Wigan looked piss poor considering the team they put out and how stacked it was. Only had a couple of chances and general play was lethargic and meh. Thought our rag tag lot who were playing a new system and haven’t played for 4 weeks dealt with them comfortably until they switched off once in the 91st minute. Such is life.
I was hoping Bradford might get something but if Wigan were that poor how come Bradford failed to register 1 shot during the game? Hopefully you will put up a similar performance against us in a few weeks, but somehow I doubt it.

We were poor, kind of my point. It was a nailed on 0-0 really.Did I say we were good? We started with one striker whilst Jones and Poleon were both sat on the bench, obviously Grayson expected an onslaught but it never materialised and we should have had more of a go IMO.

Aye, expect 100% safety first with Grayson until he can get some of his own players in.

I could see Callum Woods ending up at your place in the summer and as much as i'd like him to stay, I wouldn't be completely shocked to see Tom Clarke join you in order to get first team football.

Defence was back to normal, didn’t give them a sniff all game. Hit the post in the first half but struggled to create much on an awful pitch. But as champions do we found a way to win and what a goal it was. Nice for Shrewsbury fans to understand how it feels when your promotion rivals win late on.

In fairness you can't really blame either side, the pitch is near unplayable. I think we'll be seeing pretty much the same sought of crap until the end of the season now.

Tbh on half chances created I thought 1-0 wasn’t that unfair a result, we created zilch and Wigan although with nothing too threatening kept chipping away most of game. Given we started an attacking midfielder as our only striker and had about five centre mids in various positions, last night was just another example of how dire our squad is - Wigan brought on Grigg and Cole, we brought on a German development squad player who is more Dog and Duck than League 1.
Seems odd that after such early season promise (over achieving) that the season’s now over, Grayson can only work with what he has, and that’s a load of dross playing home games on a paddy field. It’s so long since we last won (seventy odd days) it didn’t even hurt that much last night, not winning and constantly disappointing results is just becoming the norm. My only hope is Grayson gets hooked enough to stay around long term and overhauls the squad during the summer with the minimum input recruitment wise from those upstairs.

Not blaming anyone really just giving my thoughts on a promotion side. Wasn’t impressed with them given their budget is probably two or three times what ours is but it’s a one off game.

I’ve come to expect us being shit but I thought we at least battled last night and were worth a point.

I can see why he did it, don’t want to get battered in your first home game and as mentioned by others our squad is limited so he did what he had to. But he didn’t really change it until late on and then I thought his changes actually harmed our chances of getting a 0-0 as he took Gilliead and McCartan off who were decent outlets for us in terms of keeping the ball up the field and put a big German on who didn’t have a sniff.

One issue that I always had with Grayson was his subsitutions, he usually left them too late or they were just generally negative.

Still a class manager at this level though who has gone on to consolidate his teams in the league above. He will get you competing but might need a season or two.

Oh we do know, only recently Blackburn have done it and Wigan got a late equaliser against Scunthorpe it's just that Wigan and Blackburn fans have got in their heads we do it nearly every game .....

By the way you are not Champions yet ........

I didn't say we were. But that was a champions elect result last night. Awful pitch, awful weather, big home crowd, dodgy recent form, huge game on the horizon in a few days. But we found a way to win.

Very ironic that the opponents were Bradford. I remember a 1-0 win at home two years ago against Bradford at around the same time of the season. Just like last night they were so tough to break down under Parkinson back then. But we found a goal from somewhere and it felt like a season defining win. Very similar feeling to this game.

Aye that was at your place, killed our hopes of automatics.

Billy Clarke missed a sitter at 0-0, then I seem to remember a certain Mr Vuckic scoring the winner. Shame he seemed to forget how to play football when he came to us.

Big game against Gas this weekend. Just as we get in the playoffs our injuries start to mount!

Still have nightmares about that Billy Clarke miss, I’d say the worst one I’ve ever seen in the flesh.

Yea and your trying to stop a lot of our supporters from attending. Fancy restricting our numbers in the away end. I'm on a coach of 50 and only a 1/3 have tickets. Also many going by train.I also see a number of our supporters have already purchased home end tickets. You are also doing the same to Portsmouth fans. Appreciate its not your fault but anybody would think Plymouth is made of money.

1500 at first then another 90 in an away end that holds at least 2000. Maybe the Plymouth fans can confirm.
More than you give out and the away end can be moved to suit the plod or home allocation....

I suspect most Argo fans would want you to have another block (400), especially as the obvious ruse is that a lot will be in the home end. However, the decision may well not be the clubs but D&C’s finest.

Then you wake up, fall back asleep and have a nightmare about his miss at Wembley.

Yup can see there being a bit of trouble in the home end on Saturday. Seems a fair few Rovers fans are in the corner nearest their fans, which is where our Neanderthals also tend to congregate for their 2 games a season.

Our away end doesn’t really have a defined capacity and the 1590 more than meets the 10% requirement or whatever it is with the reduced ground capacity at the mo.

A few I’ve read about Saturday starting to sound like Portsmouth fans almost as if they have a right to a further allocation when a) the club may not want to give you any more when we are selling tickets well ourself, b) the extra block may increase police costs or police may have told the club not to and c) we seem to be the only club in the bleddy league who insist on a block of seats segregation.

Naturally all of these lead to the fans in home end problem and you get a vicious circle.

Anyway onto the game I’m pretty confident going into this one, we’ve been pretty solid at home recently. It’s definitely not the same argyle side we all saw at the mem earlier this season. I came out of that match resigned to league 2 again next year.

Lancs Police and the buffoons at our club have something to say about that claim. I'm sure we've had segregation separating Rovers fans from other Rovers fans at least one game this season. It's madness.

I still fancy us for play offs, especially after our run in last season! 2 wins in 2 games, if we can get a couple more consecutive wins, who knows! However, we do have a tough run in!

Thank you, Dale! That could be a promotion-chasing defining moment I think. Hopefully Shrewsbury will start to run out of steam although they’ve always reacted well previously this season

Huge moment in the promotion race. Still don't think Shrewsbury will go away so we still can't afford any slip ups.

With our thread bare squad the loss of our CB Toto when 1 up and in control, was a bridge too far and pivotal. Keith Hill cleverly changed the Rochdale tactics and went direct and physical which we struggled to deal with. The overturned pen decision was frustrating. No complaints with the result well done Rochdale and you will stay up if you keep that level of performance up.

I was positive that this run we are on must come to an end at some point and we will just fall short of the play offs this season. Today is the first day in which I will be dissapointed if we miss out. Were definitely in with a shout here

If we somehow do manage to get to the PO final our opponents will be nailed on victors. Yesterday makes it 4 defeats in 4 at Wembley - we just do not like the place :ffs:
