Totti has announced he's retiring at the end of the season, so since more and more of my childhood favourites will be going this way I decided we should pay tribute.

It's extraordinary that he is still (sort of) playing football at the top level at his age, and he is a legend of Italian football. That said, I watched some of the Rome derby the other day, and boy did he look slow.

One of my favourite ever players to watch, I was always on his side in the Del Piero vs Totti debate. Though, the longevity of his career ultimately ended that debate in his favour anyway.

    Two memorable panenkas:

A bit younger, but Xabi Alonso is retiring too, isn't he? Another player that deserves his due.

I've heard it suggested that Xabi Alonso might be retiring as well?

I think he said he'd retire if he got back to back clean sheets against Barcelona, yet he hasn't. Fraud.

Pirlo has announced his retirement. His best goal which I have had bookmarked for years:

Some player, he'll be missed. Forgot Ronaldinho used to play for Milan as well there.

We don't need a thread to list players who have retired. Just tune into Sky or BT Sport and see who's started working as a pundit.
