Is Torquays no21 one of their own or a loanee? Looked technically a cut above the rest yesterday from their side.
Had to look him (Alex Davey) up, he's been on Chelsea's books as a youngster, but these days with Cheltenham. I didn't think Torquay had any stand out players, but battled hard and for a spell when the game was 1-0, looked capable of getting back into it.

They were very limited but came with a game plan and battled hard. Certainly had enough about them to beat the drop if they play like that most weeks.

Good for us that Hughes, Harris, Ridehalgh, Kirby, Wallace are all in and around the squad again with those four fixtures at Christmas being tightly packed.

Now that would be a nice xmas present. Might even take it as part payment against your 'infamy' record :)

We've never won at Nethermoor in 3 attempts, but I'm confident we will this season. The return of Hall-Johnson and the m-o-m debut from James Jones means potentially we've got a good defence now, that is so long as MB sees that McCombe and Halls are catastrophe players.

"Two fixtures went ahead in the Conference North yesterday as opposed to all 11 in the South, yet combined attendances for the former still outstripped the latter." :pond:

May have been no games but at least the fans still turned out.

Since the two games against Accrington we've been shocking. Far too many cards, suspensions and injuries collected amidst a game plan of constant hoof. The only time we've looked anything like decent was with nine men at Mansfield when we actually passed the ball to each other and kept some possession. That can only be coming from our management, yet it continues.

Thanks a bunch Sutton ... was expecting you to beat the plucky Orient, which would have got us out of the bottom 4, but what do you do ... get hammered by a team that haven't won for 3 months. I give up.

Aside from the 20 minutes after we scored our first, we made Sutton look like absolute amateurs. I don’t think Sutton were really any worse than when they beat us earlier in the season (same long ball crap to Dundas and Lafairyette), but when our wasters can be arsed they’re capable of hammering the absolute dross which inhabits this hellhole. Doswell was absolutely spot on with his post-match comments.

And there I was, thinking their latest result would make the resident Orient fans just a little bit less bloody miserable.

I’m just a maverick renegade, I guess.
