Agreed. I think our game vs Maidstone on the last day of the season will be a battle for 23rd. I genuinely cannot see where our next win is going to come from.
Probably against us in a few weeks time. We've made a habit of breaking other sides winless runs in recent seasons.

Aaaaaand it’s a WUM. Bit early to out yourself, but I suppose your first mistake was claiming to be a Salford fan.

No I'm not a WUM. I dont know why people think Salford don't have genuine fans we do. Some were there before the takeover, others newer, it's a long term project.

The ammies died when the Class of 92 decided to remove every trace of the old club, Kit, ground badge ground - the lot. You do know that the Ammies name came from the amber and black kit they played in. The kit that Neville et al knew wouldn't work with the disgruntled ManUre fans they hoped to attract.

And i'm with others on here in saying that any club that can pay individual players per month what other clubs are spending on their squad in a week. You are not battling against odds at all. Hilarious (and predictable) that its the Fylde fan that is taking your corner. You'll form a kinship there for sure.

I started watching Salford a couple of years ago in the NPL. I used to go to United a lot but fell out of football for a bit (becoming a dad to twin girls etc was hard to finance going to the games). I'm a Salford lad and I like what the club is doing. Building a club up and getting the community behind it. Averaging more than 2k and that will get bigger. Clubs come and go and new ones take their place, this is football. Look at B'mouth in the Prem and the likes of Sunderland, Wednesday etc miles off where they 'deserve to be'. That's life pal. You have to spend money to get where you want in football, it happens at every level. We're spending good coin on a few players yes but mst of our squad players came from other clubs in this league and we aint paying them much more than at their last clubs.

Biggest load of bollocks i’ve ever read, your wages bill is about £3-4m a season. You don’t have to spend silly money like you are just look at Accrington. Let’s see what your crowds are like when you’re not winning every week. Most clubs are bank rolled at this level but not to the obscene extent you are currently paying. £4K a week for a player at this level is quite frankly embarrassing, you’d expect him to score 50+ goals, players dropping from Peterborough earning £4K a week don’t take a pay cut.

I personally hope you go up this year so the rest of us get a fairer crack at it next season. Thanks for the 4 points.

What a colossal flop that Danny Lloyd has been by the way, the fucker has only scored a couple of penalties all season. The total definition of a money grabber. But they can afford to make such financial mistakes, that's the difference.

Oh dear another naysayer. There are at least 4 clubs bigger than salford here so for the crowds we get and the progress we've made as a club gradually building season on season i would've taken top half! All credit to the manager and owners, yes he's had a bit of backing but nothing to get frothy at the mouth with.

To be fair, I support a project. From the club's regular podcast, our project is to be a breeding ground for youngsters with a smattering of older heads, from around the NE (and even as far as Lancashire heaven forbid) where we play football in the right way and become a club where youngsters make their name or be a home sweet home for players higher up who've lost their way and looking to re-discover their love of the game.

The only thing that Pools make me want to discover is fast track euthanasia.

3 years ago he was supporting FCUM, but Salford have stolen their thunder as a Man U spin-off. When we first played them they had less than 100 fans (they brought 5 to The Shay and they all left at half time, having conceded 5 in first 20 minutes) but now there are 2000 all claiming to be lifelong fans. #DoTheMath :dk:

Well ta for the welcome from some of you. Why is that its all the massive ex football league clubs who talk us down and abuse us. Clubs like Fylde and us, we're ambitious and upcoming and you'll still be down here. Anyway this is a hard league and despite the cash we spent on a few players we dont get it all our way. I think it might go to the last day. Will be a good battle but to be honest I hope its two of the new boys who go up. Solihull us, Fylde, Ebbsfleet. Be good to get new blood in the league rather than seeing the same tired old names on final score every saturday

What’s the point, obvious WUM account.

When a club just promoted into this league can pay £2k p/w to essentially every transfer they make (it’s easy to forget the likes of Pond, Neal and Whitehead amongst the forwards) and a fan claims it’s nothing - you know something’s wrong.

‘Projects’ like Salford have come and gone through this league although none as flagrantly financially unresponsible as them. It’ll all end in tears at some point.

I doubt it. They're 50% owned by a billionaire. FGR, Fylde, Fleetwood, Crawley, none of these had a billionaire backing them (though FGR's wasn't too far off). They'll struggle to keep players at the club when FFP kicks in after their inevitable promotion mind.

I don’t think it’s the size of the money behind them that is their biggest asset in moving forwards (as you say I think FFP will limit them big time in future seasons), but it’s their potential to grow as a club. Salford is a huge footballing community and that club has the potential to be right at the heart of it. Look at Lincoln to see the potential that capturing an available fan base can do for a club.

So, out of interest, out of the non 'brotherhood clubs' is there any team up there who people here dont hate and wouldnt mind seeing get promoted?

PS- things are going amazing but I still think its a big stretch to see us going up. Also not sure we would be allowed to get promoted unless we did some work on the stadium.

So, I'm only going on what I've heard on the rumour mill.

Their wage budget is at the lower end of that estimation, at around £3,000,000 - which to put into perspective is around £600k more than the absolute highest we had in League One under Barry Hearn - and our League One budget was pretty median for that league.

I've heard Rooney is the player on £4k p/w, from what I've heard you're off on Lloyd, he's actually closer to £5k (which, just those two combined, is significantly more than the budget full time Kidderminster Harriers had when they dropped out the league).

They don't have to spend silly money, but it damn well helps. Salford will win the league this season, of that I have no doubt. Club goes on a bad run? Pop along and sign Matt Green, no worries.

Someone like Whitehead is probably on the same sort of wage we'd have paid a Dean Cox, Sean Thornton or JJ Melligan (okay, the last one was a colossal waste of funds) in League One.

We've possibly got the second biggest budget in the league, although I'd imagine there's a few contenders for that. I'd be surprised if it was anywhere close to half of Salford's wage budget.

I personally don't hate any team in this league, everyone has/should have a dislike of Salford down to their gross almost unfair overspending, they're not a plucky cap in hand underdog investing in their club in all aspects and growing a project like this WUM would have us think, they're pumping sickening amounts of money into the playing staff in the hope they brute force their way into the league.

I'd have a Solihull/Sutton (plaggy pitch problems aside)/Ebbsfleet/ Gateshead promotion over these shite hawks any day of the week.
