meh, not sure how this will go. We were woeful against Rangers last weekend but i expect we'll be better this week. Can't see Preston been as strong this year without Grayson and we have a pretty good record on the opening day.

0-1 Rhodes

Fancy us here, we've got plenty of pace and firepower so hoping for a couple of early goals, don't think we will keep a clean sheet though.

Wednesday haven't had an ideal pre-season it seems and I fancy their fans to get on their back if they don't start well, I think Carvalho will be the first manager to go this season.

Feck me what a long summer.

Our attacking options look exciting this year and expecting big things from both Maguire and Barkhuizen. At the back very concerned.

I think we can win this. 3-2 PNE

Barkhuizen Maguire and DJ

Always a good atmosphere with a sold out Kop. Roll on Saturday

I love your new profile pic Tom. Sean Maguire will score 8 goals and sign for Barcelona by the end of August.

Tough game to open up the season with, would be pleased if we come back with a point and something on the board especially considering the lack of defensive options we have, really have to hope one of Loovens/Hutchinson is fit to start alongside Lees. Then again is Preston are also struggling at the back I would fancy our strike force to out score theirs. Should be a good day out either way with nearly 6,000 of us, predicting a 2-1 away win.

Westwood

Hunt
Lees
Loovens
Fox

Boyd
Bannan
Hutchinson
Forestieri

Rhodes
Hooper

Subs- Wildsmith, Pudil, Jones, Abdi, Reach, Winnall, Fletcher

Carlos has said there is only Palmer out with injury and that everyone else is fine. I would hope we can get Lee back in but with his lack of game time in pre-season i don't think he will. I also have a feeling he'll go with Jones in midfield over Hutchinson but really hope not.

Hopefully not mate, Jones is steady but in a 2 man midfield of him and Bannan it's very lightweight. Be interesting to see who he goes with wide left, I hope to god we don't see Forestieri up front again.

Pretty confident we can get off to a good start here, let's hope the new season optimism hasn't worn off by Saturday night.

My team would be

Maxwell

Fisher
Huntington
Davies
Cunningham

Browne
Pearson

Barkhuizen
Johnson
Robinson

Maguire

3.1 North End.

Alex Neils prefered formation seems to be a 4231, the 3 behind him will work very close to him if that's what he goes with so not completely on his own.

We look to have goals in us and with players like Harrop and Horgan to come off the bench we have good attacking options. We just need to learn how to defend a set piece.

Maguire is definitely best as a lone striker.

Hopefully it works out well for him/us then.

Must admit I'm excited to see what he can do when the real stuff starts.

Ht 0-0. Sheffield Wednesday, in particular, Foristieri, are once again cheating bastards.

Wednesday played exactly same as last season. Absolutely woeful.

PNE were class second half. Thoroughly deserved win.

Hugil had a huge impact off the bench.
Maguire had a cracking debut.
Spurr came in and was solid.

Cracking display.

Enjoyed that, well deserved 3 points.

I thought Fisher and Maguire both had good debuts. Maguire will definetly get goals, he's so sharp in and around the box and gets his shot away even in tight positions. Hugill shit them up when he come on, they couldn't handle him.

As for Wednesday, they where shite. They're a horrible team to play against, they love to give it out but give even half of it back and they whinge like fuck.

Time to get pissed.

0 shots on target, negative Carlos has learnt nothing from last season, he'll be gone by October

Diabolical today, it was like watching a re run of the stuff we got wrong last season that we still haven't learnt from. No pace in the side, midfield sits far too deep and it's no good having the best strikers in the league if you aren't going to get the ball anywhere near the box. Carlos needs to learn fast, I wanted him to have another go as I felt he'd learn from last season but if it carries on like that he won't last long. Preston were full value for the win, even though it wasn't a penalty for me it would have been a robbery had we taken anythinf from that game. Not one shot on target all game, hope to see some big changes for the Chesteefield game on Tuesday, and a bit of pace added before the end of August.

The highlight of the day was the Preston fan not giving us the ball back, then another one coming in tripping him up and smashing his head on the advertising boards, quality.

We were magnificent today. they came to Deepdale with Jordan Rhodes up front by himself and got shown up, we dominated the Yorkshire c***.

Our entire first eleven cost less than £1m and they're paying their subs over £30k.

That win was satisfying as fuck.

I was very impressed with Preston, some fans were saying how we should be beating you because you had 'shit' like Darnell Fisher in the team but you weren't a million miles away last season and have added some decent quality. You also seem better on the eye under Neil, Callum Robinson is a cracking player just the type of winger we are crying out for, Sean Maguire looks a find and your two centre halves were great, although we did make it easy for them.

Must admit I was worried when I saw the team sheet and we had Spurr and Hunts at CB. They were outstanding though.
