So it begins, we open up the season again on TV :ffs: Which is guarenteed to be a nailed on loss for us, as we are usually useless when on TV.

Be interesting to see how Salford play. We have a settled side, but lack that clinical cutting edge to finish sides off and we've got an ageing midfield.

Interesting that Edinburgh made Jobi McAnuff captain for the season, he is nearly 36 and whilst he still has it for this level, I cannot envisage him playing nearly every game.

We will lose.

Ill be pleased if we get a draw. Poor preseason with our first team failing to score a goal.

Suspect it will take us a couple of games to get going, tarpey only just back and Akinde replacement lacking game time.

Good opportunity this to start the season off with a win. We started off poorly last year and we never shook that off so it is vital that we get points on the board early.

I'm hoping we can go there and win, we had a good record on 3G pitches last season but a draw wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I've not read a lot about Havant and Waterlooville on here, and don't really know if they're up to much - like a lot of promoted sides, they could carry on their momentum and do well this season. I'd hope for a win, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster.

Good that we are getting our annual to-nil defeat at the Crabble out of the way at the earliest possible point of the season.

This is gonner make last years opener at Sutton on BT Sport look like a spectacular result. I think we're going to get truly and utterly humped. But, we get our heaviest defeat of the season out the way. Ebbsfleet is a 3-0 loss on Tuesday, literally everybody panics and there are some calls for Edinburgh to go. However Orient then win the next six against Barrow, Maidstone, Boreham Wood, Gateshead, Dover and Man U to go second in the league on Matchday 8 behind the early pace setters, FC Halifax Town who have 22 points, only dropping points at home to Dagenham.

Come the end of the season Orient drift away to 10th, Halifax pick up three points after January 1st to finish 20th as they suffer a severe case of Wokingitis. Salford win the league despite only picking up one win in their first five, pipping Barnet on goal difference by one goal scored - Rory Gaffney's 96th min strike v Orient.

Salford City 6-1 Leyton Orient

Rooney x3......... McAnuff
Lloyd
Whitehead
Gaffney

I think we'll win. We struggled in both games against Bromley last season but i have a renewed confidence. We won 2 of our first 12 games last season. We have to start better this season. I go 2-1 to us

You think we’ll score? Typical happy clappy c***.

Kick off is taken. Ball goes back to Coulson, he twats it 70 yards forward, Bonne is beaten in the air, the headed clearance lands at McAnuff's feet, he curls one in from 35 yards. The BT Sports studio goes silent in disappointment, the Orient fans think we're gonner piss this tinpot league as the natural order states... for a whole seven minutes.

Aldershot away will be a tough game. Very hard to say how we’ll do as we were so indifferent during pre-season. I think I’ll start the pessimism nice and early and predict a 1-0 loss.

Can't wait to have my pre season optimism absolutely crushed Saturday tea time, as is the Pools way.

We have a couple of injury doubts over Reynolds and Boucard, to add to the long term injuries, so I would happily take a point away to Aldershot with a goal for Tarpey to get him up and running again.

Orient taking something (or everything) from Salford would be welcomed too.
