We've reverted to terrible habits of not being able to score at all, full stop. Plus the fact that, despite our pretty good defense, there always tend to be one or two defensive mistakes made by our team that the opponent team will always inevitably capitalise upon. I can't see this being any better than a 0-0 draw, most likely a X-0 loss to a team that takes their chances and actually score.

This will be a sell out, the result is irrelevant. Massive.

Lincoln at home - scored 9, conceded 5.
Coventry away - scored 8, conceded 6.

4 of our 9 came in one game and 3 of Coventry's 8 came in one game!

If Anderson starts we have a real chance of winning.
Sounds like Coventry will be yet another team who'll sit in spoil and try and catch us on the break, in our 'cup final' too.
The league seems much more negative than I remember from when we were in it before, teams so scared to attack and not to lose.

Think that's just football in general. It seems to be all about not losing these days.

it really does depend on you guys, if you play open football cov will play open football. we tend to play a better game against the good sides, and struggle on those that sit back and spoil it. i am going 1-1 but not too confident tbf. also depends if Jody Jones is up for it or not, he plays well and we are a different side.

I would take a point, but I did say that versus Luton.

We don't play open football, no. Can't afford to when you don't have many goals in the team, although Anderson returning will help.

Thus it'll be a rubbish boring 0-0 draw until we screw up and allow you an opportunity to score in the second half, thus bringing the score to 0-1 to Lincoln.

Well that fat, useless lump Rhead has scored for us in what has been a far more open game than expected from two of the League's lowest-scoring and meanest sides. Coventry have looked fairly threatening going forward, with some pace, but have mostly been restricted to pot-shots from long range. We've been more of a threat at set-pieces with a couple of efforts for Bossie cleared off the line. A much more interesting spectacle than expected.

Poor second half from us, Cov now 2-1 up. At least think we've been poor. Bloody ifollow has barely worked since HT.

Brilliant second half. Another warrior-like performance from the youngsters after a poor first half.

A game of two halves, really, and I'd agree with Cowley when I say the best team won in the end.

First half we were quite comfortable bar a couple of breaks. We managed to pin Coventry in for long periods, largely due to them being negative and defending very deep, which played into our hands. I think we may have had a couple off the line and Rhead volleyed in at the back post.

I thought we were 5 minutes away from getting through the Coventry storm in the second half. They played at a higher tempo but were starting to drop off a little bit. Second goal was disappointing because the ball looked to have gone out from our cross, which everyone stopped for and were jogging back thinking it was a GK. One of those that the linesman gives even though he's on the other side of the pitch.

First half, you could easily see why Coventry were such low scorers. Negative, 11 men behind the ball at times, slow in possession, ponderous and taking ridiculous shots on from 25-35 yards and were so, so impatient. Over the 90 minutes, I've never seen a side take more stupid shots. Anywhere and everywhere. If they weren't flying over the bar, they were rolling into Vickers hands - nothing in between.

Second half you wonder why they don't score more goals. Much more forward passing, a tweak in formation and their striker came on and changed the game because he was a threat in behind. McNulty and the other guy were very poor and offered little.

Not a great afternoon for us with Bostwick apparently doing his hamstring as well and others around us winning.

And the ref. He managed to book 6 players in a game where there wasn't a bad tackle. A good, solid, well contested game but an honest one.

Enjoyed the match day atmosphere/experience today. Close to the town, plenty of pubs and good away end.

Nice little bar at the ground and had a good chat with some great home fans.

One big thing I miss being at the Ricoh is the overall matchday experience. It's really poor compared to Highfield Road.

Would be very happy to go back to Lincoln for the football in the future

Warriors who go down at the slightest touch...
Better team no doubt but man up in the challenge!
We were warned so wasn't surprised at all, we can be buggers for it but you guys took it up a few levels, fair if you get away with it?
Do your players really need to run over the oppo fans when they score and carry on like that, especially in front of the family bit ?
No one had had a go them before they to so that very strange, could kinda understand it if they had done something towards but the crowd hadn't.
You could tell where your manager started his playing career.

Davidimp, I'm sorry our players did that but as fans it's out of our control, which is the same for you.
Football nowadays is full of dramatics can't excuse it ,it's full of drama queens but they were taught that.
I'm old so I remember tackles from Norman Hunter and Chopper Harris that were on the verge of GBH yet the bloke who was tackled would just get up and jog away like nothing happened.
I hate it too nowadays

Disagree, Lincoln tried to be too physical, which often led to fouls.

Easy to say Jones goes down a lot, but the lad is kicked to shreds by players week in, week out who are paid solely for that purpose.

Remember the Lincoln players running over to celebrate in front of us last season at theirs, bit poor but hardly the end of the world.

Indeed matey, giant centre halves going down with 'head injuries' was my gripe, pretty much every time we put the ball in air.

Never said that did I?
Dont like players who do it my team or the oppo as it can lead to big trouble.

Yep big dirty physical Lincoln, you got the memo then....
Any of your 'warriors' have war wounds to prove it then?
You deserved to win but going down holding your head after every aerial challenge was a bit much and even when there wasn't your big defenders when down holding their heads especially when under the cosh in the first half.
All teams do it including us bit just thought it went a bit far today.

I wasn't there today PUSBCCFC but it's not just our side that does it it's every side ,it's endemic in our footballing culture now. The slightest knock and they are taught to roll over three times and the rest of the team surround the ref asking for a card.
Jones does get kicked to death every match but I was simply saying as a general thought, they are taught to surroind the ref and try to get the bloke sent off
It's happened every game I've watched since we fell out the Prem. It's embarrassing for every team and the league should get tough on it
