, nowadays some fans want their teams to lose so they can concentrate on the League. Quite sad really.

thankfully it's Newport (no disrespect) so we should be ok but......................

we've got a bit of an issue tonight, regarding Forwards, Wood (sold), Antonsson (loan) Ekuban (injured) and Doukara due to be sold to a club so not playing

fuck me, looks like a youngster will be stepping up tonight, like to see Eoghan Stokes but it will probably be Malik Wilks (he played twice last season)

Good god, our team is very young tonight. 5 given their first ever Town start! I don't blame Mick considering how well we've started! We made it through round 1, that's enough for me :gr:

6 teenagers start;
Tristan Nydam -17
Flynn Downes - 18
Ben Folami -18
Patrick Webber -18
Luke Woolfenden -18
George Fowler -19

Absolutely the right decision give our injury predicament at the moment. Good luck, boys, no pressure!

We've made a few changes for tonight but still a very strong side and more than capable of beating Bolton.

No idea how we're lining up for this one:
Jaakkola; Gunter, Ilori, Andresson, Bacuna; Rinomhota, Evans, Quinn; Popa, McCleary; Smith
Subs: Legg, Barrow, Clement, Blackett, Barrett, East, Loader

I would say that is basically a reserve team, with 3-4 first choice to give some strength.

I hope Loader (16 year old striker) gets some gametime. Played the most minutes and scored the most goals in our pre-season, but don't think he's had any match time since.

Beat a strong Watford team after 9 changes. That was unexpected.

Very disappointed to go out tonight, we made 7 changes but it was still a very strong side and Bolton were resting a few players as well. Abysmal performance for 75 minutes going 3-0 down, then the only real positive of the game was Jordan Rhodes getting the monkey off his back and getting a double to get us back into it. Massive for his confidence and hopefully it'll be the kickstart he needs. Good to see us keep going until the final whistle, but it's a frustrating trend of this season to not get going until the second half, as they say we can concentrate on the league now...

Sorry not been tonight so I'm not bothered. Could end up being one of our best results of the season.

Well done City.

Deserved to win - more clinical when the chances came and generally defended well when under pressure.

Safely through to the next round, which isn't the current round but the round before the round you're all in.

Barnsley away, 19th Sept.

If this carries on Burton will be in the final and we'll still be playing round three.

Sounds like it was our young players who were the standouts, Kelly making his first start and Hinds his second (and second goal). Bobby Reid the revelation as a striker.

Disappointed Grimsby didn't win as we haven't played them in a competitive match for ages. Might go to the Derby game if they only charge a tenner though.

Quite like this competition personally. Good chance for clubs like ours to put an enjoyable cup run together.
