Also congratulations to Tranmere, getting promoted is all the matters, in 5 years no one will give a flying fuck how it was achieved so ignore the snipes.

Well what a weekend that was. Only just got around to catch up on this thread. I actually feel for Newport after that on Saturday, they deserved it just as much as us if not more. We Tranmere fans know how hard losing at the final hurdle hurts.

Disappointed to see a few sly digs and jibes at us on here, whether it’s sour grapes or not I don’t know. I’m not going to stand here and I talk the game up Saturday I know it wasn’t the greatest spectacle but us and Newport were there on merit regardless of opinions. I dont think we’ll be in a relegation fight next season despite the consensus on here we will. Mellon would have began to plan for next season before the result on Saturday and would have a contingency plan for either scenario. Promotion now means we’ll have a bigger budget, higher attendances and be able to attract better players with the lure of league one football. I’ll take a season of relative calm and stability, somewhere between 12th-18th I’d snatch right now.

Those that have wished us well and congratuled us, I thank you. A good few Mansfield fans have shown their sportsmanship and congratulated us and I can imagine them more than any club will feel they deserve league one football more than us. When we came away from Field Mill to a 3-0 defeat in January we were so envious of the position and squad you had. You moved upto 2nd while we dropped to 10th. Yet we’ll play a league higher. Football, bloodyhell.

My club is finally on our way back. No longer is supporting Tranmere a weight on our shoulders. We can be proud again.

Just had a look on the league one forum and it looks quieter than Stadium:MK. Think I’ll stay on here. Can’t wait to read Devon_lad pre season predictions when he declares Exeter champions elect by Christmas.

You will probably think I'm thick, but was the hell does SWA SWA mean?

Not been on since last week so want to congratulate Tranmere Rovers on a second successful promotion - a rare feat that the second half of their season fully deserved.

Hard luck on Newport who put in a great effort but just fell short. I'm sure you'll be back there or there abouts next season. (hopefully with us!!)

Micky Mellon was odds on to become St Mirren manager last summer, look how that ended out. Welcome to silly season!

Does not mean that much, as others have noted, but Flynn’s odds on taking over at Home Park are shortening. Given the positive season Newport had in league and cup I am not surprised there is interest in him.

It would not just be Bury fans who would be unhappy were Mellon to leave and be replaced by Lowe.

I’d love to see PPG of second half of every season under Mellon compared to first half of season.

It’s probably 1.2ppg first half and 2.2ppg second half.

In other news the league one season has been delayed until December.

Not sure about previous ones but no-where near that extreme last season - 1.47ppg (first 23 games, 34 points) and 1.69 ppg (second 23 games, 39 points).

And you were decent enough in the first half of 2016/17 with Mellon IIRC? Last season was slightly different, but probably not enough to swing it as much as you think.

The only disappointing thing for me is we won't get to exact some sort of revenge on you lot for beating us about 112 times in a row.

Having said that, you probably would have won both times again anyway. See you the season after next perhaps...

We actually were unbeaten against the 4 play-off sides this season (for what that is worth). We do have a bit of a vex over you for some reason, perhaps its the curse of the broken floodlights!
