Isn't that ever the case with Wrexham in the last few years.

No, we had truly shite players from the off last season and got what was expected from them.

The game wasn't a great spectacle, but we did enough to get a deserved win. We took our chances when they came, Woking were awful though, they offered nothing in the second half. Their two centre halfs looked shaky for the whole second half and let us in quite a few times. Joe Ward looked lively in the first half for Woking, but only one shot on target in 90mins tells its own story, our keeper was rarely tested.

We were more direct than we were at Bromley - Which led to our second goal on the counter attack.

Good bounce back after Tuesday though, which was a real wake up call as to what will happen to you if you don't get your tactics right and respect the team you're up against.

Will be interesting to see if Bromley and Sutton and keep this going as the winter months creep in and squads get pushed a bit.

We have a 100% record on grass :bdick::bdick:

Nevertheless, the days when we Football League brothers could assume we were immune from on-field relegation from this division are long gone. :dk:

2-0 down on 43 minutes playing atrocious football and Criag Mahon hits a beauty to make it 1-2. Second half we play football and Dawson scores a cracker 2-2. We're dominating play now. Davies who should have been booked earlier is booked and was lucky to still be on the pitch as was 15 (I think). McCarthy then orders us to hold and the inevitable winner comes from Sutton. At one point the crowd are suggesting that McCarthy seeks employment elsewhere. He's a lovely man, but no football manager. If he stay we're certs for relegation. In his after match interviews he makes excuses and does not accept the fact that he's responsible for the laughing stock we've become.

A dull game at Crabble, both teams seemed to cancel each other out, in a game where clear cut chances were at a premium, Barrow's goal came from a quick throw in which left Dover back peddling for White , who was left unmarked to nod past walker, the game continued in Dover style of endless long balls to 3 6'6''defenders who mopped up everything , then some inspiration, where we moved the ball along the ground , we equalise with a header from Bird, worst performance by us so far this season , but Barrow did not offer much more. Draw a fair result, Macclesfield on Friday and well done to the 31 Barrow fans who were in attendance

Newport by all accounts.

The state of it, going on strike to force a move to Newport :conf:

Haha yeah that's a tough one to swallow. Mind you he played for Grimsby so he's not the picky sort.

Pretty sure we'll be in for him as well now after his 'strike' and we've got money to spend. Watch this space

How is this absolute cuckold still our manager? I’ve never known a manager do so badly and stay in a job. Certs for 24th place if he remains in charge.

If you take this game in isolation then we didn’t really deserve to lose, Sutton lost their heads and discipline in the second half which gave us a chance. They might just about be top half material, but were underwhelming, certainly fortunate they were up against by far the worst managed side in the division.

Never seen a manager described as cuck before .
Rife on Deva Chat at the moment that one.

I'm being serious, in a bad way his management is genuinely sort of revolutionary, I've never seen anything like it before.

There are some big clubs with managers who are dwarfed by their jobs, in these leagues. Lincoln addressed the issue at their club and never looked back. :bdick:

Looks like the shit has hit the fan.

Amond on strike, players having a scrap in the changing rooms, Blair Adams shouting at fans during the game to "show some fucking support". Difficult when you're going through the lowest/worst period in your history, with the worst team you've ever had. I'd like to ask the players, most of them support a team, if they were on the terraces watching their club, a step below where they should be, no sod that, fighting relegation a level below where they should be, had owners bleeding the club dry, not had a respectable season for about seven years, would they show some fucking support? I play football myself, although not at a very high level, and I expect pelters from my teammates and anyone else watching if I'm not pulling my weight.

We've probably got no choice but to stick with Harrison and these players and give them at least until a dozen games before making some tough decisions.

Ref set the tone booking 3 of our defenders in the first 20 mins for standard fouls.. we were always gonna sent someone off then.

We were thoroughly outplayed by The Stones at 11v11 and were very lucky to only be 2-1 down, Piggott and Sam-Yorke caused problems and #27? was full of tricks.. having said that I thought Dibble looked at fault for both goals, half committing to come out for a free kick into the box then left stranded; and whether unsighted but the ball just flies past him in the centre of goal for the 2nd. Although he made some good saves second half, including the penno.

As for the crazy minute.. it was close to call, I thought it looked like Manny got the ball but has gone through the man first maybe.. it could have gone either way but if he's giving the pen then he has to send him off. Then Carrington argues with the ref and he's sent off too for a second booking.

We then defended very well with 9 men and still managed to create the odd half chance from set pieces.

Poor ref with all the bookings and free kicks being given. I can imagine Keates is going to point to the sendings off but we were mostly dominated before that and Maidstone deserved the win.

Good atmosphere at The Gallagher too
Just watched the highlights having not been at the game and looks like Smith won the ball for the penalty to me. Doesn't seem like Carrington was arguing all that much either, at least no more than Wedgbury and others around the ref.

We were robbed BLIND. The actual state of that first 'booking' he gives for Carrington at 2:20 is the worst decision of the match, it's just an aerial challenge and everyone is playing on until he brings it back. The pen isn't even a foul and I don't think either player touches the ball, the Maidstone player just falls over and there's no decision to be made, it's just play on FFS. He gets his yellow card out that much in games that he doesn't even realise he's booked Carrington previously until he looks and then you can actually see the excitement in his eyes when he knows he's got to show the red. He also sent 2 players off for Tranmere on the opening day.

Sam Allison, remember the name. Potentially worse than Karl Evans.

He's the one who gave offside when Gozie Ugwu went through on goal after intercepting a Braintree back pass last season. He is the National League's highly trained reffing out specialist.

People talking about binning off Harrison already is mental, it's been a shite start and we're all pissed off but I'm with you, we have no choice but to stick with him and give him the chance to turn it round, we were lucky to still have a club after getting fucked over by the cockney c***, we don't even have the money to sack off a manager and appoint another, Pam mentioned that we're still paying off an ex manager we binned off last season!

As for Amond I just hope we don't sell him for buttons, Pools should stick to their guns on an asking price and accept only that, if no one matches it well fuck him, he can play in the stiffs till his contract is up, there's no way he'll step foot on the pitch in a Pools shirt again, he'll get tortured by the crowd, the little ponce.

It's not shown on those highlights either but I seem to remember Pearson challenging a forward for a header and nothing in it at all, none more so than you see for every aerial battle, takes an elbow in the face for his troubles.. Maidstone free kick.

We were getting yellows for any foul in the first half it was feeling like at times.

Really nice header from Reid for our goal viewing back again. And that doesn't look good from Dibble on the second goal at all.

Playoffs should largely contain Proper Teams™ so the Wembley showpiece event is well attended, therefore officials should slowly and subtly ref out the Unpopular Part-Timers™ throughout the season, ramping things up come March/April to make sure but allow no more than ONE tinpotter into the playoffs and ultimately the final, who then get reffed up to League Two. The end goal is to keep the Proper Teams™ down here for the money generated through their attendances.

I'm pretty sure most of that is in the National League constitution.

To be fair to Dibble it looks like it took a deflection just in front of him?

We were dire, Barrow were about as bad. Disappointed to only get a point but given the situation will take it.

Hoofing balls up to Bird who is being man marked by a 6ft 6 giant was never going to work. Barrow are a very physical side but don't offer much more than that.

Good to see more of Kadell Daniel, who looked quality. Personally would like to see Allen and Daniel playing either side of Sho-Silva on Friday, but Bird is scoring so can't see him being dropped.

Bird is a strange one in that he is about 6ft 4 but mistimes his jumps for almost every header meaning he gets next to no power on it. Took his goal really well though.
