Roofe and Gayle, pair of cheats, done us out of 4 points so far.

We’ve made plenty of our own mistakes but away from home against the better sides in this league you really need the refs to do their jobs ffs
Just seen the Baggies 'penalty', there didn't even look to be any contact whatsoever. At least there was a wrestling match for ours which was obviously a correct decision.

Lolley gets his shirt ripped off his back the other end but not given as he had the cheek to stay on his feet

Great night that, Ashton Gate has been fucking bouncing like old times the last two games. Long may it continue.

I thought it was a bit flat in the first half but brilliant after half time.
As for the booing at the break, WTF?? :eyes:

Couldn’t give a toss. Makes it all sweeter that it was against the Wally and their players were scuffing up the penalty spot before it being taken.

Not to mention them deliberately walking in the box to put Fam off.

Fuck em.

I see they're moaning that they didn't get one just before our absolute stonewaller.
I remember watching their bloke meandering down their left hand side and Eros was fouling him outside the penalty area in his own inimitable way but stopped once they crossed the line into the box. I said to my mate beside me 'he'll go down as soon as he crosses the line' and, inevitably, he did. Eros never touched him in the area. Cheating buggers! ;)

:) Love it! Time wasting not so clever now eh R's?
Pretty even first half, unfortunate to be behind but absolutely battered them in the 2nd. Did they get out of their half?
Love it City. :woo:

I said in the away fans thread that our second half was poor and the time wasting was a joke.

Fuck em.

The penalty wasn't even taken on the spot so scuffing it didn't work.

Good eyesight from the away end Matt. ;)
What is the ruling about spotting the ball at a penalty anyway? Is it the same rule as a corner in that part of the ball has to be overhanging the triangle / spot? I genuinely don't know.
To be fair to Fammy, your boys had a right go at scuffing up the penalty spot before he took it but that doesn't work on a desso pitch by all accounts.
You were decent in the first half to be fair.

Had a good view from the red button to be fair. I think it is the same rule in fairness but I thought it was only from one side to the other, not making it nearer the goal. Something like that anyway. Lumley hasn't saved a penalty whereas Smithies used to save 50% of them. I would love Smithies back.

Lumley is ex rovers (spit!) so he would have learnt mediocrity there! ;)

Get in thanks to ayling it wasn't as standard win as it should have been

Dan James spent more time taking in his future atmosphere than doing much

Another shite performance. Gambled with resting Huddlestone and it just didn't work. Ipswich deserved the win over the 90 minutes but just lack any sort of quality. If Dave Nugent wasn't half dead we'd be coming back with all 3 points.

Onto the cup.

Might as well just win all our remaining games and finish in the play-offs.

2 wins in 13 games for us in all competitions. Can’t believe how bad we’ve became. Zero chance of play offs now, so i’ll move over to the mid table thread.

We've absolutely destroyed you in both games barring a bizarre 10 minute spell, another championship season awaits and a financial meltdown.

I think you'll eventually do well under Smith but it's a case of wether he will get enough time.
I agree. He’s definitely got enough about him to lead a team up, but it’s all about the pressure for me. By no means are we a Man Utd or one of those type of clubs, but there is a lot of pressure at villa whether we are doing well or not. If he starts to get effected by that, then it could have a negative effect on his decision making and overall management of the club. I’m already seeing cracks if I’m being honest.

I'll hang around the Promotion thread for a bit longer, or until our entire squad gets banged up on a fudged bank robbery charge, or they all come down with the zika virus, or all break their legs doing the hoki koki, or something else bordering on so ridiculous it can't be even thought of

I was surprised how bad the football was on Wednesday from your team, just a lot of long balls, given how well Smith had us playing for so long.

We definitely look to have turned a bit of a corner but we’re still giving away far too many soft goals to trouble this thread this season.

Do you think you’ve missed your chance in terms of promotion from this league? I’m just looking at your squad on Wednesday and it’s not half as good as it was. Dodgy keeper in net, CBs not up to the standard that Dean, Mepham and Egan were barring arguably Konsa (I know Egan wasn’t brilliant for you)?

Then in midfield Woods the obvious loss, no pre-injury Judge or Pritchard type player, an out of sorts Canos out wide and a 30 year old you sold a few years back out wide....

I just think you should’ve come to a point where you held on to everyone for a season and thought fuck it and had a go. There’s still quality in the squad in players like Watkins and Maupay, but nothing like what you’ve had in seasons prior to this one.
