In the spirit of the times, I thought I'd do my bit towards societal division and conjure up an unnecessary battle between North and South in League One. Drawing a hard geographical line between the northern-most and southern-most teams, it divides up like this (ordered roughly by Northness or Southness)

North

Fleetwood
Blackpool
Bradford
Blackburn
Rochdale
Scunthorpe
Bury
Oldham
Wigan
Doncaster
Rotherham
Shrewsbury

South
Plymouth
Portsmouth
Gillingham
Wimbledon
Charlton
Bristol Rovers
Southend
Oxford
MK Dons
Northampton
Peterborough
Walsall

Table
Team: NORTH -> Points:40 GF:31 GA:25
Team: SOUTH -> Points:29 GF:23 GA:29

Not looking good for the mighty South, but a long way to go.

Suprised its someone from Portsmouth bringing it up. My experience is that the north seem obsessed with the divide. 'We' couldn't care less.
Isn't Northampton lost in the boring boring midlands? Surprised that your speaking for proper northerners and southerners.

Very good, I'm just the opposite of whoever brings it up just to annoy them. Which mainly makes me southern. But we all have a hatred for Yorkshire.

How many Northern prem winners have won a real tournament like the Johntones Paint Trophy?

We're not northern or southern. We have the wheel but we don't have any money either.

When clubs like Northampton are banded around there's no hope for the south either. :fish:

Probably because we yo-yo between the north and south sections of whatever two bob painter and decorators cup it is each season; Hartlepool away one season then Pompey away the next or vice versa!

Who is top of the league

Since K-Win wants compare the North and South for League One clubs, then Scunny has a strong claim to be top of the league. Current Champions of Third Division North and reigning for 59 consecutive years is tough to beat anywhere. Certainly, I would concede to Brighton that they have a matching record from the South, but they are not on K-Win's list of teams.

No-one cares about who is top of L1 any more
