For a non play off final game was that the biggest crowd that FGR have played in front of for a league fixture?

Yep.

Think previous was something like 10k at the Gas.

FGRs obvious weakness is their defence and keeper. Up front and in midfield they actually look ok, its just the suicidal back four and dodgy keeper which will cause them problems. Every time their center backs get the ball I think they are going to turn around and rifle a shot past their own keeper from 30 yards.

At nil nil, I thought we were going to win , and pretty easily. Rovers defence looked panic stricken when the ball went into the box, but once they scored it gave them confidence to spray the ball around and look tidy doing it.
We had players who reverted to their base line sfandard, in September they played out of their collective skins. Duffy, Dickenson and Yates all had poor games by the standard they have set themselves and our lack of a genuine 20 goal a season striker was exposed too.
On the bright side, we never gave up and I always get the feeling that good teams score late, poor teams buckle at the end. At least that's what seems to happen to us in promotion and relegation seasons.
A shame we didn't turn it on for a fantastic crowd, but we didn't lose and it felt like a win scoring so late.
Rovers must feel deflated after that, it's a sickener, Cooper has to get them up and keep you from getting stranded until Christmas then strengthen the defence and you've every chance of being in Div 2 next season. Certainly played attractive football and worked hard enough to more than match u today.

If we'd have scored first then I think we'd have ended up winning easily, but that goal completely against the run of play gave FGR an obvious shot of confidence. I think that they looked pretty good from midfield forwards - Drissa Traore had an excellent game.

Think yesterday was a rare miss from Nolan, to be honest. Cooper absolutely flooded midfield and against our 4-4-2 it meant that we could neither get hold of or keep the ball for long enough to put some extended pressure on what looked like a dreadful FGR defence. We should've brought off Stead a lot earlier and, rather than for Ameobi, it should've been for another midfielder to go 4-5-1. I think if we'd have matched them up formation wise then it would've been a pretty comfortable win, but tactically FGR were spot on.

If FG can continue to play like that, and continue to keep it tight at the back, they'll stay up no problem. Passed and moved us to bits, thought Doidge held it up well up front and Osbourne was an absolute beast. Like others have said, they looked incredibly shaky at the back first 30, and Collins was perhaps a bit lucky not to see red for pulling back Stead and then seeming to smash Forte in the face (someone else, not sure who, absolutely crunched Milsom with an elbow too that led to his lengthy treatment in the first half, but no action was taken at all), but if they had held on it would have been a deserved win IMO.

Anyway, Barnet at home next week. Hopefully Dan Jones will be back. We can't play that badly again, surely?

The thing with us is we're well capable of playing some good stuff, but we get caught out doing it too often. The hope is the players sharpen up, which seems to be happening.

Watched Tranmere v Orient on tv the other night, having not seen any national league football for a while it was striking how absolutely shite it was, so many errors going unpunished. Step up way bigger then most people realise, especially if you're a footballing side. Teams punish you a lot more, its sharper, quicker and more physical. We'd have absolutely minced anyone in that league playing like we did yesterday. That's the standard we need to be at minimum every week.

I wish nothing but bad things on both clubs after ruining my accumulator...

Broke the golden rule and backed Notts let me down for £420. FGR won't go down Morecambe and Vale we're far worse than FGR.

Ouch!! But yes never bet on your own team especially in a big accumulator bet.

That's a big sweeping statement , fans only see each side usually once , sometimes twice . So unfair to judge anyone on a single game's performance

Fair comment. FGR are far from the worst side I've seen this season I suppose to their fans went away wondering how on earth we were top based on that performance.

When I titled the comeback gig I didn't expect us to resign that liability.

Hardy as had FGRs pants down though.

On his day the best but seems during time at TNL Noble was having fewer good uns than in first six months at club.
He has gone from hero to zero with the Green Army as he did with County when he left them under dubious circumstances.
County seem to have a decent midfield so I'm wondering if he will remain a bench player.
And will he be welcomed back with open arms??
I think perhaps not.

As a freebie, it's a pretty good January addition . Possibly more so for next season rather the second half of this.

Savvy move if he manages to keep his head. The advantage we have this season to keep him in check is increased competition in midfield

Bet you lot must be fuming he left us on bad terms last time seems to be a trend of a player devoid of any class or loyalty. On his day his is talented problem is his day came once every 10 games of which he would spent 4 believing his own hype and strolling around and the other 5 suspended. Thought we had moved on.

Fall out or not it must leave a sour taste for FGR how is the reaction amongst your fan base?

The reaction is what you'd expect tbh, most people are fuming feeling shat on by a fans favourite turned snake and it leaves a sour taste. Hero to zero. He won't get a good reception in March that's for sure, which is a shame given he was our promotion winning captain.

To be fair, giving Noble the captaincy is just mental

Funny really when he was with us, if there was one thing you couldn't call him it was disloyal, he seemed pretty broken up when he released him. Is there anything behind it being family/medical related though? Is there someone close to him in the North East who is ill and who he wants to be closer to, or is it just doublespeak?

Not so.
Noble was a revelation as captain: he was an inspiration to the younger players and just as importantly captainsy seemed to lessen his red/yellow disciplinary style of play. I think he was one of the better behaved FGR players last season.
Being captain helped both him and the club.
