Only one team with a 100% record, showing everything you need to know about the division.

Should be a good contest today against Yeovil, were no one's rivals other than Cheltenham arguably, but Yeovil are nearly neighbours so looking forward to a west country affair.

Suspect a draw, but for obvious reasons hoping to get a win, a big chance today.

I feel a very tight game vs Newport today, a hard fought 2-1 home win.
It's very strange that after just two games we only have one team with 100% record, which no doubt will be coming to an end fairly soon.

We got brought down to earth last week after the emphatic opening day win, so will be interesting to see how we react today. Jones was clearly very unhappy with how we played and made some pretty forth right statements, about things needing to be set straight the day after. I do wonder if we go on on a poor run how he will react, given all the work he has put in this summer, he doesnt exactly come across all that stable at the best of times.

The 2 games we played against Colchester last season were 2 of our worst performances of the season, if i recall the home game was a pretty decent example of a lot of our home games last season i.e lots of possession that we didn't do much with, hit with a late goal to lose/drop points, and the less said about the away game the better!

Since last week we have obviously lost Vassell so not sure who will partner Collins up front, not sure if Hylton is quite ready yet having only played 45 minutes so im guessing Lee will come in or perhaps Cornick. Sounds like Cuthbert might miss out with an injury which is a big loss IMO, id like to see Mullins come in there instead of Rea to be honest but not sure he is flavour of the month with Jones for some reason.

Should be a tough game, but id expect a bit of a meltdown if we dont win from our supporters unfortunately

Cuthbert is definitely out, but I'd be surprised if Hylton didn't start up front alongside Collins.

Perhaps, but Id be a bit cautious about getting him back and starting in a league game having only played 45 minutes against a bunch of kids really. He will be so important for us this season we need to make sure we don't rush it.

You are probably right, wouldn't surprise me if he starts but doubt he'll last the distance.

I'm confused. A lot of posters are creating individual match threads and then we have this collective one. What is it to be?:conf:

It was Luke Imp who started this single matchday thread thing - I would have thought he would want to put those Conference ways behind him. Surely, each game justifies its own thread in the Football League, apart from maybe some Forest Green games...

Not not really, Forest Green have earnt the right to have a thread for each and every Football League game they play. Can we close this thread...?

As above really, I'd have preferred Mullins instead of Rea or if he really fancies Rea over Sheehan. Said it before but still don't rate Sheehan as a centre half really, gets out muscled too easily for me. His set pieces and play with the ball though are decent so can see why he does it, but that centre half pairing is a little weak if you ask me.

I'll respect the vote for the single match thread when only the L2 posters votes are eligible.

An eskimo wasn't allowed to vote for Brexit or remain now did he? :cool1:

Problem being, I doubt any Newport fans on here to have single match thread? Cov unchanged again, can't remember a season we went 3 games with just 1 change! Fingers crossed, corner turned

I thought there was a vote a couple of month ago, I can't remember what the result was but I'm sure there was already a vote.

So how come nothing came of it?

Really like the look of our team sheet today, confident for a win with that line up although I remember thinking the same away at Crewe last season.
Fancy JJ Hooper to score on debut today.

Carlisle Yeovil and Notts all 2-0 up already, sounds like we are playing as bad as we did last year at Stevenage but without them (yet) taking advantage.
