Surprised at the lack of threads in this section, so i decided to create one myself.

Im a Liverpool fan but i have a soft spot for Scottish football, although since Rangers have been out of the SPL i have admittedly watched less.

But now it seems Rangers will be back in the SPL next season, which means the old firm games will be back, and i cant wait.

What about you?

Invented the game after all mate so why shouldn't we? ;)

No Rangers can get to fucking Belfast.

The English invented it but we ran in straight lines up the pitch waiting for our players to get booted over and then it was the next player's turn. You did invent the passing game, though!

We invented it up north someplace though by the time the 19th Century came round you lot standardised it and set up the league system. And we did indeed invent the passing game, dunno what happened to it since mind!! :D

Just seen this thread. Obviously as a bluenose I'm glad they're back in the Premiership. Can't see them winning the league but a top six finish will show another step of progress in my opinion. No sense trying to overdo it....bit by bit will do for me. As for the negative comments earlier in the thread. GIRUY.....:bg:

GIRUY? Had to google that :D

Leo, don't worry about negative comments here, may it about Rangers or Scottish Football in general. Sometimes it's only a bit of mocking.

I, personally, am very happy that the Gers are back in the SPL where they belong. The HSV and the Rangers supporters have a friendly relationship since the 70's. I am really looking forward to the first Old Firm Derby at September 10th. I really missed these in the SPL. Good luck to Rangers, the start to the new season is promising so far with 7 pts from 3 matches.

I reckon you'll finish third this season just to solidify your position in the topflight and kick on next year. Will take a few years to catch Celtic though.

Dirk my man....as time goes on you will find I take very little seriously. I know there will be attempts at wind ups but I'm big & old enough to take it & give it back in abundance.....:cool1:

To be honest I personally would be more than happy with 3rd although I do know several bears that think winning the league could be on the cards.....heart instead of head methinks. As for catching Celtic, well that will take as long as it takes.

That's the right attitude, Leo :2thumb:

Some here are very sensitive when you are mocking a bit about their clubs so I wanted to point out about the fact that not all is seriously meant.
Gers Fans had to endure so much in the last years that some of them get thin-skinned ( I saw that in other forums), when others mock about them. So your attitude is the right one and I am sure in the not so distant future the Gers are top in Scotland again (whatever this means ;) (SCNR) ) and play in Europe again.

btw: The HSV Fans had to endure the same mocking from our Rivals in the North Werder Bremen 2-3 years ago when we were both times in the Relegation Playoffs. But we stayed in the Bundesliga and last year we could "repay" the mock when Werder Bremen was nearly relegated, they only could avoid it in the last match (unfortunately ;) )

Well I watched that game last night and was really frustrated. Rangers, for whatever reason, seem to struggle on artificial pitches but have to do much better. The goal they lost simply showed that we do not have a central defensive pairing worth the name....Kiernan & Hill are utter garbage and too slow. Danny Wilson who should have been playing last night, but was injured during the warm up, isn't a lot better. If we get Senderos hopefully that will assist. The equaliser (a freekick from around 30 yards) by Tavernier was a beaut but we must make out domination of possession count. Killie had a youngster (obviously trying to make a name for himself) given a straight red for an appalling challenge on Joey Barton. Some of the decisions made by the ref were really unbelievable but you have to suck it up. Final score 1-1. Hate to say this but when we go to Parkhead in a couple of weeks I can see us getting a doing.

Joey Barton, he of Championship team of the Year fame last season, has looked utterly dreadful so far. Hasn't caught up with the lightening quick pace at all.

I think you do him a disservice by saying 'utterly dreadful'. I agree he hasn't set the heather on fire but in no way has he been dreadful. Excellent passer of the ball, likes a shot from outside the box when the opportunity arises and is confident enough to take the freekicks outside the box if it doesn't suit Tavernier.

For the highest paid player at the club his contribution has been very underwhelming.

Dreadful going a bit far, I agree, but so much more was expected.

Tbh I was expecting a bit more from him but in the games I have seen (on TV) he appears to be playing more defensively. I'll certainly give him more time before I would say a hit or miss.

I am really looking forward to Celtic vs Rangers in 2 days and will watch it via Kodi-streams. And I must not forget that the Scots are 1hour behind us, otherwise I am sitting one hour too early before the TV and moaning about the not functioning streams ;)

I shall be watching also Dirk. Tbh, I'm not very confident of a win...we'll just have to wait and see. Hope you enjoy it mate.

Right decision. I've decided against the Manchester Derby, too. First I wanted to watch it and posted it here in the respective thread. But my dislike about the 2 assholes aka managers was too big in the end. Especially Pep the Gorgonzola is a no-go for me. The spanish trojan horse that denied Bayern 3-times to win against Spanish clubs in the semi-finals (and I even can't stand Bayern but in the end they are a german team and I want them to succeed in Europe, too)

I've got nothing against Pep personally (I've always liked Barca since Romario was with them), but the City fans don't deserve whats happened to their club, you only have to look at the attempt at a send off Pellegrini got when there was no one there, after he won them the fucking league! As for Man Utd, well I'm a Liverpool fan so its in my bones to hate them, and with Mourinho in charge of them now and with them fully abandoned their principles, there's no reason to watch them either.

Having said all that, I don't like Celtic nor Rangers, but it should be a fun, mad game, and won't have the sycophantic coverage the other will for the Chinese market.
