If we fail to win this one I think I might just get the relegation thread up and running.

We have 7 injured a defence like a sieve and a powder puff midfield. We do look like scoring but it’s hard when the strikers are having to help the keeper!

Have to win, simple as!

Better get in here early before the Stags pile in en masse , as per usual.

Huge game. Clearly on current form we are the worst side in the EFL so underdogs in every match but need 3 points here. For that to happen we need Harry magic through the week to at least be solid and organised.

Take your pick, 2,3 or 4 goals against. If that happens Big Al will be sweating profusely and not sleeping

You might be bad this season (Surprisingly) but there is no way you'll be getting relegated with Morecambe & Macc both in this division.

Also think you'll win this game. 2-0.

I know it’s League 2, and with considerable amounts of disrespect intended to the clubs involved, but blow me the first few opponents at home this season have been dull. Col U, Yeovil, FGR, and Stevenage. It’s not enough that we have to be an embarrassment, but we have to be an embarrassment in front of about 150 away fans.

Just can’t see anything other than a straight forward away win, especially if they manage to win a corner or two. I hope someone takes poor old Big Al’s belt and shoelaces off him.

Kin ell I’m glad I’m not Coventry. Have you seen the average Coventry fan? Our play off semi wasn’t so much a football match, more a remake of Dawn of the Dead.

I'll reserve judgement depending on the team that Jewell picks.
if we go two wingers, powder puff centre we'll get more of the same.
Grind it out Harry, make us hard to beat, the flair comes later.....If we're lucky.

Wary again of this one seeing as Stevenage signed a couple of players in the summer that we are missing, namely ball-winning midfielders! Have to hope Tootle is back to replace the Ox at RB, who had a bit of a mare on his league debut at Exeter last week. Then I would play Milsom and Hewitt together in the centre of midfield - as fine a player as Vaughan is I’m just not sure he’s right for our current situation. However, who then do you play on the left? Thomas just doesn’t offer enough defensively and Kellet, who I like, will be needed at LB if he’s fit.

Paul Kewell or Harry Jewell?

Well, at least we should be starting with a left back this week, genuine progress for us. Milsom presumably back in the middle so some beef in the midfield, more progress.
Starting to raise my hope levels for the first time since Yeovil.

My hope levels are always raised by Friday and this season they’ve been shot down by about 3:14pm on the Saturday :ohm::err:

Lol. I won’t be there (standard) but will be nervously looking at my phone throughout the afternoon. Defeat here and even I will be worried

Defeats to Forest Green, Newport , Yeovil, Cambridge, add Stevenage to the list of greats and I may have to start going to Griffin Park.... only kidding

If only we could in any way work out how to defend..

Good going forward and really a fair reflection would’ve been something like 7-5 to Notts, but I can’t see how that is in any way sustainable.

Still think we’ll be fine because we’ve got so many good attacking options, Boldewijn and Hemmings are both brilliant, Alessandra and Stead came in and both played really well, Thomas and Dennis on the bench, but we can’t keep on conceding three every single game.

Brilliant effort when after 8 games a side can double their points.

Bonus all round!

I thought County were going to get that first win under Kewell today, especially when 3-2 up. The pies defence is all at sea this season and doesn't show any signs of improvement as the games pass (based on amount of goals conceded rather than me being at the games and having watched them). Surely Kewell is going to try and address this first? I'm sure County will start picking up wins soon.

I don’t think Kewell has yet worked out that you defend as a team. We keep stockpiling defenders and playing a ridiculous midfield pairing. Shape is still terrible.

The Shape thing is actually pretty criminal. Nolan did one thing when we were winning and it was relentlessly drill shape into us. Either the players are not listening or we have just abandoned it

This 3 goals conceded a game malarkey is getting quite ridiculous now.

I mean, after a couple of times, surely someone, somewhere suggested to just keep it nice and compact, play a no risk game and twat the ball into the channels. Just anything to keep the ball away from your goal and something to build from.

To still be going at this stage (7 out of the last 8 and 4 conceded in the other?) is crazy.

Indeed it Luke. The only consolation is we have a goal in us at the other end - if we can cut out conceding silly goals we should start to climb the table. To have let in 24 so far though, compared to say Yeovil’s 3, is ridiculous!

It must be some sort of record Luke , indeed it’s crazy! YP is right it appears we’ve taken a reasonable gamble on a keeper which has totally backfired and lost all shape and organisation. Nolan has a valid excuse for the first but clearly not the second

We just don't stop crosses going in, and teams are actually taking their ( too easy to come by) chances well.
Wouldn't blame the keeper for any of the last 8!!! in the last two games. I would and do blame the full backs, centre halves and midfield though. Tracking back, doubling up and tight marking is just not happening.

That’s shocking tbh! It’s Football basics, it’s the only way you average 3 goals against each game. Embarrassing
