What's Chorley's deal? Bankrolled? Traditional largish North club?

Not bankrolled AFAIK, always been relatively decent sized and the fanbase has swollen significantly over the last few years with disillusioned Blackburn fans.

Definitely not bankrolled, just a very well run club that operates strictly within the limits of its budget, which is probably in the bottom 5 of the National North. We know we can't attract players with wages but the team that Jansen has put together have team spirit in spades, they are all for one and one for all.
We are overdue to give Halifax a beating but it will be a very tough game.

If I was Joe I'd be pleased to avoid the dreaded all Kent final

The relief when Darren McQueen nipped in to lob the keeper was unreal. Made even sweeter when I heard Dartford had fucked it up.

In terms of opposition, I'd have been more confident against Dartford than Chelmsford to be honest. The latter are a horrible little outfit to play against, but as long as we play like we can, we should win. 22 unbeaten now.

Ticket details were released yesterday.

Chelmsford have been given 803 (which they're, of course, moaning about) when their average is 912. Leaves us with 2,300 to sell, due to the lowered capacity since the new main stand has been built.

Bit stupid to only allow 1 per person though. Either way, I can't wait.

Haha yep. I remember a couple of years back listening to one of their games when the U's weren't playing, and I had trouble understanding wtf the commetators were on about, due to the bad sound quality and the accent of course.

But then again, I have first hand experience of their accents when I went to watch them play Hereford in the play off final back in 2006. I was sat near two chaps and I managed to understand circa 25% of what they were going on about
Yorkshire is an international language- way back, my uncle was on holiday in Denmark and just addressed everyone in his native tongue, except louder, and had no problem making his way in the country, while my cousin, who had acquired an Oxbridge/Halifax hybrid at University couldn't make herself understood at all unless she flashed her tits at them. True story (except the tits). :cool1:

Not always- were getting about 200 for home games when we first encountered them. The catalyst seemed to be Chester's arrival in their league, when they developed a mini rivalry with them and their crowds surged, allowing then to progress to where they are now- which has been achieved in the correct & time honoured manner. :bdick:

Glad to see Salford remain in the National League North. The brown nosing by Man U fans on the Salford Twitter account makes me feel sick so not sure I could have stomached playing in the same league as them.

Seems to be a lot of sympathy for Harriers on here, just give this a thought, they are at home with a goal start against a team of "hoofers" who even include Josh O'Keefe in the starting line up and they still can't win! Cmon guys think about it!

Already said we bottled it. You guys did very well. Teams are giving us sympathy cos we're a decent away day with good pies.

Chelmsford, Chorley and Ebbsfleet are all perennial play-off bottlers aren't they? They two in the South certainly. Hope two of the three make it up (One is guaranteed to anyway).

Chelmsford and Chorley for me purlease.

We were the perennial bottlers, we made the play offs in every season in the North failing against Telford, Nuneaton, Halifax and Altrincham before finally winning against Chorley at their place after gifting them a two goal lead!

And I'm very glad we're playing you again next season :) Kudos on staying up for the second season running.

Chelmsford more so than us. 1 win and 2 losses for us in play off finals. Think Chelmsford have lost in the play offs 4 or 5 times, although I could be wrong!

Poor old Matt Jansen. As an ex player of ours (not a very successful one unfortunately) I'd be happy to see Chorley do well in that case. I'd also be glad to see Halifax back up as they are a decent club who should be in the National. Win win for me!

Cheers English Red, Matt Jansen is a genuine nice guy who had a brilliant career cut short through a tragic accident, he is in his second season as Manager at Chorley after having 6 seasons as Coach to Garry Flitcroft. He has done very well with the limited funds that are available at Chorley, but at least we operate within our means.

The South final on Saturday is now sold out. Chelmsford's remaining 380 ish (803 allocation) sold out in just under a couple of hours.

Ours sold out today also. Lowered capacity which is a shame as a fair few regulars have missed out on tickets. Sold out as I got to the ground after work, thankfully somebody sorted me out this morning.
