If they bully our midfield like sutton did they could beat us.

Not a great time to play them either
Sutton have got more quality than Guiseley, so it will be a different game I think.

Sutton are very similar to the Dover sides of the last two seasons: physical and cynical but with enough quality to hurt you. Could be an outside bet for the play-offs.

Genuine question: Are Sutton even eligible for the playoffs? Can't imagine their ground is up to FL standard, and obviously their pitch isn't. Would they go the same way as poor old Darlo last season?

As I understand it, they could compete in the play-offs but would have to replace their pitch if they went up. I would imagine their ground is already close to League standard.

Didn't go to Boreham Wood yesterday but apparently we were worse than we were on Tuesday. Club have said in a statement that we are seeking new investment, but if this doesn't happen this season is going to become very embarrassing.

Cheers. I guess maybe they have the requisite seats. Would be comfortably the worst ground in the League. Well, apart from Kenilworth Road.

There was a discussion on the Sutton message board a while back asking for ideas how to spend their cup run money. A million pounds doesn't go very far these days; it bought Maidstone a new terrace and replacement pitch.

Ha ha, we're not making the playoffs - we're not consistent enough, or at least we won't be over the course of the season. 10th is my prediction.

As a club we're not ready to progress as things stand at the moment. Maybe in a season or two, we're a growing club and promotion is a step too far maybe. Gander Green Lane/Knights Community Stadium would need quite a bit of work. It's an Isthmian league ground slightly spruced up, 5013 total capacity with 765 seats currently.

I said before the start of the season I was absolutely amazed that Eastleigh were 2nd favourites for the league - and yesterday proved my point even further.

Don't get me wrong, they have some quality about them, but there are certainly better teams around in this league and even at these early stages I'd include ourselves in that bracket.

Wasn't very impressed with the pitch either. Maybe spend more money in making sure the pitch is ready on time and less cash on a £2m (or whatever it is) hospitality suite. Oh and improve the catering to match up with the pricing or reduce the prices.

A final thought- are Chester the unfriendliest set of twats in the league? From the car park attendants to the miserable fans, I've never got a smile out of any of them in 4 visits. Wassup losers? :dk:

Just as well your MD doesn't share the same view. Good work from Daggers here.

I'm so bloody happy this is being dealt with. Over the past 3 seasons or so, we've developed a younger band of supporters who are solely there to cause trouble and be disrespectful. Makes me feel old saying that as I'm only 28. However, 10 years ago, the 16-25 year old section of the crowd was pretty respectful. It was always football first. We'd have a sing song and a bit of back and forth here and there but everything was respectful and you'd find us in the opposition bar pre match and sometimes post match mixing, chatting and just enjoying being part of that community.

Unfortunately, in the last few years, a portion of the 16-25 year olds who are supporting us don't act like this. They've watched far too much Green Street and whilst it is only a portion, it's more than just 2-3 idiots. The overall tone and the way in which these people 'support' the club is wrong. I'd wager they barely care about the football club truth be told. They're there more because it's a 'thing to do' with their mates and they're all vying for 'top boy' or 'alpha male'. It's pathetic and it pisses me off to the max. The problem is that whilst maybe it's a handful who go to the max and cause genuine trouble, there are big groups of people who taunt nastily and who act irresponsibly just before the point of it being worthy of being thrown out. These fine lines add up and these people think that their behaviour is acceptable whilst in turn giving our club a shitty reputation.

I don't care if it hits our attendance, ban any fucker who is there for the wrong reasons.

We've had a few similar problems down the years ourselves away from home, can't disagree with what you've said.

About 3 years ago, MK Dons vs Wimbledon in the League cup first round - One of the Wimbledon fans ran onto the pitch to confront the MK Dons keeper David Martin. He was arrested and banned from football for 5 years etc etc, whatever his punishment was.

I found out that the lad who was convicted was actually one of these "Alpha Male" big shots you mentioned from my own club, who was well known as being one of the ring leaders causing trouble amongst our 16-25 ranks so to speak.

So these "fans" I doubt limit their idiocy to one single club.
