Hi all, i come from Vienna/ Austria and i stay together with my two kids (13; 15) on London at 7th of January 2017. I want to show them the fantastic atmosphere in the UK football stadions. I have the choise:
Millwall vs Bournemouth or QPR vs Blackburn Rovers.
At first i thought i choose QPR vs Blackburn, but parts of Loftus Road will be closed (because of demand?).
What would you choose and why?
Thank you very much for helping.

I've been to the New Den and Loftus Road a number of times. From my experience Millwall has a much more pronounced atmosphere, not always in a good way. I can't imagine QPR v Blackburn to have the "fantastic atmosphere" you're after in all honesty.

I've been to both grounds before a couple of times and I'll probably be going to this game at Millwall with my team Bournemouth.

Millwall is usually a better/louder atmosphere, but sometimes not in a good way that your kids would enjoy. But I highly doubt Bournemouth will bring out that nasty side of Millwall so it'll likely be absolutely fine.

In terms of the match itself, one between two struggling Championship sides, and the other between a middling League One side and our reserve side (please don't come expecting to see a regular Premier League lineup). If you support Arsenal, there's a chance Jack Wilshere will be involved for us but he won't start.

Is one easier for you to travel to than the other?

I think you'll be better off with Loftus Road. It's probably a little easier to get too, and you'll find more touristy things to do round that way. Notting Hill and Shepherds Bush are good for places to eat and drink, so you won't go hungry round that way.

I can't really speak for Millwall; the three times I've been as an away fan, we've been treated like criminals and herded in and out of London Bridge. London Bridge would be good for eateries/things to do etc, I can't imagine you'd want to venture round Bermondsey for too long.

Thing is bar a couple of my favourite hipster pubs there really isn't that much touristy stuff to do in Shepherd's Bush either - Notting Hill is probably the equivalent distance of London Bridge from South Bermondsey - although there is White City Westfields if a shopping centre is your thing just up South Africa Road. Whether QPR or Millwall I'd only go to the area for the game, then move on to somewhere slightly more appealing.

If you're doing this based on atmosphere, then you go to our game, if you want to see a contest, you go to QPR.

You should ignore the people saying things will be less than friendly - even away fans don't get it too bad these days. As a visiting neutral, you'll be absolutely fine.

Yeah. There's absolutely no doubt he and his family would be fine at either, probably welcomed in fact. Just that at Millwall it's more likely to be PG than U. For the record I'd pick Millwall.

Merry Christmas and thank you very much. I think we will go to the den. We are neutral and I don not fear the fans of Millwall :). There is no problem to get there for us. And I also enjoy visiting buildings and look at things that arent typical tourist attractions.

I decided to go to Millwall vs Bournemouth. It would have been a great match, Millwall won. But i became ill and i had to cancel my journey.
