Two more today to take his tally to 23 in all competitions. Amazingly, he's scored more goals on his own than 8 top flight clubs this season.

Shame that Kane appears to have found his form and is rightly favourite to take the golden boot. But we're comparing a striker to a wide player here, which makes Salah's strike rate of 23 goals in 29 appearances all the more impressive. I wouldn't rule him out just yet.

Its good seeing him back in amongst the goals today. He has been getting assists in the last two or three games, but goals are better! Hopefully he can get 35 this season in all comps? That would be an astonishing return.

as a geniune question and not a wind up as he's not there yet but do you see comparison to a "winger" C.Ronaldo as you see in Salah. I only get bites of liverpool play, but from what i see reminds me alot of a younger ronaldo, early twenties, cutting in from the left, playing on the shoulder from a wider position and being deadly to finish with pace and power. Something he built upon into his late twenties before he became and out and out striker.

I'm not saying salah will develop into an out and out striker like ronaldo did or be as good, but do you see the potential to do that? Or does he provide too much for other players to be considered selfish enough to be ronaldo-esq. Too much traditional winger in him.

I guess the proper test of that would be to play in a different system than liverpool have now. the fluid front 3 suits the players that play there, allowing them to drift into the space a striker would normally take. It's the dsicussion of is it a front three, or two wide men with a false 9.

I wonder why none of the big clubs took a chance on him.
He is playing brilliantly and looks like he could take the next step like Coutinho.

I've never thought of that tbh. He reminds me more of Messi with his touch and close control. Of course he'll not be as good as either Messi or Ronaldo when all is said and done and we'll have to see how he gets on next season as there is usually a reaction from the opposition by then and he may have to adapt to that; but he's certainly got all the tools to continue this type of form for years.

I can see him getting more clinical too. At the start of the season he was wasting as many chances as he was scoring (which also happened yesterday ) but as the season has went on he's gotten better with his finishing. I can see room for improvement from him yet.

He's out for two weeks with a knee injury. Should only hopefully miss Burnley today and Everton later in the week though.

Another player that Mourinho could have nurturned into becoming world-class but didn't bother giving him his chance. He did the same thing with one Kevin De Bruyne...

Let's see what this FEARSOME attacking line does against Chelsea in a couple of games time then. You've played 3 of the good teams so far. Winning none and scoring just 1 goal. As I said, you're merely an on top team, flat track bullies.

You're not doing very well recently, are you Aber?

Did well today - a bit concerning you have to play at 150mph with ball to achieve it though - that cannot be replicated every game - indeed I can see todays effort hampering you in the next - it's a tough un

Nice to see you admit you were wrong, fair play.

And it doesn't need to be replicated every game. Given that we don't play a team that leads the title race by 15 points with a 30 game unbeaten run every game.

half decent player. however, morata has a better goal to mins ratio and is therefore the far superior signing.
Even though Salah’s efficiency has been questionable, I still think Salah is a better game winner than Morata. Salah is probably one of the top 5 players I’ve seen in the English Premier League this season. Morata wouldn’t even make my top ten :pond:

World class 2nd tonight from Mo, and a decent first taking advantage of Rose's mistake.

21 league goals this season, and 6 assists. In comparison to 22 goals and 1 assist from Kane. You have to say that overall Salah has been the better player.

Increasingly amazing stats from a player that isn't even playing as a striker.

I must admit even Lionel Messi would have been proud to score Salah's second goal.

How come he didn't celebrate the first goal? Something happening behind the scenes?

You're right, salah is a better player than Kane as the latter one is only a striker, while salah can create chances thanks to his technical skills, speed, and agility.

Mane is better, though that's hardly a knock. Fantastic signing, but he will slow down as the goals are more evenly distributed among Mane, Coutinho and Firmino. Looking forward to seeing Egypt at the World Cup.

As alluded to above, his second goal yesterday was Messi-esque. Probably second only to De Bruyne this season in race for POTY. Not sure how long Liverpool can hold onto him.

Unless Klopp can take us up to the next level (which would require him accepting he needs to change certain things, something I get the impression he stubbornly refuses to do), no more than a few seasons unfortunately. Still, if Salah continues as he currently is, we could potentially be talking a fee of monumental proportions if he does go. Either way it won't be to a Premiership club.
