It has been yet another summer of drastic change at the City Ground and it is now up to Sabri Lamouchi to steer Forest back to the promised land. But after more than a 20-year absence from the top-flight, will the rather unknown manager able to produce the goods?

Over the summer, we witnessed a complete change of personnel, both including the staff and players, which has become a common theme at Nottingham Forest. Lamouchi has been well-backed in his hunt to achieve promotion this season, bringing in over ten players, with the same number being pushed out the exit.

Since Lamouchi arrived on the banks of the Trent, Forest have become far more resilient and harder to break down. According to https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/, one of the first things the manager changed was switching dugouts at home, in order to be able to keep a closer eye on Forest's defence in the closing minutes of matches - an area where they were conceding plenty of goals last campaign.

A strong start to the season shows there are signs of progression and the players are buying into his philosophy. For Forest to go away to Elland Road and take a point from Leeds, before snatching all three points away to Fulham - as reported by https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/ - have to be classed as two very professional performances from the Reds.

Forest are firmly in position for a top-six finish this season if they are able to continue their fine form. Automatic promotion maybe looks a step too far, with the bookmakers backing that as Forest are currently sixth favourites in the outright markets as can be seen at https://betting.betfair.com/football/.

One criticism of Lamouchi has to be the lack of firepower he was able to bring in - but how much of the blame actually lies with him is unknown. Forest have Lewis Grabban up front, arguably one of the most lethal strikers in the league, but if he is to get injured then they can only call on Rafa Mir. The youngster was brought in on loan from Wolves during the summer transfer window.

Mir has yet to find the back of the net for Forest, and has recently picked up a leg injury on international duty for Spain U-21s, adding more pressure on Grabban's shoulders to be the main man for Forest.

But Lamouchi has won over the fans early doors - which is key to achieving any kind of success. However, his side are very much in a transition period and it may well take two bites at the cherry in order to achieve promotion - and with an impatient owner watching over, it is yet to be seen whether Lamouchi will be given any time past May, if he is unable to take Forest back to the Premier League this campaign.

Couldn't beat us at home when we had one full back and zero strikers so i'm saying no.

Top 10 but not top 6.

Nice advertising though.

Bielsa's bucket
awful team

mind you they had 2 shots at Elland Road in 2 games and had about 24 touches scored 2 goals somehow, so maybe they are a great team

Whilst watching our game I didn’t realise until yesterday the bottle job that Forest did in the last 20 mins - they were home and hosed.

Dare I say it that Wednesday was the greatest night of Championship football in history?
