Expect a late 'dark horse' to ride into contention, no idea who it might be, but it will not be Grimsby Town.

Two huge ones coming up for us now
On Tuesday we play our game in hand at home to Swindon followed by Coventry away on sat.
Last two home games have seen us go 2-0 down but come back to win 3-2. Very entertaining but it would be nice to enjoy my half time pie in a good mood.

Can't complain though - since the new year we've introduced "winners hour" where if we win it's £1 per pint for an hour afterwards. Even my tight mate gets a round in...

Wycombe are the form team afaic, only because I tend to read 'form table' as the last 5 games. There are loads of sites all over the web with these form tables, but it seems that these sites can't agree on the number of games needed to make up a table. Is it over 5, 6, 7 or 8 games? I haven't got a clue but I've settled on 5, as that number represents more or less a month. Anything beyond that isn't 'recent' in my book.

Ps - btw, does anybody know what happened to that Statto site? I've been googling for a while now but no luck. It was handy as you could click on any particular date and you'll not only get the scores but also how the table as it stood on the day.

I really wanted to check out that season when Bristol Rovers were relegated, as I seem to recall they were safely in mid table by as late as February (??) before it all went downhill fast.

They were, they spent 10 minutes of the season in the relegation zone.

Just the wrong 10 minutes.

Unfortunately not. I used to waste so much time on that website, would like to know if there is even the smallest chance it may come back online.

I don't know about the statto site, but if you Google Bristol rovers 2013-14 you can look at the Wiki entry for their season.
Early March they were 14th but only 8 points above the drop.

It’s generally six, which would include Mansfield beating Wycombe ironically.

Our form over the last few months has been pretty good.

Believe we're as much as 80/1!
That would definitely be a cheeky fiver.

I don't totallyou agree with you there, although however you look at them we're doing OK.
When we lost 4-0 at Wycombe and it looked like Harry might implode we had 17 points from 18 games and were 21st.
We've now got 45 from 31.
We're still 18 points behind Luton!

Me too :( My memory's not great at remembering football related stuff, so I just loved that site.

Cheers devil. Yeah, that season was unbelievably tight down at the bottom of the table.

That's for promotion though, not to win it.

(Sorry if you didn't mean that)

It took 2 years before I stopped laughing

We beat them 1-0 on the final game of the season, we scored from our only shot.

Wasn't ideal when it was fancy dress day, the Bristol rovers fans were after the Mansfield fans and we were all running around Bristol dressed as minions

Excellent! Almost, but not quite, as funny as Orient condemning Oxford to the Conference.

I love footballing schadenfreude.

So, there’s realistically 9 clubs vying for the auto/play offs. Which 2 are going to miss out?

Even funnier, you forgot your change strip that day so they were relegated by a team playing in their own away kit

Our manager has not been backed in the transfer window unlike some of the other teams around us aiming for playoffs and automatics, and we are not consistent enough vs teams around us and in the bottom third of the table. Plus, we always collapse in the second half of the season whenever we are doing well, regardless of what division we are in.

You would think that Luton and Notts were “bankers” the other three look like draws with maybe Coventry edging Accy.
But this is football and it has a habit of battering you 8-1 when you least expect it.

Great chance for us to put Tuesday behind us and move back into the auto spots, with six of our rivals playing each other. We'll probably make 4/5 changes, so hopefully shouldn't be too much of a hangover.

Think you forgot CRAWLEY v Grimbo.
However you look at it, I think we're top of the form tables.
2 big games for us now at Luton (13/2) and home to Lincoln (17/2).
Our last game of the season could be interesting, especially if we need it for automatic.

Next Saturday is going to be the crucial weekend, as we have it off due to Coventry's progression in the FA Cup. Everyone will be playing their 'catch up' game, so if it goes the right way for us, the pressure reduces quite significantly. If it goes the other way, its game on again.

10 points clear of 4th place with 14-15 games to go. If we stay 10 points clear with 9 games left (and teams need to gain more than 1 point a game), that becomes very difficult.

20 more points for promotion from 14 games. 2 home games coming up.
