We’re currently 6 points off of top with a game in hand on every team above us. And to think we haven’t played particularly well this season. Crazy

Probably the scrappiest game of the season we've been in due to the conditions, the game itself was a hard watch. The wind made it tough for both sides, also two of the scrappiest goals you'll ever see.

A draw a fair result in the end, plenty of endeaver from both sides. In the end neither side did enough to win, Jobi unlucky not to bag a brace after a good save from Loach in the second half, was the closest we got.

Not the first time this season we've fucked up from one of our own corners, we got away with it this time when Brill saved the penalty.

I had this one down as a draw at least, we need to win 10 of our remaining games to get over the line. Our next two are Maidenhead and Havant and we have to win both.

Need Josh Koroma back fit by early March for the run in and/or bring in another forward player because Harrold and Alabi are impact players at best.

The Terminator You and your group get away safely this evening? Heard there was trouble before and after the game?
Yep, I am aware of what happened, looked like a few of the Hartlepool/Middlesborough knuckle draggers fancied having a face off with a few of our knuckle draggers.

Thankfully I don't mix with those sort of people and missed everything.

What happened in injury time down at ebbsfleet? 4 men sent off in 6 minutes is a bit much I think

Solihull were a niggly team, Italians would be proud of them, a few digs here and there in players backs, a few kicks just for measure as oppositions players ran past and as the 90 minutes came into view wasting time. This is what got the Ebbsfleet players backs up, so when a guy went down from a challenge in injury time they had enough, the Ebbsfleet 22 stormed in and started a fight with the Solihull 17, a proper melee ensued, fists flying, kicks aimed, Ebbsfleet keeper running 70 yards to join in. Only one who didn't was the Solihull keeper.
22 and 17 rightly sent off, about 4 others booked, to be honest the ref could have sent off half of both the teams.
The other sendings off - well the number 4 of Ebbsfleet goes down in the Solihull box, I couldn't really tell if it was a pen, but the ref books him for diving. He goes mental, grabs the Solihull defender by the throat, who is also doing the same back, with the teams now in another melee. The 4 is given a second yellow almost immediately and off he goes.
The most stupid sending off was the last one though. With yet more time wasting the Solihull 19 I think it was, managed to pick up 2 bookings in the space of about 5 seconds for kicking the ball away after he'd been caught offside.

I was very impressed with Solihull though, incredibly solid defending. I haven't seen a League 1 team defend as well as them today, as a unit, players knowing their roles implicitly. I also have not seen such a consistent quality of dead ball play and crosses from any team at any level in a long, long time. Had it not been for the Ebbsfleet keeper they could have scored from a couple of corners before the one they did score from. Their movement in the box, the delivery, you can see it's something they work on.
Ebbsfleet were by no means bad either, they just didn't get a look in, they had one genuine chance which the guy for some reason took a touch on rather than just hitting it, letting the defender get a tackle in.

I take it hes gone back to being accident prone, controlling the ball like its a grenade, can't pass the ball to save his life and hoofing it long all the time?? I dunno what the heck happened to him this season, but he was brilliant last year. Its like he completely forgot how to play football when we gave him a 2 year deal and made him one of our top earners.

We were marginally the better team yesterday until he decided he was Messi in his own penalty area and tried to dribble past the Eastleigh forward. As he is not Messi, he got mugged and we went 1-0 down.

Our 19, Danny Wright kicked the Ebbsfleet player in the back of the legs. It was a yellow card at best, the referee had just lost control at this point and clearly just wanted to even it up making it 9 v 9.

You make kicking someone in the back of the legs sound like something that is ok

He's a Solihull fan. He's used to seeing his team's players commit GBH week in week out, so a kick in the back of the leg is absolutely nothing.

Yeah cheers for that lads.

No problem. Playing a back 5 and 3 holding midfielders against a team as out of form as you lot was criminal. The manager went there scared and got what he deserved.

Wilkinson going off was a plus, he didn't look that badly injured really. Justham made a couple of excellent saves to keep D&R in the game.

Akil Wright missed 4 glaring chances too. That should've been more straightforward but I'm not complaining at the 3 points.

We must be worse than I thought to be about 14th in the league and get six pens every week!

We have had a number of pens but honestly can't recall any really contentious ones.

Anyway, 1-1 fair result. Noble's just back from injury, looked rusty, and crap penner Hawkes should've taken it. Could've had another one as well but I was having a piss so didn't see it.

Good to see the players put a shift in and play for the shirt. Can't argue with the spirit and work rate. Still need more quality at times but I'll take that and not a bad draw for you lot either.
Nice to see a good open game.
But we're just too honest,we never leave the foot in on opposition players, while Orient did it all game & got away with it.
They even took a leaf out of the Colombians book standing on the penalty spot to disrubt Noble.

I think Myles Anderson is still picking up his teeth after that donkey Alabi pancaked him.

The most staggering collapse this season has to be Aldershot, I know they lost around 6 of their better players from last season. But to go from playoffs to no win in 3 months and relegation is jaw dropping.

If it had been anyone else but Gary Waddock, he'd have been sacked at least 6 weeks ago.

You were no better, there was only the penalty in it. Our biggest disappointment on the way home was knowing that your team is so piss poor we'd have beaten you with only a slight improvement in performance.

Sums up my feelings on the season perfectly

It's all been downhill for them ever since Waddock was arrogantly smiling and laughing when they were 3-1 up in the penalty shootout against Ebbsfleet last season.

That was very unlike Waddock too, usually doesnt take things for granted until its over.

To be honest things went downhill from the minute Will Evans slipped against Macclesfield in the 3rd minute. Failing to replace Mensah didnt help us either.

From what I saw of you on Saturday, your team has that experience, solidity and pragmatism that enables you to gain points without being dazzling. The mark of a good team. You're much less of a footballing team than the likes of Salford, Fylde or Harrogate but they give much more away than you do.
Once Deacon is up to speed, you will be offering more in attack. Definitely dark horses for the title IMO.

Seriously, WTF is going on with our injury record. I'm starting to think we are injuring our own players to justify the state of the art medical facilities we've installed. I've never known such a prolonged run of injuries.

We should have enough to stay up this year, but six games in hand is just six more games to lose another 10 players. Poor old Tarpey will be dreading his recall back.

We should have enough to stay up, but the three teams below us have decided to show some form at just the wrong time.

The real danger as I see it is tomorrow. We get through and we will have to miss another League game. And as we get closer to Wembley, this becomes a real distraction when we realistically only need a handful of wins to keep us clear of the bottom 4.

Solihull away and Sutton away are our next two league games. Our away form has been significantly better than our dreadful home form but these are two extremely tough fixtures and our form and injury list are dire. Worrying times.
