Alty pretty much all but promoted after that last week of Warrington failures.

The Evo Stick North one is the most interesting league by far, 2 auto spots and 3 sides in South Shields, Hyde and Scarborough who could all easily get over 90 points slugging out for them.

Yeah i can't see Alty surely throwing the towel in now, somewhat surprised the way Shaw Lane dropped off the pace, possibly too many games in hand cost them.

It's a right old ding-dong battle between Tyne and Wear, Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire.
With like you say 2 auto spots, would personally like to see Scarborough pull through after all the troubles they've been through over the years.

Altrincham now require five points from their remaining five matches to clinch the EVO-STIK League's top flight title following a 4-0 win against Barwell at Moss Lane on Saturday.

We have been selected to host the NPL League Cup Final between Atherton Collieries and Coalville Town on Wednesday 2nd of May

Didnt see that coming,

They was quite a bit of needle and some trouble when we met Coalville in a friendly a few years back. Hopefully no trouble this time. Seems quite strange with it being only 20 miles for Coalville yet a 90 mile trek for Atherton.

Might pop down for that one.

Not exactly meeting half way on this one. I'd be somewhat disgruntled if i was an Atherton supporter like.
Will that put some money in the coffers for staging the game? With it being represented by the EVO-STIK League.

Congratulations to Altrincham on winning the EVO-STIK League's Premier Division championship on Saturday!
The champions will collect their trophy and medals next week in front of their own fans at one of their final two home fixtures, Marine on Tuesday night or Hednesford Town on Saturday.

I'm glad that's all over. While it would look to the casual observer that we walked the league, it didn't always feel that way. We were 23rd after 3 games, and when the wobble was on in March when Warrington got to within a point, I was genuinely worried that we'd bottle it.

Yesterday was tight first half, but once we scored it was an onslaught. Their keeper had a right game, could well have been 5 or 6 otherwise.

Warrington and Ashton are the other two best sides I've seen, would rather Ashton won the playoffs.

Congrats on sealing the deal yesterday! Missed my trip to Moss Lane this season.
Thought you were gonna bottle it at one point but you look like deserved champions from what I have seen.

I am sort've hoping ashton do it now as i'd love to see an Ashton derby, from what i get told (as a few Curzon fans watch Ashton when away etc, etc) Ashton have a very limited budget so have done well to generate a top 5 team.....but they have a horrific play-off record at that level.

Well done to Alty, its not an easy league to get out of because some of the sides do have a higher budget than they should, plus had to get out that first time because South Shields and Scarborough coming up will make league tougher with both getting very good crowds. Think how alty did it wasn't too important just to get out of that level which really was below where they should be.

The thought of a town the size of Ashton-under-Lyne could have 2 teams in the 6th tier is a bit of a mystery to me. I think their combined average crowd would be around 400. Add in that you have Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley, Droyslden and Glossop all within around 5 miles, it's even more impressive.

I know i was abit 'win-win' if Curzon stayed up or down as there was a possibility of evo Stick prem with Hyde, Stalybridge and both Ashton clubs involved......4 clubs all 10 mins away from each other.

probably just helped by an abundance of current local players i suppose and also that you can probably get decent part-time jobs in this area and tempt part-time players.

I still always say the hardest job in football is Workington because trying to lure part-time players into that area must be incredibly tough.

Congratulations to South Shields on clinching the EVO-STIK League's North Division championship on Tuesday night!

The Mariners won the championship and promotion with two games to spare with a 4-0 victory at Radcliffe, Gavin Cogdon, Micheal Richardson and Graeme Armstrong with a brace scoring the goals at Stainton Park to collect the three points last season's Northern League champions needed to confirm the title.

The brilliance of this Staly backlog and the ecostick ‘denanding’ league finishes on Saturday is becoming farcical

Game postponed last night, league demand it played tonight, Workington had to cancel u21 game tonight to use players from that to field a side.

On top of that Workington cannot get a coach at this short notice so players having to drive the 3 hours. Staly also now having to use youth as have 3 games in 4 days

Heavy rain currently so next to no chance it being on really unless ref has been told to just play it whatever the pitch is like.

Staly fan suggesting players should walk out, kick ball once, all head to social club an hour, nip back out to kick off second half then all just go for a meal then home.

Tempted to go tonight to see how it pans out

Weird game tonight, lowest league crowd of the season, very subdued atmosphere.

Alty fielded 3 subs, Marine just the one!

Is it the bottom 4 that go down? I'd be gutted to see Staly get relegated, used to watch them quite often. Bower Fold is a great little ground. They should be a solid Conference North club surely?

Only one down this season.

Below conf north is going from 3 to 4 leagues so means next to no relegations and lots of promotions from below
