Time for the biggest derby in the division. Lincoln still wanted on a major charge of daylight robbery after getting away an illegally obtained point back at Blundell Park in August. Hopefully justice will be served here.

No Andrade and Shackell for them, which is a positive for us.

No idea who will be available for us, I'm losing track of it. One thing that was clear yesterday was just how important Clifton is for us now as we just didn't seem to hassle Macc anywhere near enough without him. Clifton and Hess really do free Embleton up quite well but take either of them out and it seems to fall apart a bit.

Any plans for any banners this year, Imps?

We won't be filling the bench for this one unless we sign players.

Wharton will probably come in for Shackell if he's still here and Pett for Andrade who tucks in and gives Toffolo a chance to bomb on even more, so although we'd ideally like to have them available, it's not the end of the world because we've got by without them this season already.

Damnit, I thought Wharton had gone back? Is he on a season long loan, then?

Yep, with the usual break clause. Not a shabby third CB to have!

Hopefully an enforced break for Andrade will help him as he has been a bit under par. As long as Wharton is still here he should slot in no worries. We really need a few bodies in this week and get back to winning games.

We don't really stand a chance, other than a good defensive display like against Exeter and Palace and hope to get a goal on the counter.

Play like we did against Macc, County, Vale and Swindon and we will get soundly beaten by a much better side than any of those were.

But then it is a derby and we seem to play slightly better against the better sides so you never know.

We should be OK in Central defence as we have players back but missing Fox and Davies I believe which are big misses especially if Clifton is out as well.

I’m guessing now there isn’t a mansfield vs chesterfield game this is the biggest derby now. Should be a cracker! Be good to see Grimsby give it a good go.

After last season's cringeworthy one, as an apology this time it will say 'Fenty is a wanker! '

Davis should be back.

Cunnimg ploy to keep Town fans out of the home ends by selling out. Pah! Think I'm in the third different home stand for a Lincoln v Town game.

Somewhat unreasonably, Lincoln City ticket office didn't ring me and offer me my usual ticket in the little stand, the proposal for the Guy Gibson Hill for Grimsby fans hasn't got off the ground, so it will MMRFC seconds v SomeFatBoys RFC seconds for me, with phone checking every 5 mins for news from Sincil.

Shackell will be a huge loss for us. Warton will be an excellent replacement (if still here), but Shackell is a different level of player.

I actually think Andrade being suspended for 3 games is a bit of a blessing in disguise. He's not been in form for a good few weeks and I think that's mainly down to him not being fully fit. As we've not got a good enough like for like replacement, in a small squad, he's had to play. Bit of a rest could do him the world of good.

In any case we definitely could do with a few more bodies through the door before the match.

I see that Grimsby have been on a bit of good form recently (until the manager of the month curse) and in my opinion we've not been great. Considering Grimsby are probably the best team I've seen play against us this season, should be a good game.

No idea who are the good players for Grimsby these days?

None of them are particularly stand-out but there isn’t really a bad one either though one person has a howler every now and then.

McKeown has been pretty good as has Embleton. Charles Vernam is capable of being really excellent. Think the most interesting for us will be how our defence holds up, it will be over a month since the last game we finished with two CBs.

Expect Seb Ring to keep his place, Harry Davis back in and then one of 3 other CBs with RHJ dropping out. Really hoping Clifton is back in too, Saturday showed how much we miss him.

Was pleased that Shackell got sent off but Wharton is more than capable. Despite defending like heroes for the past month, we haven’t played particularly well since Tranmere back in November. Last season was the first full Sincil Bank I’ve seen and it was quite daunting, especially when you concede 3 in 10 minutes.

I thought Hessenthaler ran the show at Blundell Park in August and if Clifton is out, he is going to be our most important player by some margin this weekend. Those two have completely bossed it in midfield lately and Hess might have a two man job on his hands as our other centre mids don't have the same qualities in the engine room. He is my signing of the season personally, we would be so so much worse off without him.

With Whitmore and Davis back, we might do okay. Ring will almost certainly play but it's far too early for Ohman. I think Lincoln can hurt us down our left side with Ring being nowhere near match fit, I wonder if we'll play Woolford to help cover that side. We haven't conceded from open play in ages barring that freak mistake from Rose on Saturday and with recognised defenders back, I'm confident in us defending set pieces again. If Lincoln allow us to counter and get Embleton and Vernam on the ball to run at them, we stand as good a chance as any. We will continue to win games that we shouldn't this season, just as we'll lose games we shouldn't. A return to good performances will do me fine.

After years of attendance at this one, I won’t be able to help Lincoln fill the stadium this time, shame.

We were poor against Macclesfield but it was probably coming, tough run of games with no defenders finally showed. Play like that and we’ll get pumped, but we do have a gritty performance and a win in us as has been shown in December.

Would be pleased with a draw.

Need to bounce back with a decent performance. We seem to be going in these loops of multiple straight wins, then multiple straight defeats. I don't think it's fair to expect us to be consistently performing week in week out just yet, but reducing these losing streaks so that they're not around the 3/4 match mark would be nice.
What, the same siren we've used for corners decades?
Didn't you stop using it for a bit?

Think it broke for a bit and went out of use, but came back a few years ago.

One was banned on H&S grounds very briefly, so we did what any normal football fan would do - we bought two more instead.
Currently broken but will be fixed I'm told by the person who owns it ;)

Luckily for those going you’ll be seeing the true star of the show, Mike Dean.
