One thing is for sure, the National South is going to be a hell of a lot tougher to get out of next season.

Bad enough this season with Torquay, Woking and big spending BillyRicky joining, but next term looks like being so much tougher.

Not that we should worry, despite the best efforts of the manager and squad it looks like we'll be paying the price for our limited budget and fanbase, and re-joining our mates in the sticky Isthmian.
National South is a piece of piss. When you've got 9 ex-Football League clubs in there, get back to us. :bdick:

I wouldn't get so cocky only 4 points ahead of us, played a game more and still to play us again yet. Just saying. I mean, you're Hartlepool, the only club with a worse record as a Football League club than us. :ds:

FC Halifax don't have a Football League record:ds:

We have zero chance of staying up. Got to be up there as one of the biggest collapses in Conference history

I can't see any of the current bottom 3 surviving. Havant seem favourites put of the rest but they are scrapping at least. I'd have said B Wood as they seemed in freefall but then they go and beat Bromley. Barnet seem the worst of the rest but surely they'll scrape enough points with their 40 remaining games?

We still have to play Braintree, Aldershot, Havant, Barnet and Chesterfield so they're all atleast guaranteed 3 more points.

I refuse to acknowledge Barnet are in any relegation trouble when they have 5 games in hand and still have FC Halifax to play twice.
Well well, as you're now below us, still have to play us, and only just scraped past our nine men at The Shay, I'm saying nothing, except when you support shit clubs like our 2, you should have learned by now never to get too cocky! :fl:

I would be surprised if we didn't get turned over at Maidstone.

John Still is like a curse to BFC and I suspect he will get dogs abuse from the handful of travelling fans who can bother going to the game. I'd actually say a home win is almost nailed on.

so the bottom of the table as it stands before the 12/3/2019 matches;-

Chesterfield played 37 points now 42
Barnet played 33 ponts now 40
Dover played 37 points now 39
Havant & W played 37 points now 35 max points 62
Aldershot played 36 points now 32 max points 62
Maidstone played 36 points now 29 max points 59
Braintree played 37 points now 25 max points 52

i'm expecting losses today for the bottom 3, but wins for Havant, Dover and possibly Barnet. all of which would drag Chesterfield back into it if they lose...

so my question to Chesterfield fans is - what is your teams record like on Plastic pitches?

I haven't updated this for a while as none of the bottom 4 appear to want to make it interesting.

Think we are about safe now. One more win and we can start looking towards next season

Havant don't have a game on Saturday. We host Harrogate tomorrow and then travel to Salford on Saturday.

Let's see what the table looks like after those two games.

Havant v Barnet on the final day. Havant only need to be within 3 of us going into the final day - current GD is close.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Shots have nothing to offer, and it would not be a surprise if we finished the season without another win, although we are at Boreham Wood this week, and they are on a run to match Aldershot. Bottom 3 cut and dried, difficult to predict, but H&W look crumbliest. Surely Barnet can’t blow this one, can they?

Who’s going to end in the North next season then?! Especially if Gloucester get relegated. Would someone like Hemel have to go in to North?

If four southern teams go down like it looks like it will, two teams from the National South will have to go North.

Likely candidates Braintree, Oxford and Hemel.

Oxford have been in the North before - that might save them
and no offence - but the south can have Braintree...

I think the fact that Hemel is better connected to the North than Braintree is will save the Irons from ending up in the NLN.

We're 14th now but no worries, you can always count on us to fight our way back into contention for the drop. We built our reputation on it- The Shaymen, Fucking Things Up Since 1911.

I'd be amazed if the league didn't put Hemel and St. Albans in the same league together. Should Gloucester end up being relegated then I think we're in play (albeit highly unlikely) to go North due to ease of access to the M40 and the M1 not being too far away either.

it may depend on who comes up from the leagues below NLS and NLN;- maybe both Kettering and Kings Lynn/Stourbridge/Stratford will both go North

If Havant or Aldershot could string 3 or 4 wins together Boreham Wood could be in real trouble, they seem to be on a mission to get themselves relegated.
