We've improved under JE and we've won our last three, unbeaten in four and JE's only real away defeat was at Dover (His first game away at Solihull consisted of only two training sessions, so we don't count that 1-0 loss o_O ).

So this should be a good test for ourselves. We're missing our best CB and second best player this season IMO in Josh Coulson who is out for the rest of the season with a broken toe. Marvin Ekepita came in and performed well against Barrow last week, but this will be a different and much tougher test.

This will be my third visit to Moss Rose. My previous two visits were back in April and November 2005 a 3-1 loss and a 0-0 draw where John Mackie thought it was a good idea to boot John Parkin up the arse and get sent off, this game was also the one and only time I've ever gone to a football match hungover.

As long as my 10am train runs on time of course. Damn you B Fucking T.

Our record at Macclesfield is shit, only one win which was 2-0 back in May 2001 and our TV record this season reads played four and lost four, we've also been crap in all four games more or less.

This game I think will be a bit too much for us without Josh Coulson and with Macc needing one win really to seal promotion.

Away to Maidstone who haven’t won in a while so hopefully we can pick up 3 points. Dover at 2/1 is a ridiculous price. Halifax also to big

So is Orient at 14/5. Nice 5/1 double with Tranmere to help soften the blow.

At home to Ebbsfleet, who are still in the play-off hunt.
Tuesday's win has seemingly lifted spirits, but with us, that always means a huge disappointment is just around the corner. It will be a big test of whether we are finally able to battle for a win, or just crumble against anyone half-decent. Without exaggeration, a win should see us in the right frame of mind for the run-in and keep us up - defeat would likely deflate us to the point it could be tricky to overcome.

Might even find myself rooting for that hobby club from around the coast tomorrow, as they could do us a real favour by beating Maidstone.

I'm hoping that Sutton have downed tools and given up completely as we'll have no chance otherwise. I've never spent a season so angry and last Saturday was an absolute fucking disgrace. First time I've ever left a Pools game early. As the curtained one famously said over and over 'we go again'. This is true, just in our case, probably to get beat and possibly sucked in further.

# this game was also the one and only time I've ever gone to a football match hungover.

Don't know how you can possibly watch football at this level without being at least half cut. It's hardly the beautiful game to study in poetic motion, is it?

The game of the day is surely at Prenton Park. We showed Aldershot far too much respect in the reverse fixture, sitting deep and allowing them to pass endlessly, but I don't think we will make the same mistake tomorrow. This game and the match at Dover on Tuesday night will give us some idea of how we shape up going into the play offs.

Given the form of our two strikers, I fancy us to nick it by one goal in a high scoring game.

Are any Macclesfield fans able to confirm if we will be standing or seating tomorrow? We're likely to take around 300 and its pay on the gate and all their seats have apparently sold out in the home end :bdick:

Play offs? Have they done away with the auto promotion for winning the league?

We don't do league titles (last one was 80 years ago).

However, if you would like to Tranmere your way to second place, be our guests.

There's away standing and seating, nearly always just open the seating unless the demand exceeds capacity in the seating.
Not sure of the away seating capacity though, Chester brought 200 plus and both were opened.

This. Even a draw with Maidstone and Woking getting beat and it’s a point gained without losing a game in hand. Awful to say it, but please win Fylde.

400 seats available, terrace holds 1500. Not many times we've opened both in the last 6 years!

Indeed. Incredible Macclesfield have held on chasing us for so long.

Unlike Wrexham’s 10 point advantage over us in November..

Also about the 10th time you've randomly mentioned us this week hoping for some sort of a nibble init...

Macclesfield - Outsider. 100-1.
------------------------------------------
Tranmere - Top weight. Odds-on favourite.
Sutton - Could refuse to race.
Fylde - NAP.
Aldershot - Good-to-firm ground needed to perform. E/W.
Borehamwood - Unfancied by many.
Wrexham - Expected to be pulled up/shot.
------------------------------------------
Dover - French winner is unlikely.
Ebbsfleet - Top form, one to watch. E/W.

All very well saying that when you support Dover and this is the best standard of football you're ever likely to see.

My team is shite and the club has had better days. Forgive me for not wanting to stay sober to study which fat non league full back shanks it out for a throw in the 19th time in a match.

Don't worry though, you'd still need a hearing aid to hear them. :bdick:

Don't complacently assume this is the worst standard of football you're ever likely to see. Stockport, Darlington, York, Chester, Hereford and ourselves all dropped down here with that attitude. Hartlepool have historically kept all of us company bumping along on the bottom of the FL. We played Stockport in a friendly before their first season here and you could tell from their hubris and complacency that their fall was far from over. :bdick:

It’s our 4th game in 8 days, avoid us with a barge pole.

A side playing its best football of the season (shape, purpose, bit o' confidence) that's also dead on its feet from travelling down the morning after its third game in six days, versus a Torquay side who don't sound like they've picked up much, but will be fighting for their status in national football. Could go either way with a unique low-quality tinge to it. We may boss them, then give away the ball at crucial points because our bodies are all dead.

If Woking or Maidstone drop points, or Barra lose, then we're safe.

Today could be the day where we put our awful run to bed, return to winning ways and close in on solidifying our playoff spot.

Or we could drop more points
