He didn't actually play a competitive game for us. He played 45mins in a friendly away at Dagenham around a year ago and looked nowhere near ready for the first team.

I had a brief chat with Callum Kennedy today, and a longer one with his Mrs. I knew things were bad but I didn't realise how bad. They had to wait weeks on end for his wages and all the staff were in the same boat.

Callum's so glad to be back with us and he played really well today.

Did he say anything else? Like any crazy antics the Italians got up to or how bad the dressing room morale was?

It was a shocking few weeks when none of the staff were getting paid - both players and admin staff, quite a few players didn't bother after that.

Thats what finally pushed our fans over the edge, particularly in our last two home games with the protests.

Callum was extremely diplomatic and swerved the subject of last season almost entirely other than to say that it was a mistake to sign for you. His Mrs wasn't so restrained but her focus was how it all affected the staff and families from a financial point of view.

Ended up at Ards I think?

Yes. Thats right. Spent 4 games on loan at Altrincham in the Conference North last season. Looked good apparently. Was one of the best defenders to play for Alty and looked to have had bags of potential.
