Obviously goalscorers always win this but Fisher has been brilliant, can't believe the piss taking that came with this signing from Rotherham fans and supporters of other clubs. Plays it simple, quick, solid in the tackle and his last-ditch defending is outstanding.

Looks a great freebie so far.

Rotherham fans on the whole are mongs and know nothing about football.

I remember telling you how good Fisher was when you signed him.

To think we got rid of him for absolutely nothing but a sell on % clause just highlights how badly we're ran as a club.

Aye, your description has been spot on, only Rotherham fan that I saw who dished out any praise although I think another one on here gave a pretty fair assessment, can't remember which one.

I don't pay any attention to football fans on Twitter but there were a decent number labelling him a Conference player, grown men too.

and yeah, Neil said in an interview that we didn't pay a fee, we seem quite good at conning clubs out of decent fullbacks lately.

I think full backs, more than any other position, can get exposed by the way a team plays and look worse than they are.

Fisher has been the standout defender in a team that has only conceded a penalty in 5 games, most against teams expected to be top 6. Wouldn't surprise me if he wins it.

Yeah that's definitely a fair point but with our current system I wouldn't say Fisher or Cunningham/Earl have been given loads of protection and are both asked to bomb on and support attacks regularly. I think Fisher's issues at Rotherham were purely confidence based and he seems to be enjoying himself again.

I read in Rotherham's local paper (i think it was anyway) that he was a bit of an isolated figure in the Rotherham dressing room.

I think Huntington and Maxwell have both been just as deserving, can't fault any of them, Spurr and Davies have both been superb in the games they've played too.

I'd agree with Huntington except he stupidly gave the penalty away at Derby. Maxwell was a bomb scare at Derby and nearly fucked up at Boro too running past the ball. Made some great saves too though.

I can't think of a single error Fisher has made.

harsh that Bobby Reid hasn't been included in this. 4 goals and an assist in 5 games in a position un-natural to him.

Mendez-Laing and Warnock imo.

I wasn't at Derby but I have zero concerns about Maxwell, I love his style and our defence benefits massively from him. He's also a lot better at claiming crosses and commanding his area than he is given credit for. People have knocked his kicking a bit this season but its good, he tries to accurately pick people out rather than playing it safe and punting it into an area, I've no problems with that.

Quality keeper, Pickford aside, he's the best we've had since Nash.

I like Maxwell and agree he's decent on crosses and his kicking is fine. It's the sprinting off his line and missing the ball that he needs to cut out. I'd have Johnstone over him any day tbh.

Not for me, not much in it but I think Maxwell is more assertive in his decision making, although I haven't seen Johnstone recently or at this level.

I think he's sprinted out and missed the ball like twice, I don't think it's an on-going thing.

Agree about Reid, thought he would have been a cert to be in the 4 listed tbh

Did it at Derby and at Boro just off the top of my head.

12pts for Neil, including the 3-0 tonking of top of the league Cardiff and 2 away wins at Hull & Birmingham. No idea how that holds up to the other managers, imagine the point returns will be quite similar.

14 for us includes 4-1 home to derby and winning 3-1 away to Ipswich where we haven't won in 30 odd years, 1-0 win away at reading as well as draws at wolves and Norwich.

Villa are the only team better off than us for September by a goal difference of 1.

For me, Alex Neil and Flint. To be fair, Bristol City are so high up the division that I'm surprised they haven't all got vertigo or nose bleeds, so wouldn't wish for the MoM curse to fall on Johnson. :2thumb:
