Beat Yeovil 3-1, picking a fairly strong but not full side. Went behind initially, should have scored more in the end.

Napoli at the weekend, massive step up.

Just saw the Liverpool highlights. Ward makes a great save initially on the goal but when the ball rebounds out fuck me those Liverpool defenders just watch the ball. Klopp looked dumbfounded on the touchline. Story of the coming season?

Oh and Fellatio and Martial did well again for Man utd. MickT should have had a hat trick.

Things that bad?!

From watching all of our streamed pre-season matches, we've been as pathetic, if not worse than we were last season. Not that surprising since our only signing is a centre-back who would struggle to get into a Championship team.

The club has also reportedly been up for sale for months and the only people linked with buying us are some crooked Chinese group. So, similar scenarios to both Sunderland and Aston Villa of recent years and they both absolutely crumbled up here.

So, yeah, not much hopes going into the new season. :(

So much for new manager optimism, doesn't seem to be much of that about at Saints? Have you guys had a chance to form any first impressions of Pellegrino?

We're three players away from having a decent enough side. A CB so Yoshida is nowhere near the line-up (2 if VvD leaves) a CDM because Clasie, PEH are shite and Davis just doesn't do it in that position and a CAM who will actually link the midfield and attack.

So far we've signed a 4th choice CB.

It's so frustrating that we seem to be the only club in this league that have to sell players to buy players.

I see pre season as if we win we're making good progress towards next season and if we lose then pre season doesn't mean anything towards the coming season.

I hope you're not calling the good doctor a crooked Chinese?

Yeah, good luck with the sale mate, we were for sale for 3 years before we got relegated and then somehow sold. Look on the bright side, you can't possibly be as bad as we were in our relegation season, Sunderland tried but were nowhere near as bad!

Nope! The guy linked with us makes Xia look sane. ;)

The richest league in the world is no stranger to scandal and colourful characters. But this saga arguably tops the lot.

The Prem board barred Gao in February after obtaining evidence he had twice been involved in corruption cases in China, one of which ended with a senior city politician being executed by lethal injection.

SunSport has confirmed that Gao was indeed named in Chinese state media as one of a number of businessmen who gave bribes to Xu Maiyong, the vice-mayor of the city of Hangzhou known as “Xu three more” because of his lust for money, women – and more women.

I reckon he's worth a go in an attacking midfield role (similar role to Eriksen/Alli with you guys). However, we don't play that system.

Therefore, he's shoe horned into the defensive midfield position, leaving Romeu to do it all, as Clasie's too weak and doesn't have the fitness to last 90 minutes in the Premier League.

Between him, PEH, JWP and even Davis it's like playing with 10 men when they're in a CDM role.

But this is what you get when you don't replace Wanyama and Schneiderlin adequately.

We looking a bit leaky at the back though...

Well Iheanacho has made his debut tonight against Monchengladback and within 17 minutes of coming on he got an assist and then got subbed off after taking some heavy knocks. Fan-fucking-tastic.

I really don't want to lose him, he's our best player. But if the options are sell him for £100m or keep him and have him unhappy next season, I'll take the money. Providing we actually do something with it. I'd rather he decided to stay though and further his development.

They have been some whispers that West Ham's Manuel Lanzini is being lined up to replace Coutinho...

...how does that grab you?

Wow, never saw that coming. We Lower Saxons are normally a friendly tribe. Maybe Hannover is still adjusted to the 2nd Bundesliga and therefore can't behave properly in a foreign country. Sorry, hope you don't get a false impression now. Very disturbing news for me. Normally the 96er Fans only behave bad in their matches against Braunschweig and Wolfsburg.

reports saying they were chucking seats at and charging families, threatening subs, and some fans were armed with knives. crazy. all down to a dispute with the ownership and no longer being 50 + 1. pathetic.
