Former Colwyn Bay, Chester FC, Stockport County and Altrincham manager Neil Young announced as Head Scout for FC Halifax Town.

I guess that, as long as Halifax don't mind signing players on the "throw enough shit at a wall and hopefully some of it will stick" principle, they'll be okay, but still, PMSL

How long before the next "this time I really REALLY mean it" retirement?

I'm hoping Heath & Carroll will continue to make the final calls on any players Young will bring to them, so we still won't be going through 40 players this season. Given his nous I hope we'll get the best out of him rather than the manager he became.

All home future home games at Maidstone to be segregated for away fans following minor trouble Vs Woking. Sad but inevitable as we adapt to a bigger stage.

We only have 2 of Neil Young's players left. Tom Hannigan was on a 2 year contract so we were stuck with him. He's just never worked out here - injured half the time, getting sent off or conceding pens for the rest of it. The other is Sean Miller, who is actually decent, but is coming up to 10 months injured!

In fairness to Young, we have precisely zero of Jim Harvey's or Matt Doughty's players still here.

The retirement was from management. The position at Halifax is not manager. Get it?

This happened in March, evidence was presented at the time. How on earth did it take this long for the FA to adjudicate? Stinks
Similar thing happened to us with Luke George (now dominating the midfield at Hartlepuddle). Made a change from him missing through injury.

If you want to pull out your pecker and have a shuffle over him, he came on the other Saturday, first touch and he broke someone's ankle.

Not National League but the latest minted club?

Egerton FC of the Cheshire League (Step 7) have JLloyd Samuel, Nathan Ellington and Darren Gorre who have 240 premier appearances playing for them. They also have Emile Heskey, Danny Webber and Emmerson Boyce training with them

Had to google them as had never heard of the team. Seems like ex pros bringing there mates in for the crack. Wonder if they have plans to progress

A good night for us in the North West Football Awards. Andy Cook voted National League Player of the Year and Ben Tollitt coming second to Phil Foden in the Rising Star award.

Not bad considering Tollitt has been injured for nine months and Cook plays for Wrexham.

I can't imagine there were too many on that list?

The awards are a bit daft though; the player has to currently be at the club, while also having played for the club last season - so that rules out about half of the candidates. And the clubs nominate the players themselves.

For the Rising Star award, we had Harry Panayioutou nominated by default - a striker who I think has scored one goal from open play and had managed about three sub appearances in 9 months. The awards should be in the tinpot thread.

Just reading the first few pages of this thread and apparently Tranmere under Mellon are gonna absolutely fucking piss it, and Paul Cox predicts Barrow to get promotion this season.

So how's that all going then?

Paul Cox realised that we had more chance of promotion so jumped ship ;)
