Commiserations Notts. Shame to be missing out on one of my favourite away days.

Your first season down with the tinpotters will be a hideous culture shock, but it should get better from there. Enjoy bonding with the Brotherhood.

Aye.

Enjoy Bromley, boreham wood and barrow next season.

I do hope you have so much fun #stain

Ooof. That’s a studs up, full blooded challenge Adam.

If your failure to get promotion means I never have to listen to David Flitcroft speak ever again, then truly, today won’t be such a bad day after all.

Tbh I wish he’d fuck off as well.

Look, being serious being in the conference is well, not great.

What is a good thing about it is you can be reborn and you can be better than you were when you went down, a root and branch clear out of everything can be a good thing.

Not a fan of County but never nice to see a team go down to the conference. Bad day for Nottinghamshire.

The National league can be a bugger to get out of. There's not many who bounce straight back as champions.

When we played you a few weeks ago I didn't think you were that bad but it was very one paced. A few of the players will definitely be moving on to pastures new, some should be put out to pasture. You will need your recruitment team to get it sorted early so you can gel into a team in the preseason games. Of course your ownership/takeover will have a big bearing on that.

There are a lot of clubs about the size of Crawley and Morecambe down there and you will be their cup final but they are mostly good fans very willing to chew the cud about the game and football in general.

Good luck

Commiserations County, sorry to see you go. I’m sure you’ll be back within three years as you’re not a basket case like some of us when we went down - clubs in a similar situation (Tranmere, Bristol Rovers etc) came back very quickly) so no reason you won’t do the same. Only thing I’d say is be humble, there’s a chance you’ll get smashed by someone like Dover early in the season. It’s normal, we’ve all been there. But the more arrogant you are, the more they’ll take the piss. You’re their cup final now, brace yourselves for it.

From a selfish point of view, I’m glad County lost today. I didn’t want Cambridge getting the blame for their relegation. I’d have been sad if either club went, I had no preference.

Probably not. I wanted them to go down rather than Macc, but I don't take a great deal of joy from it unlike you who seemed to have a greater interest in County going down than our own issues with useless Flitcroft.

Eh? There have been loads.

Notts County's owner literally tweeted out a picture of his knob and has blown his finances to the extent that he's put the club up for sale. They're on their 3rd manager. Definite basket case.

Yeovil stuck with a clearly inept manager until a month before the season ended, plus had their own takeover, with lots of drama apparently going on behind the scenes. Definite basket case.

Macclesfield's players consistently don't get paid on time. Probably a basket case off the pitch.

Port Vale's owner said he'd stop funding the club once the season is over and fold them unless a buyer was found. He is now trying to force through a takeover after numerous run ins with the fans, local prospective owners, media and supporters club. Oh and they released an official statement complaining about refereeing decisions. Definite basket case. That's 4 to start with.

All true of course. But not basket case enough for points deductions, which has surprised me given the goings on behind the scenes at some clubs in this league.

not sure about half the Swindon fans going crazy for it followed by a big chant of ‘going down’, but there you go. Nothing against the Swindon lot on here btw, who are a sound bunch.

Had the exact same thing with Cambridge fans, that's how we found out you'd scored.

Spot on laker it was braintree for us. Wait until you get beat at home by an awful team too. My low spot in the national league was losing at home to welling the week johnny king died, we needed to win to make the play offs and the players just didnt turn up ( welling hadnt won for 3 months ) . Brabin played his usual get everyone behind the ball despite having norwood mangan and margetts . Brabin was finished that day. Even after we won our fifth game in a row from the off the following season brabins fate was sealed that day

Bromley 6-1 Leyton Orient. Fourth game in NL.

It happens to us all.

Yes found that very strange, though was only a handful of spotty kids so as long as they enjoyed themselves that's all that matters.

Ah well - we were in dreamland for 15 mins or so, but the odds were always massively stacked against us, and so it proved. Macc goal killed the away end, not sure about half the Swindon fans going crazy for it followed by a big chant of ‘going down’, but there you go. Nothing against the Swindon lot on here btw, who are a sound bunch.

As for what’s next for us, a lot depends on our takeover news. Could be a swift return or it could be... not.

Congratulations Macc tho, looked gone after a few weeks of the season. Sol deserves some plaudits, especially with the off field stuff.
Reason for the Swindon reaction was two fold. Firstly, the club were honouring those fans who passed away this season with a roll call over the tannoy, which the Notts County fans disrespected however and sang over. And secondly due to the cheating antics of the penalty. Happy to concede on merit, but not where simulation has occurred.

Commiserations though. You've been a great bunch on here and I'm convinced you'll be back sooner rather than later.

Surely they would prefer Notts to a Macclesfield or Mansfield?

You told me it’s not all bad, wasn’t a stain on your club history and clubs can and do come back stronger, so there is always that.

No idea on the tannoy thing - certainly not something I noticed at all so maybe just wasn’t clear from the away end. The penalty was about as blatant as they get i though, your bloke just bundled into the back of CMS.

Anyway, fitting end really managing to lose 3-1 with a couple of comedy goals when we’re 1-0 up against a team in terrible form with nothing to play for. Someone worked out that we’d be in the play-offs if we’d kept hold of every lead this season - the team’s had absolutely no spine and no mental strength whatsoever, and they completely deserve to have been relegated.

Behind the goal you couldn't really hear the P.A. I didn't even hear the roll call.
Thought it was a pen but a soft one, contact was made, in the Premier League they're always given but he did want to go down.

Anyway, (some) fans always have a pop, just how it is. A few Swindon fans wished us luck on the way in so no hard feelings from me.

That's around 36 pts dropped from winning positions this season and 80+ conceded. Pathetic, no mental strength to grind it out.

Sorry to leave the L2 forum, lots of interesting posts and posters... and Spanishtag who's boring as fuck, but there you go.

Hard luck County, non-league has its moments, especially away games and selling out most places you go. But 10 away fans in the away end at home games loses its charm pretty quickly.

I think the season we won the conference the average away following was about 110

It’s the moment you realise you’re no longer governed by what you thought was the daft EFL but actually the conference board who are irrational and do what they want, that you’re in the fa trophy and you have to play in a 4th qualifying round of the FA cup. It’s scary down there. I shudder at the thought.

Apologies, didn't mean every week, but there are some scarily low ones. Gateshead brought 8 fans to us on a Tuesday night once I think, and North Ferriby only just made double figures with 13.

What I will say is that Notts county are a far bigger and better club than Mansfield. Always seen the stags as a bottom division/non league outfit. They seem to have got a bit above their station in my opinion. It just goes to show though how a well run and well funded club can do big things.
