I do have to admit Askeys substitutions were extremely strange. The game on about 65 minutes was crying out for Whitfield and instead he leaves him on the bench until there was about 5 minutes left. What realistically did he think could be done in that time. Less said about bringing on Conlon the better.

Right now if we can’t beat Morecambe I really am struggling to see where our next win is coming from especially at home where the teams confidence is so fragile.

I also really need someone explain to me why if Howkins isn’t picked why Legge isn’t in the team in place of that shithouse Rawlinson, he is awful.

No but I think it’s obvious to be honest.

Hannant has gone off the boil and his petulance is getting annoying! That foul was stupid I know it was in revenge but keep your head! Did it at Newport too!

Watched the highlights of this. Why wasn’t the penalty taken again, there were about 5 players encroaching?? Not even a bit neither, it loooks like one of the Morecambe players was trying to take it himself!

Remember us doing that at Gillingham when Tomlinson made a save and they got a retake. Never happens nowadays though.

I've always felt that unless an advantage is gained by the encroachment, you let it go. I mean, what difference does it make if the taker scores or if the keeper saves by pushing it for a corner etc? It should only be retaken if the ball comes back into play and an encroaching player either scores or clears it based on their unfair advantage.

Same principal with free kicks. If a player bends it over the wall and into the top corner, does it matter that the wall had shuffled forward and were only 9 yards away, not 10?

Surely the keeper coming two yards off his line is gaining an advantage by narrowing the angle? That said it was a great stop and I wouldn’t expect it to be retaken if the boot was on the other foot.

One of them by the letter of the law it should have been retaken but as previously noted it’s almost never enforced so can’t complain really. Pope to be honest shouldn’t have telegraphed where he was going to hit it and also the height he hit it at didn’t help either, any encroachment didn’t affect that.
