Tbh the last thing they need is the meek manner in which they’re accepting the rack and ruin of the club at board level. I know the difficulty because of the way that fan bases naturally divide into militant and appeasement approaches (just look at the B******i apologist faction at Orient or the mushrooms at Blackpool), but there doesn’t seem to be any organisation or fight about the Chesterfield fans. Have they even got a Supporters’ Trust?
Fucking Hell have a browse on our forum, we're coasting in 10th but it's a crisis already. :woo:

First game I've seen for a few weeks and not great all told. Havant looked a poor side, but a lack of quality in the final third for us, combined with a couple of quality finishes from one of their players meant that we only came away with a point.

The only real plus last night is the continued improvement of Wes Fonguck and he looks a real player in the making. Unfortunately Jack Taylor looks completely shot of confidence next to him.

We need a serious review of what we are doing with our players as I refuse to believe that our ridiculous injury list is down to bad luck. Something is rotten in the state of Canons Park. Boucaud gone again within minutes of making his debut and Sweeney leaving the ground on crutches.

We need three or four new players and it is damning that with all the injuries we have, Elito and Sparks can't even make the bench. Or maybe, they too are injured. Difficult to keep up these days.

Sparkes and Elito are definitely not injured!
You're absolutely right about the need for a review. Who decided that Boucaud was fit enough to play first team football? Did he break down due to a reaction from playing or did he not warm up properly? Who on earth decides to water the pitch at half-time at a night match when there will be dew settling on the grass anyway?
Fonguck has certainly progressed this season and has done well. There are certainly still some rough edges to his play but he's getting stronger every match. That was not one of Jack's best performances for us:(

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Dull game at the Rec last night, got fed-up with Shot's passing to and fro and getting nowhere fast. Typical away team performance from Maidstone, preventable breakaway goal, then some good bodies-on - the-line defending. Earned their luck, but Shots could'nt score in a brothel. Impressed with Blair Turgott, he won't be there long if he'd is consistent.

Not all bad news, then.

We have nothing. Sporadic protests, widespread boycotts is about all we've managed. Boycotting and staying quiet will probably kill the club. I can't say anything as i've just boycotted home games too but nothing serious has ever taken off.

Getting hammered by them is not what a Brother does. You should have at least gone down fighting, red cards, trash their ground, egg Gary Neville, the lot. I can't wait until we play them twice at Christmas.

King Kev wading in here to support your anti Salford ramblings. I hope Wrexham trash the ground, but it seems the management are that thick they will plan for 300 away fans rather than 1500 odd and have a tiny portion of golden gamble tickets and programmes. At least you will have 4 portaloos to trash.

In all seriousness I visited my cousin last January shortly after her return from the States. As a whole her and her family are United supporters. They were whinging a fair bit about City and City's ownership and spending, something I am not entirely impartial to. In the next sentence they declared they were going to start attending Salford games. Sad thing is they were unaware of the irony and probably just believed all this BBC crap about them rising against the odds with the backing of a few young lads from Salford.

At least Salford are keeping it all real and scoring victories for the underdog eh.

Do Salford fans have any actual songs out of curiosity?

Not sure what to make of that performance last night at Solihull, not even a shot on target and some Sunday league defending. At least the hog and stuffing roll was nice. Ebbsfleet at home on Saturday but starting to lose the will to watch this crap. Gateshead Away for me and that will be it for some time on the away games front. Too early to start the relegation thread?

Well, you can be us or you can be Scarborough. The phoenix club idea is tempting, but it needs to be the nuclear option. You guys need to organise and the formation of a Fans’ Trust is the only sensible place to start. Ours will help you get off the ground if there’s appetite rather than apathy.

This was about the only good thing to come out of Haslams time at the club. Supporters group forming and actually protesting somewhat, also provide a voice for fans now.

There is interest, and attempts have been made but have struggled. If you have any contacts then please fire them over, I know a couple who were involved in recent attempts to resurrect the CFSS (those who came to save club about 2000 when Darren Brown nearly killed us - Orient fans probably remember this not so fondly) - so can pass on those details and see if there is still an appetite to get the ball rolling.

Well, we are fucking awful. McMahon hasn't a clue.

Can't wait to pay £21 to see us lose at Dagenham.

No problem. First port of call would be Jonathan Kaye from the contact list on the LOFT website (Doug, the Chair, has been ill for a long time, though I’m sure he could help). Second would probably be Adam Michaelson, the lawyer. They will be able to advise on formation, running, protest tactics and sourcing new investment (the Dunkin’ Donuts takeover was facilitated and aided by LOFT behind the scenes). Charlton’s Supporters’ Trust are another I’d highly recommended you involve.

I wasn't there so could be talking complete b*ll*cks but...

we seem to have found our niche. 5 games without a win followed by 5 straight wins followed by 3 games without a win....

From what I hear we are inconsistent, lacking in quality, fade badly as the games draw to a close and with some unknown curse / hoodoo / medical negligence affecting the fitness of our players.

I think we should be quite pleased to be in touching distance with the top 7 at this stage.

We give terrace to Away fans now so £15 to see you win, just score two goals and you’ll do it.

Assume you’ll look to maximise revenue by giving us the previous away stand? And a terrace as well if last night is anything to go by.

The open one up the other end?

Not confident whatsoever. We've only scored more than once in two of our thirteen games, and that was against Aldershot and Barnet. Genuinely don't see where our next win is coming from.

McMahon made reference to how many set pieces we had on Tuesday (12 by half time apparently) yet failed to mention that only one of them failed to beat the first man. After the hammering at Wrexham, he and the squad had a "clear the air meeting" in which things were said and done. Since then we've picked up one point from home games against Havant and Bromley. He even tried claiming a point at home to Havant is "something to build on" for fucks sake.

Seriously though, he's too good for us. Of 10 goals we've scored this season, he's got 7. Plus he would've had an assist if not for a push making it disallowed. Didn't get a single goal whilst he was suspended either, without Turgott we'd be as good as down already.

Well that was a no-lube dildoing in the second half. Cannot see Braintree finishing anywhere other than dead last. Quinton has worked miracles to even get them in this division with that side.
They were miles behind the other play off teams on points gained, but sneaked through.

Surely McMahon's job must be on the line?? with your budget to only be 2 points a head of us is pretty poor.

The last thing Chesterfield needed last night was a Alan Devonshire side rocking up. He seemed to have a good record against the bigger sides in the division in his Braintree days.

I agree although we still have the budget to have squad players capable of doing better than this. As demonstrated by Elito who can't even make the squad despite surely being in our top 5 earners.

Doubt it, given that we stupidly gave him a 5 year contract after getting promoted. Similar things were happening last season, but we, as a squad and McMahon in particular as a manager, were new to the level and learning and I was more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. Obviously we ended strongly and, given the weak league ended in the play offs.

Losing patience with him now to be honest, many want him gone, but I'm not 100% at that stage yet. Close though!

Has Ebou Adams been any good for your lot? As you well know, he was excellent for us in the second half of last season. If anything he should be playing higher.

They appear to have a bottom half NL South budget. Some of their signings over the past few weeks have been very desperate. They even signed one of the guys from the band Rudimental because apparently he can play a bit.
