I thought you guys would have a good season last time, and I also think you'll give it a good go this term too. Palace will be a different animal under de Boer over Allardyce, so may play into your style a bit more perhaps for this one?

Don't really know mate but judging by pre season we score a fuck ton of goals but we can't defend if our lives depend on it... can see it being a big scoreline

Didn't you just predict a 6-0 away win for the Terriers in our new PL Prediction game? :D

Yes, that's a match I really look forward to and will watch it via Kodi. The first Top League match for HTFC since 45 years. A must see. David Wagner and his guys will get at least a draw (that's what I predicted)

I don't think we'll get anything out of that game... I can see it having a few goals into it but we just can't seem to defend in pre season and when you're away from home in the pl and you can't defend your fucked

Are you Saltire in disguise? ;) (He's similar, always expecting the worst from his Reds so he can't be disappointed later)

I wouldn't take the pre-season games too seriously (have seen HTFC against Stuttgart. Yes they defended shite at the 3-3 but they scored a few too later). It's the first ever Premier League match for Huddersfield and the first top division match for 45 years. I am convinced they'll do well and get at least a draw. Yeah, they'll play in the Big City but it's Crystal Palace not Chelsea ;) (no offense to the Eagles fans)

If you expect nothing from the game and you win then you appreciate it more

Of course Hudders will get something. I'd say a draw with enough missed chances for it to feel a bit disappointing.

Slightly confident going into it. Only player I'm gutted we're missing is Jonny Hogg who is out injured. Total unknown how we're going to line up, but I'd have it as follows.

Lossl

Smith
Schindler
Zanka
Lowe

Mooy
Williams

Ince
Palmer
Kachunga

Mounie

Subs
Coleman
Malone
Hefele
Billing
Scannell
Quaner
Depoitre

3-2 to us (Mounie x2, Kachunga X1)

Ince is kinda useless on the left so I would move him to the right and swap kachunga with VLP

Slightly confident and Loss! ;) That's what I read first before realizing that it's (Jonas) Lössl (another former Mainz Keeper (like Loris Karius) ) and you lot are not so familiar with our "Umlaute" ;)

I really think Palace will do well this year. We're provably playing them at the best time, whilst they're getting used to their new style, but they've got some quality in attack... Benteke, Zaha, Townsend, Cabaye, Puncheon, Loftus-Cheek, that could be pretty deadly if/when they click.

I'm hopeful we can get a good point, think the game will be won and lost out wide with both teams liking their wingers and Palace's new use of wingbacks. Not convinced our defence can handle it, but we've no idea how good Lössl and Zanka are yet.

Palace 2 - 2 Huddersfield, Palace are going to be good this year but I think the new boys are going to put up a fight.

No one here posting "live"?
I am actually watching this match and so far I am pleased with Huddersfields first PL match. I'll predicted at least a draw here and so far they have overfulfilled my prediction ;)2-0 at halftime, hopefully they'll hold this lead in the 2nd.

Has anyone called Huddersfield 'plucky' or a 'breath of fresh air' yet?

Hull City won their opener last season. Got relegated. Long way to go yet.

19th. Huddersfield.

I bet on you in my accumulator and the only result to let me down was Chelsea. First day of the season, go figure. :conf:

When I saw that result the first thing that came into my head was Blackpool! However they had Ian Holloway, Huddersfield have David Wagner so I think they'll be alright!

What I'm most proud of is that we've kept our style, and have just added more quality to the squad.

What I didn't want this season was to be like Boro last season, one of the most boring, forgettable campaigns I've ever seen. Their fans must've looked forward to being back for years, and they had very little excitement or memories. Brighton and Newcastle seem to have gone for that style this weekend, zzz. Early days I know but I'd be mightily pissed off if we only had 20% possession and our keeper attempting more passes than any other player in any game this season.
