Right, so what happens to Craig Harrison then? Is this what he gets for parting with his beloved Phil Collins tapes?

Craig mate, if you're reading this then just shoot me a pm. I've got all of Phil's catalogue on mp3s and will gladly forward the lot to you.

Chin up mate. ♫Su-Su-Sussudio♫

Bold move from Cllr Fenty, he like we have done in the past have gone through experienced, former players, players with a good pedigree and have all turned out to be dreadful appointments.

Jolley has worked under the esteemed tutelage of Mr David Holdsworth, it's hard to have a better CV and reference than that.

Never heard of him. Seems a risky move. But if he is half as his good as his British counterpart in Sweden Graham Potter then he will be decent.

Very pleased with this. Highly thought of by many in the game including Sean Dyche and has experience in turning around a relegation fight. Speaks incredibly well and seems extremely hungry and hard working. I've got a really good feeling about this one, just as long as he sticks around.

Good luck to Grimsby. In all honesty I want to play them in the league again. We have no proper rivals in this league so hope they can come up so we can give them a proper smashing again. Only been in the same league once with them in the last 35 years. Hopefully Lincoln come up as well

That statement comes across as being a bit sycophantic to me. Almost like they've pre-empted a bit of backlash.

I give it approximately 24 hours before Sol Campbell declares 'racist GTFC Chairman only chose Jolley because he is white'.

His Wiki page looks suspiciously like he's written most of it himself. Very few references/citations and it's written in a very positive, not especially objective, manner.

Will be interesting to see how this goes...

Edit to say, also no mention of the above incident on his Wiki either.

I think he’s a clever, articulate guy but it remains to be seen if he can handle a toxic squad and then rebuild it from scratch in the summer.

And seeing as he likes writing his own stuff...

https://michaeljolleycoach.wordpress.com/

It does unnerve me slightly but there’s very little about the case, barring this and the tabloid article above. Not that I want to do the whole ‘let’s sweep it under the carpet thing.

I'm gonna personally shake him by the hand and thank him for his bravery as a survivor of 9/11, a sex offence trial AND a John Fenty interview process.

The 9/11 bit did tickle me. Seems a bit of an odd fellow.

Helped in the development of Josh Ginnelly and Tom Anderson...
Good luck Grimsby.
Nice lads both but they aren't exactly banging on the door of the first team at Burnley.
Josh struggled to stay fit with us and Anderson didn't stop long and had injury problems too.
Something to do with his coaching skills of youngsters?

He’s got a masters in Economics from Cambridge and was a stock trader in NYC. Now he’s manager at Grimsby. Proper bizarre that is.

He's taken the Grimsby job course he's odd, they've turning into us circa 2011.
The Grimsby fans deserve so much better than their current situation.

what a shocking appointment..... and who wrote that article on the grimsby site? Really sad attempt at persuading the club he's the next best thing.

"we quickly identified the need to move away from the classic “managerial merry go round” appointment" How amateurish and sad is that? Trying to put a good spin on the fact no decent coach or manager applied.

His record in Sweden looks great, P18 W 4 D 4 L10..... good luck lads, hopefully you and Chesterfield drop like a stone.

It read like they’ve just rehashed his application.

Not sure what role he had with us, vaguely remember his name from a few years ago.

No need to be like that. What’s your problem with Grimsby??. X

Leave Chesterfield alone. Quality away game. Least you can get there without fucking about to go to Nottingham first. Some good pubs there as well. Far better away day than Mansfield
